We love our grill. It was a bit tricky to put together. Twice, I didn't follow the diagrams EXACTLY and then had to go back and fix my mistakes. I recommend following the assembly directions exactly as they are drawn and written. Like another reviewer, we too ended up with a firebox that would not attach to the frame, but discovered that we had reversed the top two sides of the frame. We had thought they were exactly the same, but it turns out the holes that accept the firebox are not symmetrically placed. After we took the top sides off and reversed them, we completed the assembly with no problems. Works great and a great deal. Again, just be very careful following the instructions. Even in a couple pieces look the same, might have differences, such as the top sides of the frame. see less

Well I will admit that I was hesitant to order this grill because the only two reviews this item had were negative but I saw this in-store and I came home and couldn't shake the fact that I didn't buy it. It looked nice in store and it was priced pretty well. I ordered it and it came within 5 days. No probs with bent parts or anything. I live in California and it shipped from the Midwest. My fiance is thrilled with this grill, his first grill ever! He is impressed with the ceramic grate and the fact that it actually makes grill marks! It was pretty serious work putting it together and it's much larger than we anticipated which is why I only gave it 4 stars but performance wise we are pretty happy with our choice! It was no contest, the Weber was clearly better built and produced a surprising amount of heat for it's size thanks to its charcoal grate and bottom vents. The Char-Broil mini was a piece of useless junk compared to this Weber. Surprising considering I own a full size Char-Broil charcoal grill at home that works very well. see less

GOOD POINTS : Well made with heavy duty material and it's a Weber. The silver bars that run along the bottom of both sides, slide up and down revealing vent holes{very cool design). It folds up nicely and all vents close securely , for no mess , one handed portability...While lid is not attached , it does hang on side of grill and out of your way.Large enough for 6 chicken breasts or 6 nice sized burgers...Small enough to store in a plastic bin in trunk of car.................... NOT SO GOOD POINTS : Silver vent bars are difficult to adjust once grill is hot , they slide when hot but not easily..Cooking surface is flush with exterior. You have to watch for food sliding off while flipping. I could only find this grill on line,would of prefered in store shopping........BOTTOM LINE : If your looking for a well made , well priced portable grill for 1-4 people and dont mind buying on line.....Look no further..This it ! This small charcoal grill is pretty short....I guess I didn't pay much attention to the dimensions before purchasing, but after I got it home and put it together, it comes up to my hip or so and I am 5 foot 7. So you can actually sit down and keep cooking on it. It has a decent amount of space for cooking and it was a steal for [$] bucks in the weekly ad! I love this grill! I had been looking for a gas grill that would fit on a small balcony and they're hard to find. [$]. I was dreading the assembly because I am not mechanically inclined. But there was no problem putting it togrther even without a helper. I'm amazed how well it works especially due to it's size. And the best part is after using it you can fold it up and put it in a closet. The enamel cooling surface cleans easily too using a scotch green pad. I'm also impressed with the attached match holder that's a back up system in case the igniter fails. They obviously gave some serious thought to safety. see less

I purchased this grill last summer when the local store clearanced all the summer items so I got a great deal on it. It has been great so far and is the perfect size for a small deck. The temp gauges are a bit useless but who uses those on a gas grill, anyways?! The grate does get clogged a bit but I don't usually grill right on the grate anyways. They're easily removeable and you can take them out a scrub them if you want to really get them clean. see less

I purchased this grill because it looked so nice in the store and was the perfect size for my needs. I also liked the dual temperature gauges and stainless steel cooking surfaces. Well, the gauges go to full scale because they are so close to the flame and are useless. The stainless steel rusts so bad, I no longer need to take iron supplents, and everything sticks to them. The grates often get clogged because the slots are so small. Using cooking spray helps, but I really should have bought this same design grill at HD that had porcelain cooking grates and a single temp gauge in the hood. Also, the igniter switch broke after a couple months use and although the manufacturer will cover it under warranty, the cost to ship it is double the price of the switch. I think the manufacturer should discontinue this model soon. It has basic design flaws. see less

I received one of these a few weeks ago as a gift. I tried it out a couple of days later and was pleasantly surprised. First, I hate to build fires. The Son of Hibachi's simple system for lighting was easy even for me. The cooking was great; cook time for steaks was just about 10 minutes. Heat was well distributed and consistent. The next day we used the rotisserie- I had never used one of these before, but it was pretty easy and made me look like I knew what I was doing. I didnt see that the rotisserie was listed in the Target site, but it is also made by them.Thanks Target. see less

We are very pleased with the process of buying our grill online. It was easy, simple, fast and not frustrating. It took about 10 min from start to finish. The only confusing part for us was when we used our gift card (which had a large balance on it of over [$] from wedding gifts) the website applied the entire gift card balance to our purchase which really worried us at the time because our purchase (the grill + tax) was less than[$] There were no notes or flags that popped up to let us know that only the total purchase price would be ultimately used. Nor were there any flags that told us we could check the remaining balance of our gift card online by going to the appropriate place on the Target website. All in all, a decent grill for a decent price. I give it a solid three stars for working ok, and for being reasonably priced. That said... The instructions for assembly are not that great, so it took me a bit longer than expect to put it together. Also, I couldn't get a few things to fit together easily. Since you only have to put it together once I guess it's not that bad, but I am knocking a star off for this. The side table on mine is really angled, although I'm not sure it's enough to cause things to slide off. You are supposed to be able to "collapse" the side table, but unless I put it on wrong, which is very possible given the poor directions, there's no way to do it. Another star off. Finally, it does not come with a cover. I can't knock a star off for this because I don't think most grills in the price range do, but it would still be nice. see less

I have used these for years and they are very safe. They have an optional hose and regulator for using 20 pound bottles that the large grills use. They don't get blazingly hot, but they do a good job. Longer cook times are the penalty of a small grill. Beats the small charcoal grills for convenience, light the propane and cook ,no ashes to wait for to dump. They use the small disposable propane bottles. And they have a tray under the grate which gives off a little smoke which gives the food a grilled taste, Perfect for a bunch of hotdogs ,several burgers or anything you wish to cook, slowly.Do not use under anything with a low roof over it . see less

Poorly constructed grill. Upon opening, I found two broken handles and a dent in the bottom portion of the grill. When contacting Char- Broil, I was informed that the top handle would be replaced, but the side handles were no longer in stock. What if this grill was a year or two old and needed replacement parts? It's brand new and they can't help me! Their conclusion was "use it as-is or return it". Overall, Char- Broil was impossible to deal with and not very customer friendly. Customer Service has plenty of room for improvement as does Char-Broil's general practices. I will NEVER purchase another Char Broil product. see less

My wife and I have used Weber's portable charcoal grill (the very basic one, not the Q series) for a few years but after several flirtations with vegetarianism we decided meat tasted too darn good and life was too short to feel guilty about killing animals i.e. it was time to upgrade.When I saw this grill for $$$ at my local target I jumped up and down with glee to the horror of moms shopping for summer toys for their tots. I immediately called my wife and, like a good husband, sought permission and blessings to buy the grill. The best part...it came fully assembled because I bought the floor model. It fit perfectly on the roof of my car along with the relatives, old mattresses, and a broken-down refrigerator from 1986. O.K, so I don't own a truck, and the part about relatives etc is fabricated, but I did carry the grill on the roof of my car because I didn't fit anywhere else. Perhaps the box would have fit more easily but assembly is usually a female canine.I bought a 20lb LPG from a local store and the cylinder came with a gauge (the person who wrote the other review is not entirely clear on how grills work. Cylinders vary by manufacturer/size etc. so they come with an inexpensive add-on gauge. So I didn't have a gauge problem.The grate is porcelain enameled and I was a bit disappointed that it wasn't enameled cast iron. However, my taste buds aren't sophisticated enough to tell the darn difference (if there is any). We have a family of 3 and we also prepare lunches for the next day. So we put 6 burgers with half an acre to spare. The grill gets ready within 5-7 minutes (at 5000 ft) and heats the food evenly. We LOVE cooking on it and we have used it 4 times within a week of acquiring it.As for long term performance, we trust in Weber (more than we trust the Fed.) so we aren't worried.Give this grill a shot...for $$$ it is a STEAL see less

This is a quality grill! Very easy to put together...with the exception of getting the doors to align properly, but with a little patience and perserverance we were able to adjust them right. Only negative thing is that it doesn't have a way to monitor how much propane is in the tank, but if the tank is easy to lift...it's most likely low on propane. I bought this grill with researching different grill, in the less then 400 range, I looked at Kenmore, and Brinkman, and others, but the features of this one topped the others. This isnt a Weber but I can tell you I never had a grill hit 600 degrees. Assembly was easy and it takes two to put the burner unit on. My last char broil bought from target lasted over 7 years, with constant use and always outdoors uncovered. Yes I would recommend this to my friends.... see less

I cant recommend any higher than this grill. It is super easy to use and does it get hot. I usually cook with no more than 2 burners cookin because it will , with no problem, bury the 800 degree max mark on the temp gauge with all 4 burners going. WOW does it get hot. Unbelievable, but yes my friends believe it. Look no further for your money this is the perfect grill for just 2 chicken paddys or loading with steaks. Good luck with er. see less

Just got my grill recently. Took about an hour and a half to set up. Not difficult, just a lot of steps. Having two people made it easier. Made sure to follow the instructions to "season" the grill by coating the heating surfaces with vegetable oil and then cooking it off at high temp for about 15 minutes. Also, read that it was important to turn the gas on at the tank before turning on the burner valves to avoid the safety valve kicking down the gas flow. After about ten minutes of heating, the surfaces were very hot. Was able to sear a steak, get some nice grill marks and had a perfect juicy inside. Also grilled up some onions and hot dogs for the kids - all perfect. The grill does need a little more cleaning and maintenance than other gas grills, but it really wasn't a pain at all to do, especially after dealing with charcoal mess all these years. It comes with cleaning tool and the heating elements all come out easily and can be cleaned in about 5 minutes. My only complaint is that the grill was dented in a couple of spots when we got it out of the box - one of these creating some problems when assembling. The spots will also probably need some touch up paint to prevent rusting where the paint had chipped. The damage wasn't enough to make it worth repacking the 140 pound beast, reshipping, and waiting for a replacement. Still, Char-Broil, should probably re-examine the packaging method to prevent this in the future. Overall, very satisfied and am looking forward to a summer of great eats! see less

Overall an awesome grill at a great price. My only problem was that 1-2 brackets were bent upon delivery. Nothing a pair of pliers couldnt fix. My biggest problem was that the only way to buy it is online[...]heats up fast, ignition is reliable, side burner works well, finish looks great, feels pretty sturdy.
