At first the item was very pretty to look at, but it was not working. The string tighteners are very weak, but after taking it to a music shop to have them tune it and rosin the bow, for a child it is working fine.

for the record, the bridge is placed incorrectly in the photo.
if you're looking to purchase a violin, do not buy one like this. go to a music store, and purchase a decent sounding one with quality varnish for only about a little bit more money. the varnish does not look like a quality spirit varnish, more like a plasticy substance. clearly this is not really a quality violin you would want your kid to bring to 4/5th grade music class. really, unless you want to spend some more money upgrading the instrument, it's best to get a great instrument for the same price.
The violin was ok, i had bought it for my daughters 5th birthday as a surprise /present and I was going to show her how to play it just like me and so i played twinkle on the violin and the string had broke off on the 3rd note and it had to be replaced . This violin is one or maybe even the worst violin that is currently on the market for [...] . I play violin professionally and i do not recomend it to any one who is teaching it who is trying to save money buy buying one from a non music store /shop.,I also tried to put rosin on the bow it would not stick and to get it on i had to yank it on there and i like about 54-1000 layers of it on it took me 4 hours just to get mine on and it took like another 4-5 hours just for my daughters rosin to get on about 10 days after buying this crappy violin i had decided to return both of ours and go get one by a music company and had baught both of ours for a littile more money but now the ones that we had recently had purchased work wonderfull!!!!!!
