I bought this knife because it had good weight, felt well made and I liked the idea of having extra blades stored in the handle for quick use. Then I got it home and tried it out.
1. No real instructions.
2. Slide won't go all the way to the front of the blade making it useless and impossible to load the blade.
3. Even trying to install a blade is dangerous and awkward and very easy to cut yourself on very sharp blades if you aren't careful. This is mostly due to how shoddy the mechanism is constructed.
After trying with all my might to push the slide to the front position to install the blade and hurting my thumb in the process, I took it apart to see if I could fix the slide. After seeing no reason it shouldn't just work, I spent 10 minutes reassembling only to have it do the exact same thing.
Looking for help, I found I am not the only one who experienced this. Just get a better blade. This one isn't worth the time, hassle, or pain. I would recommend this to an enemy.
The Ka-bar part number for this knife is 1282. This knife can come from Ka-bar with any of three different sheaths. Target.com's customer support couldn't tell me which one I would get. Looks like a very nice knife,D2 steel is much better than the regular stuff.
