I was a bit iffy about purchasing this product at first, but decided why not give it a try? I absolutely LOVE this product. It took me less than 10 minutes to put together and went into my shower hassle-free. There are rubber grips on both ends that keep the pole in place. You just pull the pole as long as you need and then twist to tighten! The shelves are held in place by rubber bands underneath each tier and are easily adjustable. The bottom tier of mine kept slipping to the bottom of the pole, but it can be easily fixed with the extra rubber bands.
I have had the caddy in my shower for 3 months and no regrets. On one shelf, I have a regular sized shampoo, conditioner and another small bottle of shampoo. I wouldn't recommend putting anything jumbo-sized as it might be too heavy. I also don't put anything with pumps on it because I don't want to purposely push down on the plastic each time I try to get body wash. Definitely would recommend this product!
I purchased this product over one year ago for my small apartment. I assembled it by myself in under 15 minutes and I haven't touched it since. It has small areas of rust spots on the metal pole directly below each white plastic platform and I haven't had any problems with the "shelves" slipping. I am a girl who uses lots of different products in the shower and this caddy hasn't wobbled or budged with regular-sized bottles of shampoo, conditioner, face washes, and jumbo-sized body washes.
A great price. A great product. I'd recommend to all.
I bought this because I needed additional space in my bathroom. Easy to put together took me lass then 15 min. I have had this for over 1 year and is still holding up great. Metal rod has not rusted as with other pole shower caddies. Hold large and heavy bottle of shampoo and conditioner. Doesnt come with razor holders or little wash towel rack, but I knew that from looking at the picture on the box. Good price, great product. Would recommend.
I bought this for my college apartment, and it has worked very well for the two months that I've had it. I handed it off to my dad to assemble, so I can't say how easy or difficult it was. It doesn't seem very sturdy to me, so I haven't put anything too heavy on the shelves - I've been using 3 oz. bottles to hold my family-size shampoo and conditioner. It has started to rust a little bit, but nothing too noticeable yet. I like that it has four shelves while others only had three, plus the rod on the bottom to hang my loofa. I'd say it's great for a college student like me, but you might want to spend more for a nicer one if you're looking for quality.
Unlike the other reviewers, I found this quite easy to assemble. It took me less than 10 minutes to assemble and I barely glanced at the instructions. However, this isn't my first tension rod shower shelving unit.
I have it in a corner of a square stall shower. It seems quite sturdy, and the shelves are mostly straight. For the price, I feel that the quality is good.
I like how it looks, and I love the little swing bar.
Our last shelves, which also cost around [$] and claimed to be "no rust", were most definitely NOT no-rust. Those shelves began rusting after about a month and lasted exactly 2 years before snapping and toppling over.
We've only had these new shelves installed for a week. I will return to update this review when rust appears. We do not wipe down our shower / shelf pole in between use. This might prevent the rust, but we don't have time for that.
Install was fine, looked great, held all of my stuff. Love the towel bar in particular.
Less than two weeks of light to gentle use, then it fell down on me. Should have listened to the bad reviews. Return.
I bought this about 4-6 months ago. It did take a little time to configure but that was only because I switched up the way things were organized on the rod. But then that is one of the positive notes as well - you do get to organize which ever way you like. I put the wash cloth rod on top and I hang my back scrubber and wash cloth on it. Then I put the 2 put big baskets and finished with the soap basket on the bottom. Afterall, who wants soap drippings all over the rest of their items in the other baskets. As far as rusting, I have not noticed a spec of it yet. However, it does not get much water on it since I put it in the front of the tub instead of the back. Also, I have 9-10 foot ceilings and had no problem having this fit comfortably and seems to be quite sturdy.
I bought this for my husband who is in a wheelchair. We have a roll in shower and thus need a place to hold all our shower stuff. The guests who say it is too short or too tall are not putting it up correctly. It is designed to fit tightly into a corner, thus you have to use your muscle to push it together and then twist to lock. Once you have it up it is sturdy.
This product performed admirably for almost a year in my old shower and the only reason it isn't back up at my new place is the movers lost one of the caps - which I am working on replacing.
Yes, the instructions are miserable. But, sometimes you just need to be smarter than an inanimate object.
As for the comments on durability, it seems sturdy enough to me. But, then maybe I am the 1-percent that actually managed to put it together correctly.
