I just received my granite top kitchen cart. I am really pleased with this purchase. Before i made my order i read previous reviews and based on the reviews i felt confident with my decision to make this purchase. My son put it together for me and he said the instructions were not clear so he relied on common sense while putting it together. After I bought a new Micro wave oven that was way to big for my micro wave cart, and way to big for my tiny kitchen, I didn't know what iI was going to do, so I looked at this Island in the store and fell in love with it. It was so easy to set up all the hard ward was labeled it took about 1 1/2 hrs to built, it was packaged very well nothing was broke and nothing was missing, it even gives some extra hard ware. I was pleasantly surprised when I saw the hardware packed with all the parts separated in pockets per step by step instructions. It even has a separate pocket on the cardboard with extra parts. Kuddos to the person who thought that up. Someone finally used common sense. It was easy to put together with two people. The style is great and the extra drawers and cupboard are extremely handy. We love that the table extends in back. The only thing I would like to see replaced are the extender braces under the swing up extension. It is nice that they are keeping with the wood theme, but metal would hold up better. I will never use the top itself for food prep, but will rub it with food grade mineral oil to keep it from staining. The great part is, that since the kitchen is small, we can roll it out when needed, and back against the wall when done. see less

picked this up in the store a few days ago, on sale. Put it together last night and it was super easy. There was only one small, minor issue. One of the knobs wouldn't tighten. It appears that when the grooves were cut into the knob it was crooked so the screw won't tighten all the way. I called the phone number on the directions and was transferred to customer relations. They looked up the manufacturer and gave me their number. They weren't able to ship just the knob, and are shipping the whole hardware pack. I will be buying another one of these carts to go on the other side of my stove. Very happy with the product see less

Dowel holes were way too ... see more

Dowel holes were way too big for the dowel pins. Screws holes were too large for a lot of the screws so they would not tighten. Some screw holes were so big that the screw could not be removed because there was nothing for the screw to grab. Rear wood panels on most of the drawers were so thin that they split when the screws were installed. I have purchased similar products from [...] for a lot less money what were many times better quality than this item. Target should be ashamed to have this on their store shelves, much less have their name on it. I might not be so disappointed if this product was half its current price. However, it should be much better quality for what it currently costs. see less

This island is perfect for my open concept kitchen. I had been searching for a island that could give extra storage and seating and this island answered my prayers. The directions were very well thought out and straight forward. My bother n law put it together in 1.5 hours, all the parts were there with even extra parts. I was concerned that the height would be to short, but its perfect. Its actually a inch or two taller than my counter. I bought 24" bar stools to go underneath and its a perfect fit. The only two minor drawbacks are that the top is pure unfinished wood and the towel bar cant be moved to the other side. But easy fixes. You can use mineral oil for the wood, and that will seal and protect it or you can do what I did, and get Minwax stain and stain and seal it. Either way both options are cheap and easy. Overall I rate this island a 10, ITS AWESOME, YOU SHOULD GET IT! see less

We ordered this online after seeing it in the store. We moved from a large kitchen to having a much smaller kitchen and this is the perfect supplement piece that we were searching for to hold more of our counter top items and have inside storage. I only wish the towel rack was able to be moved to either side but it's really not a big deal for us! The quality is great and the assembly time was about 1.5-2 hours for one person. see less

I am using it in the master bath because of a lack of counter space for cosmetics, etc. I did change the knobs to a pretty floral porcelain knob, but only because it made it more "bathroom" looking. It is just what needed, almost seems like it was designed for me. It gives me extra prep space when I want it, then easily rolls out of the way. I have an island countertop overhang, and the cart fits right underneath with less than an inch to spare. Amazing! I did not install the wine rack. I wanted display space for pretty mixing bowls instead. The cabinet and drawer are for hiding dog food and dog meds! And yes, I do use the bamboo top as a cutting board. I highly recommend this cabinet if you are looking for an INEXPENSIVE microwave cabinet that will NOT need to endure rough use and slammed doors. I purchased this cabinet 2 months ago and I absolutely LOVE it! It arrived intact, with no parts missing or broken (despite the wobbly packaging and negative reviews posted previously). I am a 66-year-old single woman and I enjoyed assembling this cabinet, although it helps if you have some previous furniture assembling experience and/or can follow written instructions, and are not expecting a heavy-duty piece of furniture. The upper cabinet is perfect for my crystal stemware and glasses and I store infrequently used small appliances in the bottom. Initially I thought the microwave shelf was a bit low, as it is several inches lower than my kitchen counter, but the height turned out to be perfect, even though I am 5'7". The cart came with one piece of wood that was warped, the stainless steel top scratched, and one of the drawer brackets assembled facing the wrong way (and it's glued/stapled in place so I couldn't turn it around). In general, it doesn't seem to be well made anyway - I can't imagine it would last very long. I'm returning this item - too bad as it looks a lot nicer in the photo. :( see less

This item is very nice looking. However it is made of material that will not hold up under the stress of a normal kitchen. Assembly is required, of course, but the diagrams and instructions are sketchy to non-existant. One important part arrived in damaged condition. I am trying to access the "service" provider now in order to obtain a replacement. Given the price, I got less than what I paid for in quality. By the time the shipping and tax was added, the increase made the total half again as much as the listed price, and my dissatisfaction was doubled. I will live with it if I get the replacement part. see less

Although we purchased the furniture at a lower price than currently advertised, we are very pleased with the unit and believe it is a great value at the old price. It particularly fits well in a medium sized kitchen. It not only provides utility in the kitchen, it is a fine piece of furniture. It wasn't too difficult to assemble and tools aren't necessary other than a screwdriver. The top portion with sliding drawers is one piece that just fits on the base and middle cabinets that take about 2-3 hours to assemble. You will need two strong persons to lift and drop the finished top piece on. The wood is slightly darker than the photograph shows, but it will work well with lighter kitchen cabinet tones. The piece is heavy and will not move if one bumps it inadvertently. see less

Top finish will not stand up to much use but I added a coat of polyurathane to mine. Not everyone likes the look of poly, you may want to try something else. There was a review, that seems to have been deleted, that warned of this so I was prepared. Storage space is much smaller than the outside dimentions would suggest. It is divided with a support so you basically have two 19 inch deep, by 12 inch wide by 25 inch high storage spaces behind doors. The color is very close to online picture but I don't think most would find this matches anything else called oak. More of a brownish cherry or reddish walnut. I like the design of the top. It is easy to assemble. The packaging has an inch of cushion and while my boxes were pretty beat up on arrival no damage to product. It comes in three heavy boxes so be ready with help and space when it arrives. Overall I am pleased with this product given I knew most of the above complaints before I purchased. see less

I love have this cart in my kitchen - the extra space, and it is real wood, not laminate. Very sturdy and easy to put together -you will need 2 people to put together the drawers, though. Instructions are clear and have pictures and part identifications. Parts are labeled with stickers for easy assembly. The drawers are big and the shelves are spaced enough to fit baskets or appliances underneath. The stainless steel top is a great for prep and easy to clean. It is a solid piece of furniture and was relatively easy to put together.While I love the look of the stainless steel, I question whether I should have picked a different top. I'm so worried about scratching it that I'm being very careful about what I use the counter for. It's not easy to keep clean either, but I learned a wonderful trick. I didn't add the wheels since I don't plan on moving the cart around. I also didn't add the extra knife storage piece it came with because I don't see myself putting knives there. So adding that extra piece was unnecessary for me. I haven't tried storing anything heavy in the 2 shelves so I'm not sure how strong/sturdy those are. My cart was delivered yesterday, and today my very smart 18-year-old grandson put it together for me in about an hour! I totally love this cart, it is just what I needed in my kitchen to go under a window and serve as a breakfast bar so I can look out at the backyard, telephone table, and storage for those items you never know where to put, such as big telephone book, etc. My ONLY complaint is that the little wood things used to plug up the holes, don't know what they're called, all came in one size, except for two which were a tiny bit smaller. And once they're in, you can't get them out. But that's not a big deal, considering everything else is perfect! see less

Ok so I read all the reviews and was a little hesitant, but it really was a perfect look and size for what we wanted in our new home, and it was within the budget I had at the time! It is a great little piece once you get it together, and yes we to were missing one small part...I was prepared for that based on the other reviews, so I called the number the previous person posted and it arrived 3 or 4 days later. It was a quick polite phone call and nothing more. So while you might need a tiny bit more patience, there are a lot of pcs. to put together it is now in our home and I use it everyday for the microwave and storage. I'm glad I took the chance! This cart works fine in my small kitchen. Despite some negative reviews here, the cart was easy to assemble. Though not extremely sturdy, certainly nothing I would use as an additional countertop surface for food prep, it works fine for extra storage and to hold my microwave. Compared to other carts I have owned before, the wood for the shelves are sturdy and not the crumbling particle board that usually collapses after a month of use. I got this as a wedding gift 3 years ago and it has worked really well for my husband and I. We didn't use the casters but put caps on the legs instead. It was pretty easy to put together, from what I remember. It looks nice. You have to be careful what you put on the top shelf, because it will shake if you're chopping something on the main counter. The drawer is nice. The wood looks pretty good--a pretty thick gloss, which is good for a surface that gets wet often. I would definitely recommend this product, if it's still made as well as it was 3 years ago. see less

I purchased this cart based on the 72H x 31W x 21D as it was listed under 'Dimensions'.............however, if you note on the website, there are two sets of dimensions!! The other set says 72Hx24Wx16D and that's what this cart is!! My microwave barely fits in & sticks out a tad which I'm not comfortable with, therefore, this cart will do for the meantime until I go purchase another one from somewhere else. Although the instructions were unclear, I managed to put it together. So if you're looking for a similar cart with the larger dimensions....don't purchase this one. see less

I should have listened to the bad reviews on this item. It's design was perfect so I was willing to give it a try. About 30 minutes into putting this together, one cam bolt fell out and the entire cart collapased. One piece was destroyed in the collapse. I went online in hopes to order a replacement piece. The company website is temporarily unavailable. I then tried to email the company and it was returned because the email address did not exist. I have purchased many put together type pieces and I have to say this is one of the worst pieces I've had the displeasure to try and put together. Target.com was wonderful and issued a refund. Thinner than cabinets would be, and on wheels so it can move around. Looks great - we've gotten tons of compliments already. My new kitchen cart was delivered right on schedule. The shipping packaging was very sufficent. There were no dings or marks and all the nuts and bolts and parts were present when delivered. The directions were easy to follow and the cart went together very quickly. It looks great. I love that it is on wheels for the ease of cleaning my floors. Also I can wheel it into the dining room or onto the patio to use as an extra serving cart for parties.The stainless top is beautiful. The wood panels and doors are well made. This cart is sturdy, and holds all my small kitchen appliances. It's just what I needed in the center of my kitchen. I changed the hardware pulls to match my kitchen cabinet pulls. Be aware that the measurements shown on the website INCLUDE the spice rack and towel bar. The actual counter top measures 44-1/2 x 17-1/2. It would be nice if the manufacturer had included dowels to plug the screw holes for the spice rack if you didn't want to attach it to the cart. They didn't, so if you don't want to attach the spice rack you will have visible holes where it attaches to the cart. Overall though, I'm pleased I bought the cart. see less

I did a ton of research and read a lot of reviews before making this purchase. I read a lot of mixed reviews on this island and was concerned about the "worm holes" on the top surface. I am SO glad I took a chance on this island. It is just stunning. There are minor embellishments to the top surface, but they are extremely small, there are very few of them, and they do not detract from the beauty of it at all. Every person that comes over comments on how gorgeous the island is.It also provides a great amount of storage. We took down 2 full hanging cabinets, and everything from those cabinets fit in here perfectly with room to spare. And the shelving on the sides was a nice touch and a great place to display some of my collectibles.[...]The one thing that I saw in a few negative reviews that was accurate were the cam locks (during assembly). They were very difficult to work with and required me to do a step differently than the directions indicated, but thankfully that only accounted for a small portion of the assembly. I am a small woman (5'2") and was able to put this together with my 13-year-old son with no additional problems. I just can't say enough good things about this island. If you are on the fence about purchasing it, do not hesitate another minute. You will not regret it. see less

They provided spare hardware, which is always appreciated. The one down fall was that a pre drilled hole on the door for the knob, was drilled on the same side as the hinges. I just finished putting this together. It is well made and the directions for putting it together are very detailed. DO PAY ATTENTION TO ALL DIRECTIONS. I also recommend having a power drill/screw driver. I had to re-drill some holes in the base for the wheels using a 3/32 drill. I put it together myself and it took several hours. I am a woman, but I do love constructing furniture and using power tools. The bottom cupboards are long enough for my extra large baking set and for some large pots and pans stacked on top of each other. One word of caution, there is only 27" X 18 3/4" of cutting surface. I thought that the top of the island was the full 32 inches advertised, but that includes the spice rack and the towel rack. see less

This is a very sturdy and solid piece. I love that I can move it around. It did take about an hour to put together. The only other complaint is the box said "cottage oak" instead of the "antique oak". I kept it anyway since it still went well with my kitchen. I am in LOVE with this island. I just moved into a new apartment and the kitchen definitely lacks counter space. I can now easily roll the island from the dining room to the kitchen whenever I am cooking or just need extra counter space. It seems very durable and is surprisingly spacious on the inside.However... it was awful to put together. My boyfriend and I had to expand some of the holes just to get the dowels to fit in properly and it was definitely a two person job. One thing I wish I knew before I put it together was to put the side racks on before you start putting together anything else. It is very difficult to put them on after the cabinet has been built even though the directions tell you to put them on next to last.Other than the difficulty putting the cabinet together, I would still recommend it. You really can't beat the price for the quality and it is very functional. Just take a deep breath before you open the boxes and don't get frustrated because it will be worth it in the end! see less

I received this kitchen island about a week ago and it is seriously a gorgeous piece of furniture. Looks far more expensive than what I paid for it at Target. Very heavy solid unit that seems like it will stand the test of time. The installation was not difficult and took about an hour an half. The drawer that opens from either side is a neat feature and I'm using it to keep all my jars of spices in it. It organized them all perfectly. This would also be great for a utensil drawer. The cabinet underneath is of medium size and fits a standard pot and pan set on one of the shelves. I use the other shelf for corning ware. Larger frying pans and woks will not fit in this though. The exterior side shelves are great to hold decorative items. In a nutshell I'm super happy with this purchase and would highly recommend it to anyone needing a very nice looking and sturdy kitchen work space. see less

Trying to resolve with manufacturer. On phone they said to send pictures and they have not responded to two emails so far. Will call again. But, it really does look like something that cost more than twice the price so we're quite happy with it. The knobs aren't great - we used better ones we had. My husband only helped when I needed to lift some the top and flip the island over after it was assembled. Assembly was fairly easy. I love the island it is very sturdy and looks great! I hung a pot rack above it for my pots and pans and use the cart for work space, counter space, pot covers, cookie sheets and utensils. It also holds bowls, spices and has a handy towel rack. If you have a small space that won't accommodate a standard baker's rack (my chosen space was only 24" wide), this rack is an ideal substitute. It arrived by UPS within a couple of days of ordering and took us less than a hour to assemble. (A drill or power screw driver with a phillips head works perfectly.) The three shelves are solid wood and match the rattan baskets. Although it is sturdy and weighs enough to stand alone, there are pieces included that permit you to anchor the rack to the wall, if desired. The shelf unit looks stylish and can go anywhere you need storage. I'll be using mine as a phone center and storing table linens in the breakfast nook. see less

The Nice - Looks great. Nice marble top. Superb casters - rolls easily. Drawer slides easily and has a relatively, but effective plastic stop. Assembly was easy and instructions were clear and written parts were done in well written English. Basket slides easily and the lower shelf can be adjusted 3 ways. Target's price was way better than any other, especially with the Red Card. Shipping was much faster than expected and the cart was very well packed/protected... The Not so Nice - Despite its nearly 65# shipping weight this cart is less sturdy that expected. Dowels and hardware, screws and machine screws/barrel nuts, hold it together, however the dowels are loose and all but useless. We have a 50# portable dishwasher on ours and the cart sways when rolled. Drawer pull is a bit goofy. Construction of the drawer rails is very basic - wood rail and slot - no hardware. There's no stop for the wire basket. Would have liked a sturdier unit, but, it was worth the price. 4- see less

I bought this because I had a large, antique farm table in my kitchen that took up too much room. This piece fits great. Make sure to check the dimensions because it's pretty narrow. It took awhile to put together but all the parts were well-organized. I had to trade out the screws they included for thinner ones because I had an impossible time screwing them in and didn't have a drill that could fit into tight spaces to redrill the holes. Also, it has no drawers or doors on the "other" side in case you're wondering. I did. The wood top's a little thin. Last thing - the drawers are not full extension so they're not too useful. I've been looking for a kitchen cart for close to a year to hold my microwave and provide additional space. Never even thought to look on-line at Target because I didn't see anything in-store. I wish I'd done this a long time ago. This is a very substantial product for the money. The cart arrived in two pieces. The cart was one and the top was the other. Every single piece right down to the screws were clearly labeled. My husband rolled his eyes and asked me if he had to assemble my purchase. I told him no that I was doing it myself and he laughed. It took me only a little more than 90 minutes to assemble by myself. I had a good time! I am able to store an extra large microwave and a large Kitchen Aid bowl mixer on top with room to spare. There is a ton of cabinet space underneath with adjustable shelves if you want to use them. Oh yah, I can't forget that there are two good size drawers. This is a real piece of furniture. This is not a chintzy item by any means. I still can't get over the great price. Local furniture stores want more money for less quality and size. I strongly recommend this item to anyone interested. This came in two boxes, one was 74 lbs, one was about 25. The lighter box held the top and a few other small pieces. This assembled well, and even though I did put one piece on backwards (it inevitably always happens), it was easy to correct, and I felt that I didn't wreck the integrity of the cart by my minor mistake. In the shipping box, it's heavy; I recommend using a dolly if you have to move it any distance. The directions are easy to follow and assembly is straightforward. I'm a 50 year old woman and I put it together in a few hours with no help other than a cordless screwdriver. It comes prepped - hinges and magnetic closures are already attached, and connecting dowels are inserted and secured with glue. There were two small flaws. One was some very minor splintering on the edge of a small piece of wood in a place where it doesn't show or affect the drawer movement in any way. The other flaw was slightly more problematic. When attaching the first side piece to the base, the dowels in the base didn't match up with the holes in the side piece; they were off a teeny little bit, but just enough to keep it from fitting together. It was easily fixed though; I took a fine rasp and filed the outside edges of the dowels and the inside surfaces of the holes until it fit. The cart secures with screws, so the integrity of the piece wasn't compromised by that action. The finished product is a beautiful, sturdy cart that rolls easily, even after I filled the drawers and cabinets with utensils and kitchen appliances. All my friends who have seen it are very impressed by the quality and appearance. This cart is well worth the very reasonable cost, and I would definitely purchase it again. see less

I might not recommend this for heavy duty use by a bigger family...you might want something sturdier. It did arrive with all the necessary screws and parts which was a big worry. Let me start by saying that I am pleased with the cart now that it is assembled, but...I was disappointed when I opened the box to find that part of the cart was damaged. I decided not to wait for a replacement part though because I needed the cart then and it was a part that was inside and wouldn't be seen. I have put together a lot of furniture and have never had problems before so this was a first for me. It was EXTREMELY difficult to put together. I thought that the parts had possibly been pre-drilled incorrectly, but it turns out that they were okay - they just fit together very tight. That is a good thing in the long run, but if you are assembling this by yourself you will be very frustrated as you try to balance all of the hanging parts and make them fit together. So after a very long time, I was excited to have it done and just needed to put the top on. I had waited to open it until I finished the cart, per the directions. I about cried when I discovered that the granite was cracked in half and I couldn't complete the cart. I will say that the company was great and got a new granite top out to me very quickly and I was able to dispose of the cracked one and didn't have to worry about returning it. I am happy with the cart and I think that you would be too - just be warned about the assembly and have somebody to help you if possible as it will save a lot of frustration. see less

My husband put it together without help, he said every piece including the nuts and bolts, was label well and the instructions relatively easy to understand. I had read reviews on other websites about how hard this was to put together. But considering my husband makes furniture and can put anything together, I figured we could handle it. We could, but it took us 4 hours start to finish. This was partly because our shipment included 2 LEFT DOORS instead of 1 left and 1 right. We had to re-drill the cam nut openings on the other door, along with the screws on the other end, and even re-drill the hinges to reverse the door. Of course, we could have called the company who made it, requested a right door, and waited 30 days for it... but we wanted it done. Now that it's together, it looks great and I think we will love it - unless the right door falls off soon because we had to modify it so much. I would only recommend this to someone who is extremely confident about putting together furniture, can make and modify furniture, and who has all day and lots of help in which to tackle it. So, I bought this to create more counter and cabinet space in my kitchen. I was concerned 1) with the quality, and 2) with the ease of assembly. Neither concern was realized. First of all, the piece is sturdy, and its pieces seem well-made. Second, it's a snap to assemble. It only took me about 45 minutes to do the entire thing. The preseated dowels were fabulous, and really aided in the assembly.(NOTE: Ensure you have a powered screwdriver/drill. It will save you lots of time as there are a lot of screws to use when assembling the drawers.) Bottom line--it matches my kitchen perfectly and holds lots of pots and pans. Great piece! see less

All screws and small items came pre-sorted in individually marked packets. This was very handy. In addition an extra screw or peg of each size was included. Love this piece. the quality is good. The assemble took a guy a couple hours. The front of one drawer was not on the drawer correctly, not centered, we are going to repair it ourselves. Target did not answer my email concerning it. Customer service by telephone is difficult. This comes in 3 boxes, and they did not all come the same day, so i was concerend. but arrived in a few days. The side shelves are small, and can fall off easily, but for display, they are ok. see less

[...] Today I put it together myself. It took me about 3 hrs and I suffer from arthritis. What I'm saying is, this is not a difficult assembly. One screwdriver and an allen wrench, which is provided, just read the instructions! The doors are STRAIGHT - the drawer fits and glides perfectly. All pre-drilled holes were perfect. There is even extra hardware provided. I'm amazed and so very pleased - and, well, a little bit sore, too... :-). Do not be afraid of this item. Well worth the time and $$$$.
