This owl light is wonderful for small children! Many other options for nurseries and kid's bedrooms are dangerous because of the cord and access to the lightbulb. This one is fabulous because it is totally safe. Also, the brightness of the light is spot-on - not too dim and not too bright. This was purchased for my 10 mo. old, but my 3 year old quickly claimed it as his. He loves his nightlight for bedtime - sometimes he will read a book by himself before falling asleep. It stays on long enough that he never calls me to turn it back on yet it has an auto shut off so I don't have to turn the light off later. Five stars all around! Very satisfied mom! see less

This nightlight is perfect for late night diaper changes. I prefer to use this so I don't have to turn on the lamp in the room which can be too bright for my little one. Since this is battery operated it is great for travel too. I like to use it to check on my little one when she is sleeping during a late night drive. I love that batteries are included with this - one less thing to worry about. The nightlight automatically shuts off after 20 minutes so you don't have to worry about draining the battery. You can also turn the light off sooner if you would like. I love the owl design and look forward to seeing my little one use this when she is older. see less

This is an awesome product. My daughter is 15 mos and still wakes some nights to nurse. We already use this light frequently because it stays on pretty much the exact length of a night feeding. Its brighter than a night light but not as bright as leaving a light on outside the room. Can't wait till my daughter is older and can use it to go potty or navigate to our room after a bad dream! This is also awesome for traveling! I really appreciated that it came with batteries. I will absolutely recommend this to friends. see less

Bought this lamp for my daughter's room and we love it! Gives life to a little girls room and as much light as you want. I love the three different shades we can choose from. Colors are awesome and you can't beat the price. The lamp was so easy to put together it took me about 8 minutes. Make sure you leave the sticker on the lamp telling you how much wattage the light bulb has to be. Thanks Target for having this at the store. see less

I like the design... I actually bought it to help illuminate things for macro photography. It serves its purpose. But... the plug clicks. It's a soft, rapid and continuous tapping. At first I thought it was my outlet, but I tried other things in the outlet and they do not click. Then I tried this lamp in another outlet, and it clicks. After unplugging, I can even hold the plug up to my ear and hear the clicking slow down and stop. The noise itself isn't loud enough to be bothersome, I'm only worried it means it's got a short inside and it's going to blow up. I wasn't intending to leave it on long anyway, but I thought I would mention this since some people get LED lamps because they don't want a hot bulb with lengthy use. see less

My stepson was absolutely thrilled to get this nightlight. He played with it during the day and then took it to bed with him at night. It's not bright at all, so I don't worry about it keeping him awake, but it's just enough light to be comforting. The fact that it charges during the day and then disconnects from the cable makes it easier for him to put it where he wants it in his room. This light is great. It puts off just enough light that it lets my son see but still sleep. It's made of a rubbery material so it's soft. You turn it on by pressing the top of the truck. After taking the time to learn that it was LED and rechargable, I loved the idea that it was dettachable so my son could hold it in bed and it wouldn't get hot. He loves cars and trucks and right away loved his new nightlight. After 2 weeks it was visably dimmer and no amount of charging would correct it. My son has black out curtains so his room is fairly dark. The nightlight served no purpose in helping illuminate the room. It was that dim. I returned it and decided to get the dinosaur hoping that our truck had been defective. Unfortunately I had the same experience. I tried twice. I purchased this shade for a clients house pairing it with the yellow turned table lamp also from Target. I must say that for the price I had pretty low expectations but I was blown away when I saw this in person. Quality was good for the cost but the style this shade exudes was off the charts. This was quite an amazing find and it was the perfect combo to add a touch whimsy we wanted in their family room. The lightswitch plate is cute and not as distorted as shown in the picture on the website. Plus, the soft plastic that covers all the electronic insides means even my 16 month old son can carry it arround and place it exactly where he would like for bed time. Very cute, got it for a good price. Could be a little brighter so definately not good if you're looking to light up a large area. Great for my son's path to the door. I purchased this when I was pregnant with my now 4 1/2 year old son. We have no problems at all. I was a bit concerned with the whistle in the beginning but as my son grew I advised him it was just for "show" so that he doesnt try to blow it. I purchased a seperate whistle and hung it from the wall with some of his other sports decor and he can take that one up and down as much as he wishes. I bought two of these lamps for my son's sports themed bedroom. They are cute to look at, but the quality is poor. They turn on and off using a "pull chain" with a whistle on the end - admittedly very cute. However, within a month of owning these, both of the whistle cords had broken. I bought new whistles and tied them to the small pieces of cord remaining, but now the cord has come out of the lamp altogether, making them impossible to turn off/on. One of the lamps was on when it broke, so the only way we can use it is to unplug it/plug it in. The other lamp was off when the cord broke, so that lamp is useless. Needless to say, both are going back to Target.... see less

I took me a while to read the instruction but i blame that on being too busy. But once i got around to it, its very easy. We bought this about a week ago and my almost 5 year old has been very successful with it. He was waking a couple of times per night and getting up before 5 am. Now he has stayed in bed until almost 6 am with "pickles" the owl all week until he turns green and sometimes has slept that late too. He LOVES it. You can set it to stay green for 30 minutes also, so I can't see us having an issue with him sleeping past that, but if he does we can start setting it later. Definitely recommend this for early risers! see less

Have 2 of these in my boudior. Such a fun and snazzy lamp. Ignore any negative reviews. Reading the instructions helps prevent damage from misuse. If a lamp is cared for and not left on to burn over 13 hours you will be just fine. The bulb that came with the lamp does not do damage to the lamp. People that misuse the lamp or use it for illumination where it was not intended are what causes damage to this lamp. see less
