This owl light is wonderful for small children! Many other options for nurseries and kid's bedrooms are dangerous because of the cord and access to the lightbulb. This one is fabulous because it is totally safe. Also, the brightness of the light is spot-on - not too dim and not too bright. This was purchased for my 10 mo. old, but my 3 year old quickly claimed it as his. He loves his nightlight for bedtime - sometimes he will read a book by himself before falling asleep. It stays on long enough that he never calls me to turn it back on yet it has an auto shut off so I don't have to turn the light off later. Five stars all around! Very satisfied mom! see less

This nightlight is perfect for late night diaper changes. I prefer to use this so I don't have to turn on the lamp in the room which can be too bright for my little one. Since this is battery operated it is great for travel too. I like to use it to check on my little one when she is sleeping during a late night drive. I love that batteries are included with this - one less thing to worry about. The nightlight automatically shuts off after 20 minutes so you don't have to worry about draining the battery. You can also turn the light off sooner if you would like. I love the owl design and look forward to seeing my little one use this when she is older. see less

This is an awesome product. My daughter is 15 mos and still wakes some nights to nurse. We already use this light frequently because it stays on pretty much the exact length of a night feeding. Its brighter than a night light but not as bright as leaving a light on outside the room. Can't wait till my daughter is older and can use it to go potty or navigate to our room after a bad dream! This is also awesome for traveling! I really appreciated that it came with batteries. I will absolutely recommend this to friends. see less

I think this night light is very pretty and it works well. The issue I have with it is that it sticks out so far from the wall. Unfortunately, the lamp arrived with the clear liquid, water, part very cloudy. From reading on-line, it sounds like this is a rather common problem with lamps from Lava Lite. Some say that after several weeks of on-off cycling the cloudyness may go away. Since it may never go away, and since I don't want to wait weeks, I returned this. see less

My daughter received this as a gift for her 5th birthday. It is the perfect size and just beautiful in her big girl room. She loves the "fancy" touch it adds to her space. We love the extra light she gets from it since her room doesn't have overhead lights. The only tiny negative we have noticed is that the bulbs get extremely hot and put off some heat in the room, just make sure it's hung high enough that little hands won't be able to reach. see less

I like the design... I actually bought it to help illuminate things for macro photography. It serves its purpose. But... the plug clicks. It's a soft, rapid and continuous tapping. At first I thought it was my outlet, but I tried other things in the outlet and they do not click. Then I tried this lamp in another outlet, and it clicks. After unplugging, I can even hold the plug up to my ear and hear the clicking slow down and stop. The noise itself isn't loud enough to be bothersome, I'm only worried it means it's got a short inside and it's going to blow up. I wasn't intending to leave it on long anyway, but I thought I would mention this since some people get LED lamps because they don't want a hot bulb with lengthy use. see less

I was a bit concerned with the whistle in the beginning but as my son grew I advised him it was just for "show" so that he doesnt try to blow it. I purchased a seperate whistle and hung it from the wall with some of his other sports decor and he can take that one up and down as much as he wishes. I bought two of these lamps for my son's sports themed bedroom. They are cute to look at, but the quality is poor. They turn on and off using a "pull chain" with a whistle on the end - admittedly very cute. However, within a month of owning these, both of the whistle cords had broken. I bought new whistles and tied them to the small pieces of cord remaining, but now the cord has come out of the lamp altogether, making them impossible to turn off/on. One of the lamps was on when it broke, so the only way we can use it is to unplug it/plug it in. The other lamp was off when the cord broke, so that lamp is useless. Needless to say, both are going back to Target.... see less

I must say that for the price I had pretty low expectations but I was blown away when I saw this in person. Quality was good for the cost but the style this shade exudes was off the charts. I was excited to see Target carried them at a great price, since the place I used to get them at is now closed. I bought this lava lamp about a month ago and right away it was terrible. the liquid is more yellow than white and the lava stuff is not even black its more of a plum color. it's absolutely hideous. there is stuff on the sides of the lamp that dont float up with the rest of the stuff and it just doesn't look attractive. go to spencers instead and buy a good quality lava lamp... don't waste your money on this. see less

I guess I shouldn't have expected much from something that only cost [$$]dollars. Very poor quality lava lamp. The light bulb socket was crooked in the base. There are little specks of wax stuck all over the inside of the globe that do not come off even when the lamp is warmed up. The wax is darkish purple, not black. The liquid is kind of murky with little particles of something floating around in it. Please don't waste your money on this product. see less

I bought this lamp because of the simple style for a swing arm lamp. It has a heavy base so it won't tip over, easy to assemble and looks great. It probably is closer to black than bronze, but the rib style on the piping is nice. I bought a new shade to match another in the room, but the one that comes with it is OK. Someone mentioned they broke the harp when trying to straighten it. Mine needed a little straightening so I took the harp off the lamp first. Now it is fine. The harp is a cup style harp and is readily available on line, although you might have to buy brass and paint it. Or I am sure a store that sells only lights would have one. For the price this is a good lamp. see less

My son has black out curtains so his room is fairly dark. The nightlight served no purpose in helping illuminate the room. It was that dim.
