It does its job

I bought this for my one-year-old to practice swimming in the pool by himself without an inner tube. He is 34 inches tall and weighs 24 pounds. He immediately rotates onto his back when we are in the pool so we are going to either work on staying upright, or we might have to save it for when he is older, goes to the lake, or we are on a boat. It fits him well although the chest might be a little large around. He can wear it for many years because of the weight limit, but I got this for him because of the infant rating and the head support which is very important for young children on boats. He cannot rotate his head very well or maneuver because of the bulk, but it does the job of keeping him face up in the water. I haven't "used" an infant life vest in over 15 years, since my brother was an infant, but I remember them being less movement restrictive back then.

Can't move head, at all.

We have worn other infant life vests, I know there is limited mobility in the neck/head area but this vest was made a little different. My 19 month old could not move his head at all. The part behind the head would not lay down at all while he was wearing it. Might work better for a smaller baby. We ended up buying a different brand infant lift jacket and will return this.
