We have a ranch, with an area where we host lots of gatherings, and are always on the lookout for affordable, durable, energy efficient lighting to hang in trees, etc. I think we've found it in these! They put out a decent light, while not being too bright/harsh. We've used a lot of twinkle style lights, which we like as well. These seem to cast a bit more light for folks walking around, and wanting to see their way. They seem durable, use little energy, can plug MANY strings together, and bulbs are rated to last 25,000 hours, so should last a LONG time! We ordered 6 sets to start with, and I'm ordering 8 more. I'll let you know if they perform as expected. So far, so good! see less

I've purchased 6 spools of these lights, and not a single have been tangled up as the previous reviewer posted. They have easily unwound from the spool. I had one set of lights where part of the string wouldn't light up, and I easily exchanged it for another set at the store. Overall, these are great lights. I shopped around quite a bit, including at Home Depot, Lowes, Wal-Mart, Ace/Best Value hardware stores, and found these commercial grade lights to be priced the best. Great lights, great value, reputable manufacturer, and ready to go off the spool! I would definitely purchase them again. see less

I thought the lights on the spool would make it easier. However, the lights were not put on properly and in fact were incredibly tangled. We therefore had to untangle it, and one of the lights broke in the process. Once we got the lights up, we were pleased overall. However, I don't think I would buy more of these lights again because of how tangled they were initially. see less

Love this product... only issue is I had purchased them to add to existing bulbs purchased in store, and didn't realize that what I previously had were the 'warm white' led faceted sphere bulbs - and the new ones I purchased are a 'cool white' bulb. Therefore I have a mix of yellow tinted bulbs, and blue-tinted bulbs. I have went ahead and purchased more of the cool white bulbs to switch out w/ my previous sets, which I have no idea what I'm gonna do w/, as the cool white are much 'cleaner' and brighter looking. see less

I wanted some fun lights ... see more

I wanted some fun lights to hang on our porch this summer. I ordered these and was surprised at how cheap they look. I guess if you look really closely at the picture, you could maybe see the big seam that runs around the entire circumference of the bulb, as well as some molded plastic bits that appear every so often along the inside edge. I of course did not notice this, and was expecting a round bulb with no seams. Maybe if they were hidden on a christmas tree they would be okay, but these lights do not cut it to hang up on my porch where they will be in plain sight. So not what I was expecting from Target, which usually has very high quality stuff at good prices. see less

We bought four sets of these last year after Christmas at a great discount however realized that we did not purchase enough. We were hoping to find them again at the after Christmas sale however they remained at full price. We bought two more sets anyways and have them going around our trey ceiling in our bedroom which ads just a touch of something more modern. see less

Hung them up on Thanksgiving. Still going strong. No cords to run, no outlets to worry about. Have them on my porch railings and they look very nice. A little pricey though. But they turn on around 5pm and I have been up at 1 am and they are still on! But if it is cloudy, they don't stay on as long. It is important to make sure the solar panel faces south or southeast for maxium charge. Will buy more next year. see less

I bought 3 sets of these for the evergreen shrubs in my planters between my garage bays, extension cords are not a viable option for that location. I only set up 1 as I was skeptical but now I'm sold. It had a full charge out of the box and worked great. The lights come on as promised at dusk and stay on at least 10 hours. From the street 40' away you can't tell any difference in the brightness of these vs the plug in LEDs. I've been using them for a week now and have had 2 very overcast days, 1 day of constant rain and results have been the same. My solar panel does get light all day and gets direct sun all afternoon. So far I'd highly recommend, can't speak to durability yet. Price is good as a solution where extension cords are impractical but plug ins make sense if you can make them work. see less

This light uses a very specific type of battery that is hard to find. Target doesn't carry them. When the battery quits working, you are pretty much out of luck. I live in Florida and wanted these for use all year round but they really aren't designed for that. I put them up in the middle of October and the battery gave out the middle of January. I am still trying to find that exact type of battery as Phillips told me I had to use that specific one, not just any solar battery. see less

The light color and brightness were fine...but, - single bulbs burned out which are supposed to be longlasting - complete sections of lights went out due to wiring? - finding replacement bulbs is difficult and there are two styles per string. Very aggravating. I think it is just lousy quality. see less

I bought these to string around a hose line cover that climbs up a wall in my back yard. It's a great cover at night. The lights are working great. They last a good six to eight hours and come as soon as the sun starts to set. You do need to remember to switch the button on in back of the solar panel, but otherwise, very easy to work with and so far I am very happy with them. see less

50 ct. is ridiculously short. It looks silly and I have to buy another strand. I wonder why they'd even make a string that short. Also, "cool white" doesn't mean "pure white" like I assumed. They don't look like the "cool white" Christmas lights. They are straight-up BLUE. I still love them, though. see less

I got these to put in a tall vase in my foyer. They look very nice. They have a good balance of lights and curled twigs and the cord is a pretty good length. I don't plan to put them outside, but you might need more than 2 if you were going to. see less
