This is a fine mixer. It performs well, is easy to clean and the cord winding into the body of the mixer is a definite plus. The handle is a bit thick for smaller (read a woman's) hands. But as long as you're not mixing for a prolonged period, this isn't a huge issue. I have one beef, though.... the description on this site indicates it has a 300 watt motor. When I received the mixer however, the packaging indicates it is a only 240 watt motor. Nothing in the enclosed material explains the discrepancy, so I am more inclned to go with the manufacturer's wattage than with this website.
Perhaps you've heard the proverb "fool me once, shame on you...fool me twice, shame on me?" Well, for the SECOND time in less than a year, this Dualit brand hand mixer has failed. The first time, one of the beaters came apart. (on the shaft...bad weld I suppose) In case you're wondering, Dualit is a UK brand...so try to get a replacement shipped to the USA! I ended up buying another mixer to replace the damaged one. (Held onto the receipt and returned it to Target...just to replace a beater!) The second mixer arrived just before Thanksgiving 2006. Worked for a little while. Around October 2007 (less than a year) the mixer itself gave up the ghost. Sounds as if the gears on the inside are stripped. Regardless...it no longer works. Two mixers...one year...both are trash! Save yourself some cash...go with a less expensive (and much better quality) USA brand. Sure...this mixer works well at first...but the build quality is not worth the price! STAY AWAY FROM DUALIT MIXERS!!!
