I almost didn't get this guitar because it was a dog. But my son saw it and was attracted to it. He has five toy guitars, so the last thing we needed was a new one. But unlike the other toy guitars I was impressed that this one uses actual music notes in the scale, and the strumming action was more realistic. You can make it sound like an acoustic or electric, or even a woofer hound. There are 22 songs. All in all, my son loves it, and after I realized how well designed it was, I couldn't pass it up. My 8 month old daughter enjoys playing with her treasure chest and exploring how it works. She especially loves the little coins that come along with the chest. She loves hanging onto the coins and crawling around with them in her hand. As a mom, I absolutely love how this treasure chest plays music and makes other little sounds, but it isn't loud and annoying like so many other baby toys. Even though this toy is meant for babies, my 3 yr. old son loved playing with it, too, and of course, it is easier for him to put the coins in the slots than for my 8 month old daughter. My baby girl needs assistance to get the coins in the slots, but she loves holding them and doing a little dance to the music. She likes tapping on the colorful lights on the top as they play music. What I really like about this new keyboard is the volume. When we turn on the older keyboard the volume starts off rather loud. This keyboard starts off much lower. These were a gift for our children, ages 4 and 1, and we all love them. The sound is like a small windchime - high-pitched and twinkling, and actually very pretty. One end of the mallet is hard plastic and the other end is a bit softer and rubbery, so the sound on that end is slightly muted. The 8 bells make a C scale and each is marked with the letter of the note it represents. Each is also marked with 1 to 8 dots to represent the bell's position in the scale - low C is marked with 1 dot, high C with 8. It can get a little loud when the kids are really banging on it, but on the plus side of that, it seems very durable so far. My only complaint is that the base detaches from the main piece pretty easily - granted, it's marked for ages 3 and up, but when our 1-y-o inevitably gets his hands on it, he constantly takes it apart - so I agree that supervision is a must for the littlest ones. In general, we are huge fans of this toy - and I think the price is incredibly reasonable, too! see less

I originally purchased one of these for my 6-month-old niece - although she obviously can't use it by herself, I was really surprised at how the music notes captured her attention. She loved it when it spun around and she could see a wheel of different colors. Because this toy is actually a great musical instrument as well and comes with the notes for a few songs, I decided to purchase another one for myself, as I am a nanny and am always looking for new ways to engage my charges in music and movement activities. i love this harp! it has great quality and sound. i would suggest buying a chromatic tuner, unless you can tune by ear. it does come with a tuning key. i bought this harp for my 7 month old daughter. she is too young to play, but it is a nice showpiece for now. i enjoy learning to play it, as well. it is the perfect height for a small child, about 2 feet tall. my daughter can sit up on the bench now, so it is great for photos! the strings are durable, but i wouldn't recommend being too rough with them. see less

Also, the app kept crashing and it was quite annoying. So I will be returning it. Secondly, if you have an iPad - save your money and don't buy this. I ordered and received this product within a few days. I quickly opened the box expecting to try a few keys to hear the good quality sound as advertised. The first key I tried was sticking and sounded no better then the cheaper children's pianos my granddaughter already has. I tried a few more keys to see if maybe it was just the first key problem. It was not. While the cabinet is beautiful, the sound quality is awful. I was looking forward to having this in my home for her and am very disappointed with the product. see less
