I bought many of the Avington pieces and they all match perfectly! My delivery came in the rain and had been sitting for hours in the rain, but everything was packed really nicely and with all the styrofoam, everything inside was dry! I've had experience assembling furniture like this, so I did not need the instructions, but overall, you don't need anything more than a Phillips head screwdriver...everything else came in the box. The pieces are real wood, except if a piece has a back piece, which is that MDF, but it is not too flimsy...as a matter of fact, once it's screwed on, it is very durable and really helps to hold everything together. I am very happy with my purchases! see less

I was looking for two night stands on a tight budget. All I could find were small tables with no drawer and they were ugly. When I found these I couldn't believe the price. They were easy to put together, but are not solid. They will do the job and look great, I love that they have a drawer and cabinet for all my husbands gadgets and books. I have two boys under 2yrs old and didn't want anything too expensive that they will end up denting etc. anyways. I do plan on buying some wood to replace the inside bottom, it's just too flimsy and thin. I am overall very happy simply because of the price. I got 5 percent off and free shipping because I have a Target visa card which was awesome. I would buy again, but if I had more money to spend I would get something more solid. see less

This a piece of JUNK. Do not waste your money on it. Wish I read the review before purchasing. The sides are made out of some sort of cardboard. The screws split the ? kind of wood as I tried to assemble. Had to use wood glue to put together. They use some kind of cardboard panels that would not fit, I had to very carefully shave them down otherwise the finish would chip off. You need several hands to assemble. This took me longer to assemble than the sewing cabinet I purchased from an American company. DO NOT waste your money on this product. purchased this night stand for my daughters new apartment. Very disappointed. Although it looks good and the color is great too, the quality is terrible. She put it together and its very wobbly. Months later I flew out for a visit and had to pick up some wood glue and put it together again. Not as bad now. It wasnt worth returning. She doesnt own a car and the it was more of a hassle to break it down and have to take a taxi to the nearest target. DONT RECOMMEND. DONT WASTE YOUR TIME AND MONEY see less

Instructions are very good and easy to follow for this type of assemble-it-yourself furniture. After a brief introduction, the instructions include details of the hardware, parts list and how to use the cam lock system. The main assembly instructions include 9 easy to follow steps including a picture, required hardware & parts and some further details to complete each step correctly. I found all the hardware and furniture pieces easy to identify. The hardware and parts were of very high quality and resulted in a better than average night stand. I am a very proud owner of the furniture i assembled. There are a couple of improvements that i would recommend to further increase the ease of assemble. The wood dowel holes could be drilled with slightly tighter tolerances. Also, a small power screw driver is required to self tap the screws for the slide supports and drawers. It makes assemble go much easier and faster!. see less

It was time consuming to put together but my husband and I took our time, followed directions and it came together smoothly. I was upset about a deep scratch that was on the front of the drawer right out of the box. [...] We could have sent back I'm sure but we were in a hurry to get the room set up. Overall, we are satisfied for what we paid for it. I am curious to see how long it holds up since it obviously scratches easy. I think there is a glitch in the instructions on where to place (F?). (The part that holds the back in place.) I had to put it in a different spot to allow the drawer(s) to be pushed in competely.. One of the drawers (I purchased 2 units) still does not work properly. The screws were difficult to put in. They all had to be forced to go in straight. The wood in the drawer sides is very soft and does not want to hold the screws. I would have like to have known that this is a Sauder product. I probably would have purchased the item anyway but I could have planned my time better to allow for the assembly. see less

I bought this nightstand after using a larger short dresser from a[......] for a long time. The rest of my bedroom furniture comes from that store and I was looking for a nightstand that matched it- color wise. This is much darker and has a more orangey tint than the photo depicts- beware!Otherwise it was fairly easy to put together- I would recommend using a power drill, made it go a lot faster. Including putting together drawers (which I always hate) it only took about an hour. It looks nice and is a great height. see less

I purchased two of these night stands and am overall quite pleased. The stand is the perfect height for my bed, it is sturdy, and the drawer glides smoothly. My only complaints would be that the backing is the natural particle board color rather than black and although the top and trim look good now, I worry that it will easily scuff and ding. My husband, with a little help from our 6 year old, easily assembled both pieces. For the price, especially when compared to furniture store night stands, they are great! see less

I really liked the style of this nightstand and I thought for the price that it would be high quality. However, it was not very easy to assemble. And then when I got to the drawer, the tracks were not too friendly with the drawer so it was difficult to slide in. Then, some of the pieces to the drawer were missing so I ended up having to tape it on the inside. After a couple of months, the bottom front piece had to be taped down in order for it to stay. Then the front part of the drawer fell off. No matter how hard I tried to put it back together, it is now forever broken. I was suprised because I have gotten other furniture pieces from Target and have been very pleased with them. They are usually of very good quailty. I guess it's buyer beware, as usual, and absolutely return it if pieces are missing or you will have to replace it eventually, which I have yet to do. see less

We recieved these nightstands very quickly (about 3 days) and they took about 40 minutes each to assemble. When finished they were just great! They look much more expensive than they are and they are also very large and roomy. The colour is very true to the picture, dark in soft light and with a slight reddish tint in the bright. Now the back is just cardboard, but it's up against the wall anyway so you can't tell--they are tall enough and much larger than I expected--all in all for the price these were fantastic and we were delighted. see less

I was looking for temporary furniture and came across this. It looks wonderful! All the pieces were in great condition (no scratches). I put it together by myself- took about an hour. Fitting the drawer in the nightstand was the most difficult and time consuming part. Since the "sliders" are made from plastic it doesn't slide very easy. If you want something that looks nice and is semi-functional this is the nightstand to get! It is VERY sturdy. Once again, the drawer does work it just doesn't slide easy. see less

This nightstand is perfect. As the other reviews say, it does take a while to put together. There are a lot of individual pieces and you need some really good strength to get the screws secure when you match the pieces up. Took an hour each - I bought two. The drawers are nice and roomy, only complaint was that the drawer slides are plastic and I am afraid how they are going to stand up to time, and the sliders are not on metal or anything, the rollers are little plastic rings so it is a bit stiff rather than smooth drawer closing. Overall I would definitely recommend as they are modern, sleek, stylish, durable, and inexpensive. Definitely worth it! see less

After spending 4 hours assembling the dresser, I managed to throw this together in about half an hour, which was great!As with the dresser, the drawers have a kind of safety latch system which prevents them from being pulled all the way out when they are opened. The "pine" finish looks good in my daughter's room, with the decorative handles adding a nice feminine touch to the whole look.Make sure you have someone strong on-hand when it is delivered. [delivery] left it at our garage door (they didn't even ring the door bell to see if anyone was home) and my husband had to heave it into the house once he was home from work (no mean feat!).Overall, I am really pleased with this night stand. As with the dresser, there is no way that I could have got this inside the house, as it was just too heavy. see less

I ordered a 5-drawer dresser, a 6-drawer dresser, a headboard, and two night stands. I won't say assembly is a breeze, but if you've ever put pre-fab furniture together before it's not difficult. The furniture looks really good when put together. I was surprised to find that it looks better than it does online (as opposed to the usual). It looks great and performs exactly as you would expect it to for the price. This is great furniture for anyone with a tight budget. Important to note though...the 6-drawer dresser, and only the 6-drawer dresser, came with a touch-up pen that perfectly matched the finish and magically covered up any and all minor scuffs and scrapes that you would expect to see. If you intend to order this furniture with out the 6-drawer dresser I would highly recommend contacting the manufacturer (South Shore Furniture) to get the matching Cherry touch up pen. see less

This is really complicated and time consuming to set up. Unless you have excellent spatial visualization skills and hand-eye coordination and lots of time, I don't recommend ordering. see less

This thing is a monster to assemble-I'm pretty good with furniture assembly, and it took me 2 hours! It even comes with a packet of glue, which is a total mess to try to use. Luckily I had a tube of wood glue at home. You will also need a phillips head scredriver, a hammer, and although it doesn't call for it, a rubber mallet comes in very handy.The drawer pulls and feet look like metal in the photo, but they are actually silver-colored plastic. I was looking for a very narrow nightstand but a normal height. I guess I didn't pay attention to the dimensions very well; this thing is TINY! It's like an elfin nightstand! If you have your mattress on the floor, with no frame, it will probably work for you, but if you have a bed frame, boxspring and mattress, it will only be about 1/2 the height of your bed. see less

Drawers are not intended for heavy items - drawers have plastic glides which seem ok given the size of drawers, quiet. Drawer bottoms could be thicker - they appear to be 1/8 to 1/4 pressed material. Again, would emphasize that I would not put real heavy items in drawers. Overall very happy with item. Looks Great and a good value for the price. I purchased this nightstand for my son's room and I was very pleased with the purchase. Assembly was ultra easy (it took me 20 minutes to assemble and I was watching tv as I assembled it), largely due to the simplistic nature of the instructions. Kudos to whomever scripted the instructions; they need to give seminars in furniture assembly instruction manuals because some instructions are heavily convoluted and offer no diagrams. Yes, the nightstand is somewhat smaller in height than a typical nightstand, but that is because it is intended to be used with the rest of the furniture in the collection, which is also shorter in height than average. I bought two of these to match an existing dresser [from another retailer]. They look good, but are very cheap. They do not open smoothly, and the doors don't match up evenly after assembly. The white melamine doesn't even cover the edges.Not worth the asking price (glad I got them on sale with free shipping!) see less

This thing is a piece of junk... please, please, please do yourself a favor and don't buy this nightstand. Target has definitely over-priced this nightstand. The drawers do not slide easily... you have to hold the top of the nightstand and pull the drawer otherwise it'll pull over. There are scratches in the paper laminate before even putting the nightstand together. The fronts of the drawers do not line up properly... I purchased two of these, and the top drawer of one and the bottom drawer of the other look crooked. The plastic handles on the fronts of the drawers are all scratched up and have paint that has flaked off. I feel like I got totally ripped off (because I did...) see less

Love the look and easy to put together. However when I went to aline the drawer according to the directions, the front of the door broke off. I paid way to much to have the door of the drawer fall off during assembly, having not even used it yet. see less
