I had been looking for a while for something wide enough that wasn't cheesy and didn't cost a fortune. After looking in several high end stores I saw this online and took a chance.....boy was I delighted with the end result! It was like the vision in my head translated to the room. High end style well worth the much cheaper price. The back is hidden being up against the wall, but really, who looks at the back anyway? I personally like the cushions, but I can always change them whenever I want. We plan on putting black skid resistant matting under the baskets to take care of any potential scratches some of the previous reviewers mentioned. I just purchased this bench and it was lighter than I thought it would be. The legs were all on and nothing was broken. I have it my room now and it adds so much to the vintage effect! I love the script, it is in a dk brwn, and the fabric is a linen texture and color...very close to the picture. The legs are dk brwn so I'll be painting them white to match my other furniture. It can hold a king size quilt, sheets, and a standard pillow for guests...perfect. Also, I sat on it and it is comfy but i can tell it's not made for sitting on all the time, or for a heavy individual...but good enough. I have a picture of it in my room, but cannot post it here. Just got my order today and I LOVE it! As mentioned in other reviews it is darker than it appears in the picture online. The hinge on it is great. It closes very slowly so if you are concerned about little fingers as I was you don't have to worry. It's the perfect size for storing toys in our small living room. Definitely not large enough that it takes up too much space but it still stores a lot of toys. Seems will made though I might be concerned if someone very heavy sat on it. But it will definitely hold the average person. see less

I originally saw this at my local Target store at regular price and thought it was too pricey, then Bam! the following week it went on sale for 25 percent off. I had to have it My initial intention for this ottoman was for a seat by my bedroom window and some extra storage but instead I replaced my office chair that I used for my vanity table with this ottoman. The seat is comfortable to sit on. The tufted buttons look secure and do not bother me while sitting. The overall design is very cute. I love the golden little nail heads on the bottom trim which gives it character. I would like to add that the entire ottoman feels cushioned so that if I or anyone ever walks into it, it wouldn't hurt. The legs are absolutely adorable and the storage makes this such a great piece to add to a bedroom collection. I'm extremely happy with this ottoman and very satisfied with its quality. It sometimes makes it very difficult for people like me to get the truth about a product because some people will just complain about everything. Anyway, this product is great! If you read the dimensions of the product before you purchase, you will know that this product is not meant to be a large ottoman and the photos show the comparison next to a chair. This item is perfect for storage and I purchased 2 of them and see no major variances in color and it matches my wicker ottoman purchased from another vendor. This storage ottoman far exceeded my expectations. I saw a beautiful chair in this script pattern in a department store for close to [$] dollars, and in my mind thought, "I wish!" Imagine my surprise and delight when I ordered this ottoman, and found that it is practically identical, in style, look and quality, to the chair I found that was over 10 times the price of the ottoman! It's beautiful, classy, elegant--and truly looks like it would be worth way more than I paid for it. People can't believe I got it at Target. And while it's a great size for both putting your feet on and for storing things--it works wonderfully for storing blankets, pillows, etc.--it's not too large like some ottomans I've seen. This was very easy to put together. It came in 3 pieces, the seat and each side/legs, and took about 8 bolts to put together. It feels sturdy. The red is a deeper red than it appears on the website, and the wood is a very dark brown. It is, IMHO, a bit stubbier than I expected. That is, it is fairly short length-wise and it is fatter/sticks out from the wall more than I expected. Two thin people could sit side-by-side, but there would be little room to spare. We looked for an upholstered ottoman to replace our coffee table for nearly a year before stumbling across this piece. Purchased it online before hosting a big get together in May of '12 so that I wouldn't have to make the hour drive to the nearest store. Still had to make the drive - the original showed up damaged. the underside of the upholstery had a 16" cut in it, which didn't go all the way through, but you could tell where it was. I exchanged instore, making sure to check the replacement over thoroughly before walking out the door. other than that, it has been wonderful. No worries about small children hitting their heads on a hard coffee table anymore. It's easy to clean and looks great in our informal living room. I've also added baskets to the shelf underneath for remote and reading material storage. Originally we wanted leather, but in the end this was by far the better upholstery choice.We love it! see less

Overall I LOVE this ottoman. It is made of linen and I would call the color a French yellow. The very popular color or deep yellow found in stores now --I got an adorable lamp shade at Target that is an exact match! this brought my whole room together. It does take awhile to get as they drop ship it from the mfg. Oh and the legs are inside the ottoman! There is Velcro on one of the sides and once you open, there you will find the legs zip tied to the inside of the frame! The first ottoman I got was damaged. The linen looked like it had ripped. I was sure glad I kept the first one until I received the second as my first set of legs were espresso colored the second were black! Those wouldn't have gone in my room at all! Saw this at Target before it went on sale and thought it was lovely. When I opened my Sunday paper and saw the sale price, I jumped in the car and went to get it since I remembered there was only one of each color on the shelf. I feel like I totally scored! Even at full price it was still a good deal. The ottoman feels sturdy and like the pleats will hold forever more. I feel like it looks much lighter in the picture than it is in real life, which is what I wanted. So if you want something a little darker than in the picture and don't want to pay over a hundred dollars, but this ottoman and you likely won't regret it. see less

I really wanted to love this ottoman. It's a gorgeous rich plum color and nice feeling fabric, but it's constructed really cheaply. First off the core seems to be some sort of light particle board material which isn't a deal breaker but then the fabric is just stapled to it and not even securely. The staples come out with a gentle tug, i.e. moving it around. I don't want to keep re-attaching and adjusting the fabric after each use. Alas, while I do think this is a beautiful piece, I'm returning it. I'd rather spend some more money and get better quality. see less

I should have paid closer attention to the measurements because you can only fit DVDs one deep, but that's my fault. it works perfect for what we use it for otherwise. we have a layer of DVDs and then put our Wii guitars on top of that. Nice and out of the way. Sturdy enough to sit on, although we honestly don't. It sits in the corner with a breakfast tray on top of it and we use it like a side table. it's a pretty okay fake leather, but i wasn't really expecting it to be super high quality for the price. Easy to keep clean. Make sure you have a little clearance behind it for opening the lid. The hinges have been good an sturdy for us so far. Overall, very happy with it. see less
