I just threw out my 'non-stick' pans and went with all cast iron. I have a frying pan I've used for almost 40 years, and decided I wanted the other pans to be the same. This pan is great, medium sized, well seasoned. It works both as a large sauce pan and a small frying pan.
I love my new skillet, this is my first cast iron and I'm so glad I finally got one. My brussell sprouts came out nicely charred with such little heat!! I could never get char and crisp with any other pan or grilling appliance.
FYI, the store price is a few [$] higher than what they show you online. Also, "limited stock" seems to mean it is not in the store.
Sure, I'm only a Junior in college at [a university] in Wisconsin but I am one for good quality items and these Lodge 'Cast Iron' products are truly amazing!
Surprisingly wasn't that bad at all, paid only [$] and gosh golly has this pan cooked it all and still looks like it did the day i bought him.
OUTSTANDING! These pans were built to last! The only minor problem I have with this pan is the organic corrosion of the pan.
Would I recommend this product? ABSOLUTELY!
My mom has ALWAYS owned a skillet like this & you can definitely tell the difference cooking in these skillets compared to regular old pans in a "pots and pans set". The taste & smell of food is so much stronger & fresh! My husband is a great cook & had always wanted one of these skillets & my parents bought it for us. We use it at least 4 times a week if not more.

Great skillet, fantastic price, needs to be seasoned
Bought this skillet and right away I needed to season it even though it says it is pre-seasoned. My food stuck to it right away. This is still a great staple in your cookware collection and the price is fantastic. Makes food taste out of this world! Everyone should own a Lodge skillet.
This is exactly what I hoped for, and even better because it really was pre-seasoned as advertised. This pan is great for cooking all kinds of things, and there is a reason our grandmothers loved their iron skillets. (You do have to remember to care for it properly though. Don't leave it full of water or put in the dishwasher.) This is just the right size to cook for one person, and also not too heavy because it is only 8". I thought it was a great price, too.
I only recently began cooking in cast iron after my Teflon pans wore out and I couldn't replace them with any heavy duty pans (they just don't make 'em like they used to).I was always afraid of cast iron because you can't wash them with soap, but I'm getting over that. These really clean up nicely with just some water and a nylon dish scrubber or brush. This is a nice, heavy duty pan with a heavy duty lid. I think I will get many years of use out of it -- much more than Teflon pans.
I got this as a gift for afriend of mine who had lost her old cast Iron skillet to a fire, that she had had for years and she says that she was able to cook a pot roast, fry chicken, and make a pineapple upside down cake, all in the same day with out seasoning the pan, and none of them stuck or tasted of other, she just loves it, and can't wait to get another one, so thanks for makeing this gift so special.
You dont have to wait to go camping again. This would be great for stove top or oven cooking as well. I bought the 12in skillet and I use it for everything and its a cinch to clean. I LOOOOVE this line. I cant wait to get this one since its covered. I love to cook juicy veggies and meat for the family and have been having to use a pizza pan or foil with the 12in skillet.I wouldnt even fry in it. Something about these pans. You dont have to add oil to fry or bake. Images of healthful delicious meals are dancing in my head!
