This book can answer pretty much any questions you may have about your baby all the way to the first year. It keeps you from wanting to call the pediatrician every 5 minutes. I read a little bit every night, since we're expecting our first child, and already feel more confident on the information I've learned. see less

It covers the basics and has chapters for each month for baby and what to expect in each month of development. I will definitely buy more of the what to expect series. see less

Not only is this book entertaining but SO informative! It includes a 2 week "survival guide" that my husband & I lived by, with our first born. It was so helpful to remind you of what was important & that you needed to forget the rest! We had so many questions with our first child & this book really answered them all. I even used it in the middle of the night, when he was 9 months old, running fever & vomiting. Which was very scary for first time parent. So I was very thankful I had something to refer to! The grandparents even picked it up occasionally, flipped through it & was amazed at what they learned. Now that our son is almost 2, I just purchased Toddler 411 & I look forward to learning from that one. Enjoy! see less

Not only does it tell you how to make wonderful meals for baby, it gives you advice on when to start certain foods and a unique way to freeze portions! I like it so much I am putting it on my registry for my first due in February! The sweat potato, apple, chicken is a favorite not only for the baby for the adults too! see less

Definately consider this as a must read! I have seen a huge improvement in my son's sleeping habits and happiness level. I have also begun to realize WHY my child needs so much sleep, and how to get him to easily go down for bed/naps. My 3 mo old is sleeping 11 hours at night and takes long morning and afternoon naps and a short evening nap. He is always so happy when he wakes up! Smiling and ready to play. see less

This book has a TON of information. It gets a little statistical sometimes, which I think I would have appreciated more reading before the baby got here. Instead, I bought it in desperation trying to get my colicky baby to sleep and found it hard to absorb and/or make choices on the information and options when I was already massively sleep-deprived. Granted, the book explains how to go about reading it if you are already sleep-deprived and dealing with an extremely fussy baby; I just know that if you are an information person, like me, you will do a little better with this book if you can get it before baby arrives. Overall, though, it really is a fantastic resource for getting babies to sleep! see less

My daughter had colic her first 4 months and it was very difficult. Nothing could calm her once she started screaming. I tried everything. I read this book and did the "S's" and it really calmed her down quickly. I was AMAZED. Any parent with a newborn needs to read this. see less

Filling it out so far has been a joy. It comes with a lot of little paper frames. I used one to frame my sonogram picture in the book. There is a place for my baby shower invitation as well as a page to write down details. It also has pages to write down information about mom and dad. Also a page to write down your thoughts before the birth and a page for after the birth. The book also has clear envelopes glued to pages to store keepsakes like the baby's hospital bracelet. And of course, pages for hand & foot prints! The journal keeps record for baby's first three years. And even comes with a growth chart. I love that it's spiral bound so the book will always close even after you cram it full of memorabilia. see less

I got this book for my wife for Christmas. She absolutely loves it. We already used it for two recipes, and have plans for more tonight and this week. I and my 5 year old son HATE cauliflower. Last night we made the macaroni and cheese from the book with cauliflower puree in it.....we both LOVED it. Better than boxed mac and cheese any day. And my son is a mac n cheese connisseur, for him to say the homemade was better when it had cauliflower in it is an amazing feat! Outstanding book. I've had this cookbook for a few months now and a bunch of Jessica's recipes have ended up in my regular rotation (pink pancakes, chocolate avocado pudding, mac and cheese, etc.). I feel good because my boys are eating better and so are Daddy and I! It's also great because it's given me ideas on how to get more veggies in meals in general, beyond her recipes. I definitely recommend this if you want your family to eat more veggies. see less
