The idea for this toy is perfect. You assemble a track, add codes to the track that allow you to control both the sounds and the actions of the cars.
The little car has a light and bar code reader on the bottom of it that scans while it drives and acts out whatever it passes over. There are small raised "rails" on the track that the car follows using rubber "feelers" on the bottom of the car. However... the car refuses to follow said rails. Absolutely refuses. For some reason the car will just go over the rails, or on intersections, where there is no railing, the car just drifts off to the side, and goes the wrong way or gets stuck. It seems like absolutely no QA was done on the finished product.
All in all the car simply cannot do even one full lap without human intervention. We want to love this but will probably end up taking it back because my son is getting frustrated with it.
And Target your review restrictions are absurd.
