You have made a forgettable hip-hop album. The only truly good songs are "Morning After Dark" and "Say Something." I recommend you just download a few songs off of iTunes. And "Carry Out" is horrible. Too many fast-food-as-*** metaphors. Timbaland, I'm sorry, but you failed.
X would have to be my least favorite album from her Parlophone catalogue. While some of the songs are certainly enjoyable on their own, they don't really work together to create a meaningful album... although I'm guessing that wasn't really Ms. Minogue's intention when she wanted to jump back into the music scene after cancer. The main issues I have with this album are that the songs just sound generally overproduced and don't carry much meaning throughout the record. I think the album is aptly titled because there is so much experimentation going on that I don't even know how to classify the work as a whole. In my view, Light Years was campy disco on the beach, Fever was even more electronic but still suited to its name, and Body Language was slower, more 'minimal,' but still sensuous.
I don't even know what X is. If you've never heard Kylie before, I would start with any of the aforementioned CDs or Aphrodite. But not this.
