I found that it does retain the current time during power outages and the dual alarm system fits my daily schedule well. And it's attractive and inexpensive. No more need to touch a backlight at night, when I am at home. I had this puppy set to my time zone in less than 1 minute. I am deaf, and wont use the radio, only the buzzer alarm and time. Per the other reviews, I felt I couldn't go wrong with this purchase. It also beat finding a clock online, and waiting for it to arrive; also, paying shipping costs. Ok, this is what it is. It's a small alarm clock. If you want excellent deep stereo sound that will fill the room, don't buy an alarm clock. All I wanted was something that would charge my iPhone 4S, de-clutter my nightstand, and wake me to FM radio. This one is perfect. BEST OF ALL - it works with iPhone 4 WITH THE BUMPER. It did not default my phone to vibrate. I can wake to FM radio, a beeping, or playing the ipod music if I want. I use the FM wake up mode and then the phone's internal Alarm as a backup and it works great. I don't know what the previous reviewer meant by screen too dim, there are 4 settings. Anyway, I looked for a while for something that was simple, small, inexpensive and worked with my iphone without removing the bumper. Would recommend this to anyone. see less

For some odd reason it defaults the iPhone to vibrate only when its docked into the charger, rendering my alarm useless to a tone of vibration instead of the alarm ringer.The screen is very dimly lit and it is hard to read for me at more than 3 feet distance. The only one actually worth turning on for light is the brightest one.I would get their more expensive model, but it takes up too much of my night stand. see less

Not much of a music radio, but OK for weather. Many pages of directions, but what it does not do is to stop with the alerts after I have heard the first one. The alert beeping keeps repeating and repeating. For exapmle, if there is a servere thunderstorm warning issued for your area from 1AM to 4AM, the radio will keep turning itself on and beep as it replays the warning every 10 minutes or so until the warning ends. In real life use, this is a bit annoying. see less

We receive great reception on the radio, and she feels very grown up to have her own clock radio. We also enjoy the little night light feature- the lemon slice actually lights up! I am very pleased with how the nightlight can be turned on/off manually and is not on a timer- it is very reassuring to my daughter to have the light on all night. Additionally, the light gives off just the right amount of glow so as to lighten up the room but not flood it in too much light which could prevent one from sleeping well. I bought this clock a year ago, and it is still in amazing condition. Although the alarm is a tad loud, it keeps me from going back to sleep again. There is even a Hello Kitty snooze button! The radio, I don't really use it, but the sound is muffled. The time is GREAT. It doesn't change like the other reviews said. But when the power's down or it is unplugged, it's a pain to set the time back. The lemon night light is not too bright, not too dim. It's perfect. Overall, it is the BEST DIGITAL CLOCK EVER. I just bought this at my local target store, and it is great! The last ipod alarm clock I had left my ipod screen on continuously, which really defeated it's purpose when you're trying to go to sleep in the dark. This clock not only lets the ipod screen stay off, but it also gives you the option of dimming it's clock display three levels, and then to completely off. The alarm sounds at a low volume, and gradually increases, which I prefer. The alarm will go off for up to an hour, and has a nice, large snooze button. Sound quality from the speakers was surprisingly nice for an alarm clock. The only downside I found, was that there is only one settable alarm time. Having two would have been nicer, so I gave features 4 stars instead of five. Aslo, on a side note, if you are using the line-in feature for a different style mp3 player, be aware that you cannot use it as an alarm clock, only as speakers. see less

I think waft people don't get is that the battery only operates the clock, not the light. If you don't plug it in the light doesn't show. I guess the Batterys just truly a "Backup" I live it though! Wow, I read the other reviews and I was surprised. I bought this about a year ago for my son whose now 6 and we love it. It has always worked just fine despite my 2 yr slamming her hand on it to change the colors rapidly. I was planning on buying one for my nephew b/c it's the coolest kid clock I found. The Bluetooth connection setup for this unit has a HUGE gap in that the Sound Rise unit totally forgets its pairing as soon as the music turns off. That means you have to re-pair your phone or iPad with it every single time the music tries to turn on, making it totally unable to wake you with music from your device. I have an iPhone 5, so it can't dock through the 30 pin connector and has to connect via Bluetooth. The dock doesn't accommodate our iPad case, so that also has to connect via Bluetooth. It is also extremely annoying when the sleep timer runs out, and you want to just tap the sleep timer again for an extra 15 minutes of music because you're still awake and you have to reach over to fidget with your phone & radio to get it paired again. Actually, annoying in general throughout the day. Despite the awesome sound quality, I'm strongly considering returning the Sound Rise entirely due to this issue. see less

Just opened the box and this radio is a pure deception. Design is amazing, great retro look, beside the ACL display, but built quality is fair. Sound quality is a disaster. Tuner is not a real digital one, the rotating knob is not precise enough and you can loose your radio station very easy. I would have prefer an analog tuner but with more precise tuning knob. The auxiliary plug is bad, if you plug it to your Iphone/Ipod be careful not to move your Mp3 device to change a song, you could lose input sound right away. ACL display is flickering, sometimes is very dimmed and other times too bright. I don't think I will buy any Crosley product again. They sure look good but this is it. Real scam. see less

The only CON is the alarm off button, which is one among several other small, identical buttons, and is hard to find if the room is dark. I really like the blue display backlight on the low setting. The highest setting is definitely too bright and lights up the room. The nature sounds are a nice feature, too. It's nice to wake up to an ocean sound or birds chirping. I also like having the option to listen to music on my phone via the MP3 jack. Overall, other than the small alarm off button, this is a great clock radio. You will need to read the instructions once in order to set the alarms, but it is easy to use thereafter. see less

This clock radio has EXCEPTIONAL reception, it plays FM and AM stations better than my stereo receiver. The sound quality is excellent, the presets are something I demand in a radio, why should a car only have presets? The nature sounds are pretty good, I have used them to mask some ambient noise a couple of nights. The control buttons are very difficult to locate and use at first but once you get used to them they're okay, I've actually put some of those tiny stick on rubber bumpers on a couple of buttons and it's great. The blue display is quite bright at first but after a night or two it was fine. The temperature display is nice. Of the six radios in my house this has by far the best reception of any of them. This is a super slick looking unit, would I buy it again?, I already ordered another one for my bathroom. see less

We even tried cleaning the tub. The other issue is that it won't turn off...even when the knob is clearly turned to OFF, it still keeps playing, so if you want your batteries to last at all you need to take them out, which is a problem because it requires a screwdriver and took me about 30 mins, not because I couldn't figure it out, but because the water seal fell out and I had a bugger of a time getting it to stay in place and still close the battery compartment. So, bottom line, I started with low expectations, and this product fell well below what I had hoped for. Will be returning it soon. see less

We bought it for use in a hot tub. It is waterproof which is the main reason we bought it but also the fact if would float in the tub was another reason. The problem with it is when water gets into the speaker you have to pick the radio up and blow or shake the water out of the speaker so it works again. Mainly we just sit it on the side of the tub and don't worry about taking it inside when we are done. For what we use it for we are happy with the performance, it seems to have decent reception and as long as the speaker is kept dry, it seems good to go. see less

word of caution - if you expect this clock to be colorful all the time, it is not. none of those colorflashy clocks are all the time. imagine I don't know what other clocks would show you colorful screen all the time but don't count on the battery operated ones.. maybe electric that are running on wall power. I don't like them or need to waste more energy then needed so if you are looking for slick and modern perfect cute clock give it a chance. do not open them at store looking for bright displays though because it is not gonna happen, you need to put batteries and then flip the screen and you see beautiflul blue green light flip again.. for gorgeous red, for purple. yellow, whisper blue.. etc.. the colors are aaaaaaaaaaaaaaaawsome and so is the clock. see less

DIRECTIONS First of all hold down the "s" button to set the time, date etc. If you want the pretty colors to change and to scroll the whole time, you have to hit the "on" button. However, since this is battery operated, who knows how long the batteries will last if you just left it scroll through colors all day. My suggestion is to put it on scroll when you need it. For example, I got this for the bathroom so I can see the time when I am getting ready in the morning. This is when I would flip on the scroll. Its a decent clock with a cool color option for the money. see less

I almost did not buy this clock due to most of the reviews I read. I received a spa alarm clock for Christmas and did not like it so returned it. The price of that alarm clock was [...] not at Target, without the projection, so I thought I would spend about that for a good one. I started searching and found many were [...] but somehow I came across this one. I was a bit hesitant bc of the reviews but the price was right. I only give this 4 stars bc I also think the quality is rather cheap. It is very light weight and the buttons very sensitive. The only other issue is the direction of the projection, the range is a bit limited. Personally I can see the projection rather well. I do not think the clock itself is bright, there is a setting that allows to dim the clock. The sounds work well, which is the reason I really wanted this clock. Over all it's a good clock, and I think the value is great, especially with what I have seen out there. see less

While most functions work great as advertised, the overhead display (a key component of a DISPLAY CLOCK) is lacking in clarity. Since most folks don't sleep with glasses on, a crystal clear projection of the time would be nice. I can tell that it is not a focus issue, since the unlit bars in the time and temperature display are visible. These white/gray bars make the light blue display difficult to read even with glasses on. I am willing to live with it, since the sounds are what get me to sleep. I also like the fact that you can read the primary display without having to hit a button to light it up.3 Stars because of the display problem. see less

This little radio was quite surprising. The clarity is way better than I thought given such a small radio, but even with the volume cranked, not only is it loud, it is very clear. The controls are easy to use, even with wet fingers. The only reason I only rated it 4 stars is because on the one I received, the suction cups are not all level with each other, so it fell twice (during the night of course.) I eventually got three of them level and it has been several weeks now, and it hasn't budged. You will need to clean each suction cup with rubbing alcohol, as well as the surface you're sticking it to.Still, I would recommend this to anyone who just wants a simple shower radio. see less

Found out the hard way -unwanted alarms waking everyone up- that once you program an alarm on this clock radio, there is no way to program it to "off" without pulling the plug and resetting the whole unit! Since it doesn't have a 5 day alarm setting to start with, this is a great way to ruin your Saturday morning. Even when you think you have toggled the alarm to "off" in program mode and no alarm bell shows on the display, what you will find is that the setting does not take and the alarm will go off anyway. Two calls to tech support an this could not be resolved so the clock went back. Too bad because otherwise it would have been pretty decent. see less

I LOVE this thing! If you are having problems with setting alarm volume or what you will wake up to - read the instructions. I know, I know...seems silly, but it really did take a little playing around to figure it out. You CAN set the alarm volume different than your ON/OFF volume. Meaning, you CAN "sleep" with music quietly and wake up with it blaring, if neccessary, in the morning. I have found that -for me- the buzzing wasn't quite loud enough and that I wake better with music -and it is only on 1/2 volume! Oh, and the charger still works great too. Hope this helps! see less

It is easy to set alarm time and the auto set day light saving time feature is nice. I just moved it to my computer desk and it is reading 4 min fast. I have always had trouble getting up in the morning, let alone getting up that early, so they figured that combined with my love of music made this the perfect gift, and they were right. It is very simple to use, very user friendly, and it gently wakes you - it starts buzzing a minute before you actually need to wake up, but it is very quiet. As it slowly gets louder, you slowly wake up. It's a much more enjoyable "wake up" experience, and the buzz is less annoying than alarm clocks I have had in the past. Overall, I would so totally recommend this to a friend. Actually, I have! And a few of them ended up going out to get one and love it just as much as I do!! see less

Got this for my 4 year old when he started Pre-School the fall of 2012...it is easy enough for him to use. Got it as a "big boy" alarm clock so he can wake up for school on his own... He also loves music and can turn on and listen to the radio. I have no problem gettnig a clear station...sound quality isn't the best, but its a tiny little radio with very small speaker, can't expect it to be much better. My favorite things about it are the increasing volume for the alarm, and the easy on off function for setting the alarm as well as a snooze. been great for us. see less

I got this little Clock Radio for my son's 11th Birthday in August. He loves listening to the radio in his room and needed an Alarm clock, so I bought this combo hoping to cover both needs. It is now December 1st, and I am looking for a new Alarm clock and Radio for Christmas. The radio is worthless, he could not pick up any FM stations, but he said he found an AM station, no music...but he listened anyway, and it was full of static. I kept it for the Alarm Clock, but last week, we moved the clock to another table in his room. Unplugged it and replugged it and no power. I tried every outlet in teh room even the one it had previously been plugged into. It just won't work! Completely dead So we got 3 months 2 weeks out of this purchase. I have had the same 5 dollar timex alarm clock since I was a teenager and I am still using it. What is the deal with products that don't last? Only nice thing, I liked how it looked, but looks don't help when it doesn't work. see less

I asked for this radio for Christmas. I liked the compact retro styling. I plugged it in, and found that the radio emits a faint hiss, even with the volume turned to off. It also does not seem to tune stations well. I chose a local station, and it wasn't very clear. Taking it back, alas. see less

I received this radio as a Christmas gift and returned it to the Target store after using it for just one day. While it has a digital display, it isn't digital tuning. It's very difficult to get the radio tuned to any station and the display will only show the general area near the station's actual numbers. The audio is very muddy and not good for music. This is not a good choice. see less
