We received two of these for Christmas. Everyone in the family was fighting over who gets to play with it. It is easy for my son to play with. He is nearly two. And easy for dad, grandma and big sister to play with too! It works well on our carpets. No issues. I highly recommend this. see less

My 3 year old son was so excited to get the Steam and Speed Thomas. It is a must have for your little Thomas fan! It is easy for little hands to control and seems like a sturdy toy that will last a long time. The steam feature isn't my sons favorite feature he just loves to drive the train all over the house. My son who is almost 3 has a blast with this car and it's worth the price. It's a great start off car. Since we're Italian and Francesco is my dad's middle name it's a great remembrance of him. My 6 year old son was so excited to get this truck, but that changed to sadness when the truck wouldn't work. The controller is awful and unless he followed the truck around it didn't steer at all. We returned it the same day. Spend a little more on a better rc vehicle, it will be worth it. see less

We have bought many an r/c car over the years, and this is by far the best. It is simple to use, durable, and responsive. Our 9 year old takes it up and down the side walk, the walkways, even can drive it "curbside" if he's careful. It has fallen off the curb a few times, jumped off a made up ramp, and through some sprinkles (not completely getting wet), and works great. You may not be able to tell, but as you turn the wheels left and right, the eyes move left and right, which is pretty cool too. I can't recommend this enough as a well made, easy to use r/c car. see less

I love the rechargeable battery. That's the only reason for the 2 stars. This Big truck cannot run on grass. I am a mother who is not into RC until my little boy wants one. It should not be called full function if it cannot run on grass. Because its big size, it has wide turns, so unless you have a big empty space in your house, you cannot enjoy it indoor neither! see less

It looks like a cute monster truck, but looks are deceiving. It is made with a cheap plastic, and is not worth the money. It is not exciting, does the simple controls, straight, backwards, left and right. Very disappointed when it did not drive over small things, it just stopped. see less

My 6 year old loves this car. We got it on sale for [$$] and it was well worth the extra [$]-[$] compared to the many [$$]-[$$] cars we've tried. First of all, this is a kids dream. He can do power slides with ease, it has good speed, sharp turning and looks great. We place our iPod under the hood and crank up the tunes and pretend we have a "premium sound package." The battery life seems good and the charging time (4 hrs the first time, about 2 thereafter) seems reasonable for the amount of fun we have. This car rocks! The turn signals even come on as you turn right & left! This has the more advanced dial/trigger control style so it is a bit advanced for someone if they have little experience with R/C cars. Performs excellently on a smooth surface. I think they perfected these tires for slides and skids on a nice surface. It doesn't handle bumpy surfaces well.Within the first 15 seconds my kid did the sweetest power slide-u-turn you'll ever see. Things have just gotten better from there.Doors and front hood open too. Rechargeable battery.Make sure to double check your existing R/C cars before you shop. We bought a 27 mhz model and 80% of our cars are 27's. I wish we'd realized that before we crashed up the paint job a bit. see less

My 4 year old son and 7 year old nephew both received these cars and went crazy over them. They loved the way it looks, how fast it drives, the spins, the sporty appearance and how it handles. It is an easy drive and doesn't take much to get this thing going. This was definitely the car to get. The only thing that is unfortunate is that it doesn't move well on carpet. It performs best on hard services which I guess is typical for remote controlled vehicles. see less

First of all, keep in mind this is being reviewed as a "toy" and not being held to Hobby Grade RC standards. This is a great little crawler! Amazing articulation, great clearance, amazing look, rubber tires that are however admittedly much too hard to grip well for crawling, and lots of fun! It would be nice if the turning had more torque. It uses a motor and spring return, not a servo, so no digital proportional steering however the throttle is. Overall, I say buy it! Lots of fun and you can't beat that Target price. Buy two and have some fun!! see less

This is for sure toy grade. But, that doesn't mean it is not fun. The e-motors could do with a little more power, because for a rock crawler it is a bit under powered, and the tire are definitely too heavy and rigid. It serves its purpose as a little put around vehicle though. The first thing that needs to be done after buying this car is taking a grinder and grind off some of the front end of the body, because it gets in the way of the suspension. But, Overall I like this little car, you get your monies worth out of it. see less

I paid around 40 for this RC for my nearly 4 year old son for Christmas. I over paid. In fact, anything more than free would have been considering paying too much. Yes, he is not old enough to work this rc...I get that....but doesn't change the fact that it is a POS. The remote is very cheaply made....one small drop and it will be in a million pieces. The biggest complaint I have is the "throttle trim". When you pop in the batteries for the first time, it will likely run without squeezing the trigger to make it go. The instructions tell you to turn the throttle trim adjustment until the jeep no longer moves on its on. The problem is the throttle trim is in a highly visible spot on the remote control and is easy to unintentionally turn...for an adult as well as a kid. I regret buying this one for my son....POS. see less

We own Spencer 3 speed R/C. I read all these negative reviews and remember that when my boy got it we also couldn't make it work; and then I realized that this vehicle takes batteries in REMOTE, in the ENGINE and also in the TRUCK area. After that it worked great. My boy loves it; because he can control speed. Four stars is because it doesn't have turn on/off switch on remote, but goes dormant when is put in stop mode, and eats batteries quickly. Otherwise it's my sons favorite FP Thomas R/C. He prefers it over old ones. I personally think that old ones batteries lasted looonger. I would recommend this toy. see less
