I own a lot of slow cookers. I have the old timey ones with just the off, low,medium and high. I have the digital ones. I even have one with a temperture probe through lid to read temperature of the meat. I have a crock pot for every purpose. I have to admit I am in love with this one. If you're ever cooked a roast or chicken or anything that could benefit from being browned or "seared" then you can't do that in a "regular" crockpot. You must brown on stove and then add to crockpot. I don't know about you but I don't want to mess up a lot of dishes that's one of the reasons I use a crockpot. You can turn this bad boy on and brown your meat and/or stir fry your onions and bell peppers and then turn the dial the other direction and and cook for however many hours you like. Now my chicken, pork chops, etc. all have a nicely brown sear on them and they cook up nicely. Yes it is a little pricier that most crockpot but it was worth it to me!! see less

I was sad to say goodbye to my "old school" crock pot when I broke it. It had cooked many delicious meals over a 15 year period. After much research on slow cookers, I decided on the Ninja Searious. It was the searing and the keep warm features on this cooker that helped make the decision for me. I used it the first time and my sadness turned to gladness! The ease of cleaning is remarkable. My husband tells me that I made the best spaghetti and the best roast in our 30 year marriage. Thanks, Searious Slow Cooker! I would recommend this product to everyone I know. I don't do much cooking. So I love the Ninja! It is so easy to clean, probably the best part. And things are easy to prepare. The stovetop setting seems to take a little while to heat up when I browned 2lbs of hamburger, so that much meat may be faster on a burner with a bigger surface. And I am not very good at searing meat without burning it after switching to oven and baking, but I have that problem with a regular oven too. The stove top setting does seem to work like a burner where the center is still the hottest part. There is an default timer that shuts it off if you don't set the timer, which came in handy for me. You don't have to use multiple pots or burners on the stove, and a smaller oven uses less energy. Spaghetti is a family favorite, because it's easy, and even more so now that we have a Ninja that cuts cooking and cleanup time! see less

Yes, it is a bit more expensive than a traditional crock pot, but this is no ordinary crock. The ninja does so much more. The overall build quality is very good. It feels well made and doesn't seem cheap. The non stick main pot is awesome! Very easy to clean. The cupcakes that come out of this thing are super moist and each one is evenly cooked. Spaghetti couldn't be any EASIER!! Even a non cooking guy like me can do it!! [...] see less
