I have been into Legos for years, and this set by far is the best, with the exception of the Republic Star Destroyer and the Death Star. Definitely worth the money. The set is really big for the price, and the ion cannons on the side have the best flick-missile system ever. I also love that it comes with Count Dooku and Padme, finally!! Trust me, you won't be disappointed!
I just completed the Death Star this afternoon while watching through all 6 Star Wars movies (I pace my building efforts) over the last week, and if I had to choose a word to describe the experience it would be along the lines of "masterpiece" or simply "epic".
The moment I laid eyes upon the box and picked it up off the shelf my jaw dropped. I built Tower Bridge a month or so prior which contains a lot more pieces but the Death Star box dwarfs it in comparison and weighs a good amount as well. This immediately removed any doubt in my mind that the price to piece count ratio might not be the best. There are quite a few larger plates in this set so don't be (quite) alarmed at it's expensive price tag.
Upon opening the box my jaw dropped again as the instruction booklet for the DS is massive. 260 pages and larger then a regular piece of paper, I've never seen anything quite like it. My only complaint and this seems to be something common with many sets is that the dark grey and black can sometimes be hard to differentiate between. As long as you pay close attention and have a lot of light in your building space you'll be fine.
The minifigures are starting to look somewhat dated in terms of printing when compared to some more recent sets but that makes sense with the age of the DS (5+ years). I am more then satisfied with the 20 minifigures present as it allows something to be happening in every room.
I didn't find the build repetitive at all as Lego has you build platforms and then fill each room on that level each of which has different features. I didn't find myself thinking "really another 10 of these etc." like I have with some other sets recently.
As a finished model it is a nice display piece but the true feature of the DS is its playability. I found myself wishing I could be a kid again so it would be appropriate to re-enact Luke screaming at C3PO to "shut down all trash compactors on the detention level" or make "whoooosh" noises as doors opened and closed. This set is the perfect "Lego dollhouse" as I heard someone put it before. There is a near endless amount of playability to be found and my many nephews aged 5-11 were in awe when they discovered I had bought this.
With the release of Ewok Village I don't know how much longer the Death Star can stick around, and if like me you know how much you'll regret missing it then pull the trigger now. Trust me you won't regret it.
I have wanted to own this set for a long time and I finally got around to buying it. This set did not disappoint. This set took a long time to build; four days to be exact. The thing is, I think I could have completed the set in half the time if it wasn't for the set's one fault: the bag numbers. What I mean by that is that the bags are numbered 1-7 but there are at least 35 bags. I don't know if Lego will get in trouble for having more than 7 bags or what but it makes it very frustrating to sort through 5 bags at a time. I should also mention that I was missing a few pieces but most were replaceable with some extra pieces and the rest were replaced with pick-a-brick for free thanks to my VIP points. I also wish there were more trooper figures and maybe some officers to put in the meeting room.
-Great Mini Figs
-A Great Challenge
-Movie Accurate Rooms
-Needs More Troopers
-Throne Room Should Go Where the Droid Room is
The Death Star is a huge set. It is quite heavy, but still sturdy. The minifigures are chosen well and done well also. The set is incredibly movie accurate and I think the designers did very well this time. The minifigures are one of my favorite things along with the ease of access to the entire model. If anything, it could have used more stormtroopers, but this is easily remedied by converting Han and Luke in the stormtrooper outfits into soldiers. The potential for reenacting the events of Episodes IV and VI is enormous. The elevator works well and the many functions hidden in the floors mark this as a true UCS set.
Darth Vader's mini TIE Advanced
Not enough Imperials
Overall this is an excellent set. The only other problem is that Darth Vader's TIE is too small. However, it fits inside the Death Star and that is why it is too small. I think it works and is pretty cool besides.
Hello everyone, and I must say, AWESOME SET!!! This is such an awesome police station, I love how it looks like a police station. The old one looks more like a Military base. Let's take a look at the pros and cons:
Two police cars
4 policemen minifigures
1 female policemen minifigure
2 prisoner minfigures
No stairs to get to the third level
A helicopter launch pad, but no chopper
An empty room (I made it my Autopsy room)
Bush tends to fall off easy
Though there are some things that I don't like, I am going to rate this a 10. Thank you for taking the time to read this review, and remember, choose wisely.
I got this set from my lego store and built it as soon as I got home, this is magnificent as Lego set and as something that looks cool.
PROS: I love how you can rearrange all the land and caves. The dirt house was awesome to have in there and the lava waterfall and everything. In my set when I finished I noticed two Peices that were AN EXTRA PRINTED HEAD! So I got one micro mob (creeper) and two Steve's, I had to use extra spare Peices to build my other Steve but enough of that, to the cons.
CONS: Something that bugged me was how all the 1x1 squares are always rigid kind of and never straight but that can be easily fixed.
MOBS: This set comes with one creeper and one Steve (two for me), I would have liked a cow or something but that didn't happen. Also the detail for the faces is nice and they're printed, I especially like the creeper one.
SET ITSELF: The whole thing is just awesome and for a price like $35.00 where I got it and probably one of the best cussoo sets that will ever come out until the DeLorean (which is in the mail right now) , you can also make a multi level world if your up to it. All around great set and cool if you like minecraft. It's a 4/4

This is a good set and ideal for a desktop or a bedside table ( I use the Architect Empire State Building beside my bed ) because it has small parts and is brittle.
Endless Things to do with this..
4 parts, mix it up!
U Get A Brick Separator! YAYAYAY!
Creeper, everyone loves creepers ( hug one )
If you play minecraft you will know : Steve = 2 meters Tall( 2 blocks), 1 block = 1 meter but,
In this LEGO Set
Steve is 6 tiles high,
1 block is 2 tiles, it should be 3.
Little tiles get lost!
After A While, you want : more mobs, more biomes, more EVEYTHING, swords picks. everything.
Overall I Rate This Set 8/10

This set may be small but you can have lots of adventures with this amazing lego cuusco/cuscoo?
Fun to build(Especially when you build more custom biomes)
Makes me want to play minecraft
So many small parts you can lose very fast
Its a bit tad small then expected
I got this set back in 2012, and it immediately caught my eye; all of the accessories and play features embedded into this model!
Nice figs, both pretty much the same and come with dirt bike helmets that can be interchanged with their normal hat. Nothing too special though.
I really like the design of this. The colour scheme has been chosen well, grey and red, and the stickers are worth the hassle. It really resembles a real 4X4 because of the chunky tyres, and the rugged styling of the vehicle including it's lights on top. There's also a trunk that opens up, and can just about squeeze the other minifig in there.
It hitches up to the car well, or you can have them separate. The storage units work well, although I find the oil can can't fit in, and has to be placed in the trunk of the car. You get the usual spanner, screwdriver etc which are nice. The dirt bikes themselves are very vibrant to the eye in those neon green and orange colours. They include number stickers, but you don't really need them. The minifigures can be put on the bikes easily. The other accessories on this trailer include two dirt bike helmets and some flags/checkpoints so you can 'race'.
Overall I would recommend this set to anyone really for the parts assortment or the playability, this set comes out trumps for me.
Thanks for reading!
