My son received this as a Christmas gift in 2011 when he was 21-months old. He has played with it daily since then! The set folds up quickly and easily to be put away and taken back out again daily. My son gets very excited when his grandparents buy him a new train to add to the set. I also like that the set is made so that you can add additional tracks if you want to.
My son loves the Trackmaster trains, as do I :)
The only issue was that the train in the picture is not the one they shipped me. It was James, but the white switch wasn't on the engine, it was on the tender. The thing I don't like about it being on the tender is that the battery is held in the tender and therefore if you have a really curvy track you're playing on, he drives off because the steering isn't on the front.
We got this set for Christmas and we LOVE it! It's a special toy we take to [...] to keep our toddler happy - best he's behaved in a loooong time! It folds/unfolds easily, fits two trains inside, small and easy for him to carry. We all really love this set!
I have bought today Take Along Tidmouth Tunnel and it is a complete disappointment as once the track of the tunnel is connected to other tracks and an engine gets onto the tunnel track there is no way out except to back th engine out of there. The engine will just drive in circles otherwise. my little boy was so sorry he couldnt get thomas and his other engines out. i am wondering if it is done that way because the designers have made a mistake or is it on purpose? I will definitely try to take i back (not sure if possible as i have not preserved the box).
