I have seen several tumblers similar to these on different food blogs etc. and could never find anything with the same unique faceted straight edges. I was so thrilled to see them here at Target in a polycarbonate in stead of glass so I wouldn't break them all. These are just beautiful and look like they're much much more expensive than they are. My husband and I absolutely love them. They do feel a little lighter than you expect at first, but they're still nice and sturdy and wash and wear extremely well. So happy with this purchase!
In spite of the very low rating given these cups, I decided that because I couldn't find colorless polycarbonate glasses anywhere else that I would give these a try. And boy am I glad I did!Something must have changed within the company that makes them between when the first reviewer bought them and when I did. I've had them about a month and have had no problems with cracking or leaking or any of what she said. Granted, I don't have a dish washer, but I do have a one year old who likes to throw things and drink out of "big girl cups" any chance she gets. I think these are fine glasses! The only downside I've found so far is that one or two of them had a jagged edge on the lip of the glass when they first arrived that needed to be filed down, but I understand that's common with polycarbonate. It has to do with how they're made in molds. But anyway, it wasn't even bad enough that it would hurt much if we didn't file it down; one would have to turn the glass while drinking out of it to scratch their lip with it, and even then it wouldn't hurt much. I think these glasses are great.
