Bought for "living room camping" while undergoing kitchen renovation. As with all coils, pot should fit burner to maximize heat, so at 6", small pots work best on this burner. That said, it works like a charm! For the money, I'm quite pleased.
I'm with the positive reviews on this one -- I don't understand the negative reviews--and because of them, I almost didn't purchase this great little stove -- I love it. We are remodeling our kitchen and needed a temporary stove--so I didn't have a choice. The left side heats up fast, boils quickly and cooks evenly. The right burner is marked on the stove as a warmer, and that's what it does. And the price is just right too. I completely recommend this item and intend to continue to use it for buffets, company, etc.
I'M SO GLAD I BOUGHT THIS! Before I even cooked anything I turned the burners on just to test how quickly it heated up and within 2 minutes it was hot! My last one took at least 10. I love the silver look to it and how easy it is to use. The dial is clearly marked low, med, and high and I can tell already this will stand the test of time.
[..............] It is amazing so far.

Don't listen to the naysayers. This is a fine product
The right side burner is labeled for simmering only. I'd bet my last dollar that the people that shot this thing down didn't read that or were trying to use it to boil a cauldron. It is what it is. 1550 watts at 120 volts is about 13 amps. If they made it with 2 full current burners it would trip a normal home circuit breaker. If you want the best product available then go and get the [$] dollar induction model. This thing is what it is...a [$] dollar electric double burner. Keep your expectations reasonable. Yeah the knobs are made of plastic, but so are football helmets. If you take care of it, it will last. I would buy it again and recommend it to a friend.
