This isn't the "nicest" G-Shock available. There are many, more expensive models that come with features like solar charging, radio time-setting, and so on. But honestly, all you really need in a digital watch is toughness, time-telling, and maybe a stopwatch feature. This watch delivers on all those features, and looks pretty cool. I was at a department store and tried to buy a {...] - they wanted over [$] for a watch with the same features as this one. Don't waste your money, this watch has the same basic features, cool look, and legendary toughness of the high-end [...] for a fair price. The watch is pretty big, but it's lightweight and comfortable to wear. I have very small wrists and the band fits me just fine. see less

The DW-9052 is my second ... see more

The DW-9052 is my second Casio G-Shock watch that I have owned. The other one is a DW-5600E that I also reviewed on the Target website. (Both G-Shock watches were received as a 2008 Christmas gifts.) Compared to the DW-5600E, the DW-9052 is not very comfortable. It is a much thicker and bulkier watch compared to what I am used to. But that massiveness is exactly what makes it such a nice looking watch to my eyes. If you strap this watch to your wrist you will always know that you're wearing it, unlike the DW-5600E that just disappears on your wrist. Note that the DW-9052 was designed to be worn over a wet suit while diving, so if you're going to be using it for its intended purpose, you won't notice it on your wrist nearly as much.The DW-9052 is like the DW-5600E in that it has black resin case construction with a flat stainless steel back plate that is secured with four screws and thus both watches weigh about the same. Because their weight is similar, the uncomfortable nature of the DW-9052 is caused purely by its much larger size. It may be hard to tell from just pictures on the Target website, but the DW-9052 is a very impressive looking watch because of its tank like appearance with a thick bezel and things (button guards, bezel, etcetera) just sticking out of it on all sides. Such a bulky watch only looks good on larger wrists in my opinion so if you have small wrists and forearms, I would definitely suggest trying on the watch first before buying it to see if it looks good to you. Also, while you're trying it on, be sure to press all of the buttons. While all of the rectangular buttons on the sides of the case are much larger than the typical round buttons on other digital G-Shock watches, they are surrounded by protectors that protrude out from the sides of the case much more than with other G-Shocks. Thus, pressing the side buttons of the DW-9052 may be difficult, depending on the size and shape of your fingers or if you're wearing gloves. I found that the larger buttons were much easier to press when I was wearing gloves compared to the buttons on the DW-5600E that were basically impossible to press with gloves on. While those large protectors may make pressing the buttons more difficult, they do a superb job of preventing accidental button pushing.The large, rectangular gray button at the bottom of the watch's face with the large red letter "G" on it is the light button. It is perfectly placed so that it can easily be pressed, even while wearing gloves. Like the four buttons on the sides of the case, it also is surrounded by a large protector so it only is pressed when the wearer wants it to be pressed. The large protector also makes it very easy to find the light button in complete darkness just by feel.Features-wise, the DW-9052 is the same as the DW-5600E. The only real differences are that when the DW-9052 is in stopwatch mode it has a horizontal bar graph that visually shows the elapsed milliseconds in ten millisecond increments a see less

My husband is a pretty snazzy dresser but he needed a watch for work (he often works outside). We saw this watch at Target and it has a very classic look. He LOVES it! He has even had multiple people ask him where he got it. He says it is scratch resistant and he has even gone in a pool and it still works great. Received my watch today and so far am delighted. The idea of not having to set the time is a little overwhelming to me but I do like the concept.This watch is just what it looks like online but a little thicker than I am used too. My main concern about purchasing another Casio watch is how long the band is going to last. Several years ago it seemed like my Casio watch band got brittle and broke. I loved this watch from the moment I put it on! The easy-to-buckle bracelet is fully adjustable- even to fit my smaller than average wrist exactly where it's most comfortable. No compromising a notch in either direction necessary, so the fit is perfect. That said, using the piece is the definition of simplicity. Each feature- time keeping, alarm, stopwatch etc. are straight forward, no-nonsense and become second nature to use very quickly. As for accuracy, I'm a stickler for having the exact time and it can be set precisley to the second. And hasn't lost a second yet.The resin case is tough but super-lightweight. Even comfortable enough to sleep with it on and use the alarm to wake up in the morning. The backlight is bright and useful for pre-dawn wake-ups and such. Quality and good looks! This watch goes everywhere with me and I've already recommended it to admiring friends who have gone ahead and purchased their own. I'm now a certified G-Shock fan and looking forward to building a collection based on this initial purchase. If you've had your eye on this classic piece don't hesitate- go for it! I have worn this watch for about 10 years. I keep getting a new one when they break. It is advertized for a man, but I am a woman and it is perfect fit! On a man it might be a bit too small--- so make sure to get the bigger faced watch. Over time the rubber band has broken on me, but just the tip so it has not stopped me from wearing it out. I have also had to put a small elastic to hold the strap when the little loop breaks, but this was after a long time of wear. This is great when you don't take your watch off (even in the shower or pool). It is also great for kids in sports or at the gym! see less

I have done 6 triathlons with this watch. I have replaced the twice and the battery once. When replacing the battery you have to make sure you set the seal correctly, otherwise it could leak. I really like the function for creating intervals. Cons - the band has been replaced twice. see less

I bought this watch for work. I'm a chef and i was looking for a watch to last me in a kitchen. I saw it for 20 bucks, so why not, lets see how long it'll last. VERY impressed, i love the analog timer and digital. I adjust my digital to my restaurant computer time and my analog to the "real" world time. This watch went through ALOT of dings and abuse, I notice this because past watch i've had usually dies, scratches up horribly, or crack and a watch failing in a kitchen is a huge handicap; btw the past watches i've bought elsewhere ran from $50+. So for 20 bucks and how much abuse this watch can take, i give it a 5 star. The time and alarm works great, no complaints. The only issue i've had with is that my battery died, but again it went through alot of abuse. Also the gun metal makes this watch look pretty dressy. So far this is my favorite watch for work and i will be returning to purchase more. see less

WARNING: I rated it 5 stars and I received the watch a few weeks ago. These cons are not a problem to me, I just want to quickly warn others so their time/money/energy will not be wasted. The bracelet is actually a bit darker than the picture. Unlike all the other anadigi watches I own (see my list of reviews), this one does not have a day of week display. The watch will only tell you if is PM, in AM the space would be left blank. The analog numerals and the tips of the hands (except for the second hand), and the digital section, all glow in the dark.Instructions: To set the analog, just obviously turn the crown, needless to say. For the digital, press the MODE three times, and this is the order you will set your initial settings:But to set them, START/STOP to set, and RESET to move to the next thing. 1. Reset the seconds, or skip it. 2. Hour 3. Minute 4. Month 5. Day of MonthThere would be a symbol like ((((0)))) if the hourly beep is on. To use the stopwatch, press START/STOP to run it or stop it, and RESET to reset. The tachymeter is for converting time intervals to speed or other rates of events. I dont know how to use it, though. I was about to take it off to play sports and as I reached for the clasp, some spring let loose --before I touched it-- and the band dislodged from the time-piece. I guess good quality and workmanship is a thing of the past. When my 25 yr old Timex finally bit the dust, I replaced it with this model. It looked exacly like my old one and had all the same features in addition to a luminating face dial to make it easy to read at night. I was sadly disappoited when after only less than a year it stopped running. I had the battery changed thinking that that wsa the problem but it only ran for a few more hours and then it died. in addition, the second hand began to move erratically. Foward for a few seconds and then backward before stopping and then starting again. I loved my first Timex and although I didn't expect the new one to last as long as the old one, I certainly didn't expect it to stop running so quickly. If I still had my sales receipt I would have gone back for either an exchane or refund. I guess I'll have to start researching what other brands are better before I buy a replacement. see less

If you look at the picture and read the details, you might believe this to be the Ironman 30-lap Flix watch, which sells for $49.99 elsewhere. I went to a Target store, since it indicated on this website that the watch was there. What I found was the Ironman 30-lap without the Flix feature. The difference is that you can shake your wrist to turn on the Indiglo back-light with Flix. Without Flix you have to use your other hand to press a button on the watch to turn on the backlight. There doesn't seem to be any way to verify which model you would get by ordering this, since the Timex model # isn't referenced anywhere. [...] HTH see less

This is a great watch, but the moon and tide is not needed in my area, other than that the only complaint I have is that it makes my wrist all sweaty. It is a great buy, recommended for anyone looking for a great sheap watch, or someone who lives near water, keeps time very well, and the battery stays charged very well also, i have not taken it outside in almost two weeks, and the battery sensor has said it still has a full charge.I haven't worn because I live in central Texas, where we have not gotten rain in like two or three months and it is hot, so it gets sweaty on my wrist. see less

I love the features on this watch, I can tell what tide is and moon phase at a glance. the watch charges up in no time just by wearing it in the light. The only problem I have found is I went swimming in my pool over the weekend and my watch filled up with water and quit working. I just bought this watch and love it! It looks great with the metal watch band which I easily sized to my wrist with a push pin. There are 3 alarms with 5 minute backup, chronograph (100 hour), 24 hr count down timer, indiglo light and holiday reminder. Plus you can hide any of these modes so that you can quickly access the modes you mostly use with ease (this is neat). The crystal is also recessed a bit to add some protection. Oh, the alarms are cool-I set up a weekday alarm and then a weekend alarm with 1 extra alarm and a third for when it's time to clock out at work. Each alarm has a different tone...alarm 2 and 3 will definitely wake you up in the morning!The model I got doesn't have the flix technology but it does have a night setting so that it stays illuminated for a while longer when you change modes. The night mode then automatically turns off in 8 hours if you don't do it manually.The only bad thing about this watch is the 3 time settings. I have one for Standard time, one for Daylight Savings, and one on UTC. I noticed that every time I enter a new time that the previous time setting goes down 1 minute. No biggie...just put the accurate time on T1 after you enter times for T2 and T3. see less

Just like the Timex back in the day, this watch takes a beating and keeps on clicking (not ticking). I've owned three over the last 10 or 12 years. Each version has had slight upgrades. My current version has the chronograph, timer, alarm and built in compass. Bulb for the back light has burned out on all three, but it held up for 3 or 4 years with a lot of testing from the kids. A deal for [the price]. Going to get another to replace the one I have now that's covered with paint. see less

I really liked the look of the watch and the leather-ish watch band. Stylish, yet casual. Got it at my local Target store.Why 2 stars? Because tho nice looking and meets my needs, a part of the band broke in less than 6 months. Watch was not used in a harsh environment. Just normal day-to-day indoor usage.The parts that broke are the two strips of leather (less than 1/8" wide) that sit crossways across the band, where you slip the excess band after you've clasped it. I just happen to see one day that one strip had already broken off and I didn't even know it. Worse, the 2nd strip was 3/4's of the way split, and about to break. Even tho an inexpensive watch it should have lasted longer that several months.I do NOT recommend this watch. Short band life. Tis' a shame. Nice looking. see less
