I bought this mower for my husbands birthday, and I am so happy with it, that I have been doing a lot of the mowing myself! Here's what I love about it...It's simple, I don't have to worry about trouble starting it, it doesn't require and $4.00/gallon gas, it's not that hard to push (I'm a pretty petite person, and I don't have really have trouble pushing it). Unless you have a very large, or very hilly yard, I don't think you'll find it much harder to push than a conventional mower, and it does the job! That being said, here are some things to consider: It does require a little effort - it's not self propelled! You won't get *perfect* results with it, so if you're really [.....] about your yard looking like a golf course, this may not be the mower for you, but generally it does a really god job. You do have to keep on top of it. If you let your grass get too long, it will still work, but you may have to make a couple of passes to get it all cut. You will eventually have to sharpen it, or pay to have it sharpened, but I'm told you only have to sharpen it about every 3-5 years, so that wasn't a real big negative for me. Overall, this mower is simple, effective, cost efficient, and environmentally friendly. It's quiet, low maintenance and will probably last a really long time. Also, check to see if your city has any kind of a rebate program for buying a reel mower. The town where I live was offering a $25 rebate to anyone buying this type of mower, plus another $25 rebate for recycling your old gas mower. It's worth checking out!
