I like this toy because it is truly a classic - metal box with traditional song and "Jack" inside. The song is a bit long for the attention span of the younger end of the age range (18 mo). Also, if you have a toddler that is aggressive, the metal could get bent up. My son has figured out how the latch works so he likes to pull it aside to make the jack jump out. The latch has held up for us over the past five months.

I returned this toy for so many reason... the major one .. no matter how much I tried , the latch would not stay closed after maybe..5 times of use. It's cheap for a reason!

I am using this with my 5 month old. It is a great toy for her to learn how to anticipate. She doesn't even flinch any more when Jack pops out because she knows when it is coming. She lights up whenever we bring it out to play with it. It's definitely something we are using every day.
