Great while it lasts

Used the coffeemaker less than once a day - worked absolutely great for 3 months, then just quit. Not what I would call a good investment.

My husband and I received this coffee pot as a wedding gift almost 3 years ago and have had no problems with it at all. We set the timer on it every evening before we go to bed and wake up to a fresh-brewed pot every morning. I haven't tried the sneak-a-cup feature because we always use the timer. Have had no problems with leaking or the warming plate not getting hot enough (we do have the lovely "ring around the warming plate" but as mentioned in another review, this can be avoided if you wipe down the caraffe). If this one goes out, I will happily replace it with another just like it.

We have had our SmartBrew Plus for almost 4 years. It just went out this morning and I will replace it with the same. Has worked perfect and a great value for the price. My men love the handle has it fits their hands better and I do also.

We loved the coffee maker for about 2 years and then like other people had said before - it started to leak from somewhere, the burner went out and then it just quit. We started to drink more and more coffee so I think we over used it. It was sturdy and did it's job well, until we really starting enjoying coffee. I think if you drink alot of coffee (two pots a day or more) this is not the coffee maker for you, I would go with something that can stand up to using it several times a day. If not I believe it is a great machine. Never had any problems with the timer, was easy to use and would keep a pot hot for about 2 hours.

I really liked the quality of coffee that came out of this coffee maker until the warming plate died suddenly after 5 months. The rest of the coffee maker died the next day. It did leak though onto the warming plate probably contributing to the sudden death. I've had much cheaper coffee makers last much longer.

This coffee pot is by far the best that I've found for the money. The pot is dripless. It has a nice large 12 cup capacity, and it brews it quite rapidly. Also it has a very nice weight to the glass pot. Very easy to handle and to pour. The coffee is great brewed by this coffee-maker. We are extremely happy with our purchase. Thanks.

There are some mechanical flaws that could very well be avoided with some common sense but aside from a little condensation drip, a discoloration in the warming plate, and more than likely the sneak-a-cup feature giving out(which is irrelevant if you utilize the timer setting for a fresh pot right when you awaken; it'll be completely done to avoid interrupting the brew cycle) after the first 10-20 pots, the design is great (as in the carafe's handle and wide spout design-the 'no-dripping' is fantastic) and the taste is wonderful (probably b/c of the way it's pressurized with steam and comes with a charcoal filter). As with anything glass, just do not ding it while cleaning and as long as you rinse it often or wipe the unit down, you'll not develop the ring-around stains the other reviews mention.
Great for the buck and 7 out of 8/9 features ain't bad!

I rec'd as gift and don't have any receipt so unable to return or else I would. I've only made 4 pots but each time, the filter overflows, have to readjust the carafe more than once while brewing so coffee flows into it. The "water spreader" gets full of grounds and when wiping down, grounds all fall into water reservoir. I'm asking for replacement from Black & Decker but doubt I'll get it. Live & learn!

We bought this coffee maker about two years ago. The carafe leaked when you poured, however a quick call to Black and decker customer service and they sent us a new one within a week! Then about 6 months ago the warming plate peeld. I was concerned about a fire, so my husband bought grill paint and repainted the plate. still works fine, just looks, well...painted! Also, the beeps seem to be getting louder. I've asked for another one for christmas. I just hope B&D have lessened the volume!
