It is exactly as described and the best part is it didn't require any assembly!! The price is competitive, as I looked around. I wish there would have been a taller bookcase available, but I bought 3 of these and they've worked out great. I recommend this product.

These were my first Dolce purchase (I also have the desk and nightstand - see other reviews) and at first I was put off by the size. I'd ordered two (I have -LOTS- of books) and once I'd propped them up (YAY! no assembly!) I fell in love with them. Very sturdy, the gorgeous reddish-brown of the whole Dolce collection, and a perfect size for my small apartment (with snazzy pictures hanging over them). If you're looking for a huge bookcase, look elsewhere. If you're looking for something to fit in a bedroom, this is a great pick. I love that they can collapse for easy travel when I move again, too. Excellent value for the price.

The bookshelf arrived damaged but still usable and not worth the return hassle. The damage is not visible from the front. It is functional and looks good but is probably little overpriced.

This shelf works great for storing DVDs - holds approximately 200+ DVDs. It's sturdy and very easy to assemble. I've been very happy this purchase and am considering buying a second shelf.

This book case is smaller than it looks, but if you get it on sale with free shipping, it's a good deal. If you are looking to store a lot of heavy books, keep looking. I use it to hold picture frames and knick-knacks. It's good for that. Mine came reeking of cigarette smoke too. If it didn't cost so much for a return and exchange, I would do it. Not sure if they all smell like smoke, or just mine.

I've been wanting this bookcase for awhile, then one day it was on sale for %30 off plus free shipping so I jumped at the chance. It looks great and is sturdy. This entire collection of Dolce dark walnut furniture goes on sale all the time at %30 off with free shipping. When it goes on sale again I am getting the desk, coffee table, end tables, and the hallway console table to complete my living room. The Dolce collection is really nice looking furniture at great prices! People will really think you bought this stuff from a furniture gallery.

Do be aware of the dimensions when ordering this. It is a rather small bookcase, not very tall, but it is great for small spaces or as I have used two in a little reading nook area in a large living room. They are sturdy, mine sit on hardwood floors, with no wobble, nice dark color and hold a ton of books. I couldn't believe how many books they held given the dimensions. Super easy fold out design and they look very nice grouped together.

I love this bookcase! The color is a deep dark brown and although it's listed as a folding bookcase it is a VERY sturdy piece of furniture. I've had mine for two weeks now and just ordered a second one.

I ordered two of these bookcases. They arrived very well packaged and in perfect condition. All I had to do was open the box and pull the bookcase out, unfold it and voila! The color is a dark walnut, which does have a hint of red, and may translate to some as a dark cherry but it is darker than that to my eye. My only gripe with the book shelf is that I wish it was taller. I will probably be buying one more in the very near future, as I have a ton of books. I think this is a great product for small apartment dwellers like myself that need a decent bookshelf that does not overpower the room, and is easy to move!

I bought two of these shelves about a year ago and just purchased two more! All four arrived well packaged and in pristine condition. They are lightweight but sturdy and elegant and make my apartment look much nicer.
