I just received my bookcase and already love it! I ordered it the Friday before Christmas and it arrived Christmas Eve. So pleased with this purchase. It arrived with no scratches or dents. The only minor flaw it has and the reason for the 4 star rating is because the wood on top is ever so slightly warped and doesn't match up with the sides but this is not noticeable once you have items placed on the shelves. Super easy to set up. Literally just pull it out of the box and flip the shelves down! I am already thinking about buying another one for the other side of the room. This is a great buy if you are on a budget. So nice to have furniture made of real wood and not that processed junk. BUY THIS BOOKCASE, you will LOVE it!!

This bookcase is the perfect size and very easy to assemble. Actually, there was NO assembly required, you take it out of the box and its done! The color is a dark walnut with a hint of cherry. It goes perfect with the Dolce desk and a was a great buy!

I LOVE this bookcase - I just ordered a second one. It's the perfect size and it holds even the BIGGEST books. It's very sturdy and there was virtually no assembly. I took it out the box and unfolded the shelves - and presto! It didn't even take two minutes.

Since it folds up it's easy to move - it's hard to find something easy to move AND sturdy and this has both qualities!

I've had this bookshelf for over 3 years now and couldn't be more pleased w/ it. The beautiful mahogony color looks great w/ my furniture. I moved twice since having it and it folds up great for that purpose. It sits in a main area that is walked past often (I also have three kids) and there's isn't a single scratch or chip on it. The price has gone up since I bought it, but I'm getting another one to go on the other side of my tv and even things out a bit. Love this bookshelf, you won't regret purchasing it.

I have to say I love these shelves. I ordered 2 of them and they were both very well packaged. They were also extremely easy to set up- they literally unfolded like they were supposed to. Also I have mine on carpet and they are very stable. I'm not saying they don't sway a bit, but all shelves do that no matter what the design is. I have two cats that like to jump up to the top shelf and these are quite sturdy enough for them to do that safely. The color is beautiful and a very even stain. The only complaint I have is that this bookshelf doesn't come in more colors. I have honey oak furniture in my living room and would love to have a couple in there.

I don't understand all the complaints about the quality of the shelves or the condition they arrived in. First the quality is excellent, but even the best quality control occasionally has glitches. Secondly Target has no control over the condition that the item arrives in. That should be taken up with UPS or who ever ships it.

In all this is a great shelf for the price, and I have already recommended it to several of my friends and family. I am also planning on purchasing another one in the next couple of months.

This would be a great bookcase if there weren't so many scratches or nicks on it. The virtually nonexistant packing material that was used in the box did not protect the bookcase at all, and most of the corners (on the frame and shelves) are banged up. Luckily, the biggest nicks are towards the back of the bookcase, so I decided to keep it. Plus, it's too much of a hassle to return. The bookcase is pretty sturdy, however, and I liked that it was ready to use right out of the box (after a little cleaning).

I absolutely adore this bookcase. I am in my young twenties and starting to decorate my own place and so I don't have a ton of money to buy more expensive pieces. This bookcase was just what I needed. No assembly! Just open the sides and the shelves fall into place. I had books on it within minutes of opening the box. The best part is that when I move again, all you do is fold it flat and it makes for easy moving.

I did not have any problems with damage during shipping, I found the piece to be wrapped in bubble wrap and styrofoam and arrived just fine.

There is a good chance I will be buying a second one so they can flank my tv stand.

These bookshelves are very nice. I only bought one, but I plan on buying two more. These look a lot nicer than they are. I don't know why other reviewers had issues with them, but I think they are super sturdy. I have mine on carpet, and it isn't wobbly at all. The shelves are also sturdy, and I have mine loaded with textbooks. I wouldn't hesitate to recommend this item! However, I recently ordered a second one, and it arrived damaged - one of the screws had totally come out and there was a crack in a different area, so I'll have to return it and order another one.

I had been looking for a bookcase that I wanted for quite awhile, I shopped around and read the reviews for this one. They were mostly good! What?? Seems like what you get with this one is a gamble! Some people say it was so easy since it came pre-assembled. Yeah, I guess if yours doesn't fall into a bunch of pieces when you remove it from the box! It took me at least an hour to get all those little dowels back into their holes at the same time so I could push it back together.
Sturdy? People say this is sturdy? I don't trust it to dust it!! It sways back and forth with any pressure put on it. And folding it back up to move it? Forget about it! Not if it's gonna fall apart again and I have to spend another hour putting it back together.
This shelf is definitely not worth the price I paid for it. Poor poor poor quality.

I bought this a couple years ago and it is truely amazing and well worth the money. Since there is no assembly and it just folds out it is great and so easy. I have books and a sterio on mine and its great...Its pretty compact and works great in small spaces.
