Great buy!

I purchased the desk and eventually the bookcase and file cabinet - they have been absolutely great. The wood and the finish is fantastic - great for teens and young children too. You don't have to worry about it getting stained or ruined. It looks better than it does in the picture too. Sleek lines and solid. I bought the desk and had to go back and buy all the accessories and they had all sold out. Really good buy.

I first bought the computer desk and hutch. It was so easy to put together that I went back and bought 2 of the 4 shelf bookcases and the folding bookcase. I am a 52 year old woman and if I can put this furniture together, anyone can. I also love the fact that it is all wood, not pressed would like most furniture these days. I also love the natural wood. I wish they would make a T.V. entertainment center to match it. (I can't find one with a natural finish like the mission furniture) I would recommend this furniture to everyone.

This desk is working out great for me. I actually went to other retailers to look for desks, most of which were more expensive than this one, but I couldn't find anything I liked better.
The construction is quite sturdy. Nothing on this desk feels flimsy or wobbly. The only weak point I noticed was that the drawer bottom is a very thin sheet, but a drawer of that size would never need to bear a significant load anyway.
The keyboard tray is actually wide enough (~ 29 inches) to accomodate both a keyboard and a mouse comfortably, if you want to rest your mouse on the tray instead of the desk.
Assembly took some time (~ 1 hour), but was straightforward. Once or twice, the directions were less than explicit about the orientation of certain pieces, but a good look at the diagrams and a little common sense is all you need.
I have an LCD monitor and my computer case is next to the desk instead of under it, which is a comforable setup. I can't say for sure whether other setups (case under desk, CRT monitor) would work out as comfortably, but I suspect they would.
This desk is definitely worth the price if it's on sale, and probably even if it's not (I apparently bought mine in between sales, oops). :-)

I finally broke down and bought this desk, after eyeing it for months. It went together in about 30 minutes, and I love the clean lines and light wood. The only problem I've had is that the plugs that fit over the recessed bolts keep falling out.
Wait for it to go on sale! I got mine for $60 instead of $100, so I was also able to afford the hutch.

A great desk..to go with the DVD tower

I got this desk a few months after buying the CD/DVD tower from the same collection. The single drawer limits the amount of stuff I can keep around, GOOD! The tray works and slides better than I thought it would, I keep my laptop stored there. It is pretty easy to take apart and put back together if you move from place to place. Sometimes I wish it had more depth to it.

This desk is great. I assembled it myself in about an hour and a half, but it was worth my time. It has a cute little side drawer and a keyboard pull-out. The hutch looks great with it, and has lots of shelves for all kinds of needs. The assembly instructions were easy to follow and make sure you have someone help you or else your scratch it up, sort of like I did, but no one can tell. This desk is by far a top buy of mine. Its great for my computer and a place to do my homework. Now go buy one, before they run out!

We have bought 5 mission furniture pieces including 2 computer desks and have found them to be free of defects and a joy to assemble with no problems.
So far (2yrs on our oldest piece) they are very durable and have maintained their looks.
We are very pleased with the value and price and will purchase additional mission furniture.

Really happy with desk -but no drawer yet

The desk is beautiful. I chose it for the solid wood (rather than laminate) and the wide keyboard tray (also holds the mouse). My mom and I had fun putting the desk together in a couple of hours. We couldn't finish the drawer because on one side panel the metal guide sticks out too far so the drawer won't fit together. I'm waiting for a replacement part, but I'm enjoying the desk with no drawer. We later almost finished putting the hutch (sold separately) together in a couple of hours, but it was missing about 15 pre-drilled starter holes, so we came back to it with a drill. The drilling was easy once we 'marked' the spots with a screwdriver.

Mission Collection Computer Desk and Hutch

For what you are paying this is a great desk and hutch (only $99.00 for the desk). Very sturdy, solid wood. I put both pieces together, by myself (non-powered screwdriver) in about 1 hour. I was amazed that all the pieces fit together without any problems lining up the pegs and camlocks. Everything went together easily using a bit of common-sense (look at the pictures-not the written directions and line up all the holes before trying to screw it together.)
It's desk surface is a bit on the small size (have a 19 inch monitor on it), but in an apartment dorm or bedroom, it's small size turns into a plus. I'm actually planning to buy another desk (same brand and type) to use with the one I already have. I'll put it at a right angle to this one and use it as a writing desk. when I move into a bigger place.

This desk LOOKS great and is very well built, especially for the price. Putting it together is not hard at all. If you can put screws in holes, you're gifted enough to set it up. You will need your own Phillips head screwdriver. It's very sturdy and looks like a million bucks.
