I have had this furniture for over five years now. It was easy to put together, and has held up wonderfully. I own the desk, the hutch, the side desk, two of the larger folding bookcases, and the small 4 shelf bookcase (slightly different that the new model). It is solid hardwood and has held up wonderfully, even the desk which gets constant use. The side desk holds a very large, heavy Dell laser printer. I am very impressed with just how well this furniture has held up. It looks every bit as good today as it did when I bought it.

Great little solid wood desk for the money. My biggest complaint is that the hardware it came with is very low quality. I broke two fasteners by hand without much effort.

I have had this desk for a few years. It was great until about a year ago. The drawer does not open correctly anymore. That is due to the piece of wood underneath the desk coming loose. There is no way to tighten it unless I glue it. This causes the part that holds the keyboard to fall off all of the time as well. Basically, the whole underside of the desk has become useless. I would keep that in mind before purchasing.

This desk got to me in about 3 days (would have been 1, but i ordered it on a weekend!) Anyway, when it came the box was pretty beat up, but after looking all the part over, there are only some minor things. Theres a small chip in one of the side panels and on the top edge of the desk...not really anything to complain about though. Nice and sturdy!

We bought two of these for our playroom to tween room makeover. They were easy to assemble, nice to look at and incredibly sturdy - no wobbles whatsoever! The three kids think they're great too! We've ordered the matching hutch to complete the picture and can hardly wait to receive it!

It says this is not available in stores, but I got mine in a store this week (july '07), although it has a darker finish on it. Assembly was deceptively simple, and it doesn't look like something you put together yourself. (Hint from years of dealing with [another retailer's] furniture: tighten all the screws GOOD and tight the first time and you'll have less trouble overall.) The natural wood is pretty light compared with composite-board, which was a big draw for me because Im in grad school and moving a lot. I give it a 4 because there was a strip-chunk knocked out of one of the legs, but it is on the inside and un-noticable when the desk was put together so i decided to just live with it.

I have had this desk for nearly 6 years and it is still in great condition. I was actually browsing online to see if this desk had a hutch that matched and thought I would write a review for those interested in purchasing. I bought this desk in college when I didn't have much space. It has lasted three or four moves (I can't remember) and for the price, I can't imagine anything better. Most desks in this price range are partical board. Stick with the real wood and it will last a long time. It is pretty small, so if you needs lots of room and plan to have a computer on it this is not the desk for you. Otherwise, buy with confidence.

It only took me 45 minutes to put this together (by myself), and it looks great. If you're looking for just a basic computer desk, this is the one for you. The price is great, too.

Could have been nice, but had a fatal flaw.

When I opened the box, the top of this desk was so badly warped I just brought it back to my local Target and got a refund. (They were fine about that).
Any woodworker knows that if you varnish 1 side of a board, you need to do the other side as well to prevent warping. This is apparently especially true of Vietnamese Rubberwood glued up from small blocks - someone needs to get on top of this ridiculous quality problem. I would never waste my time with buying another of these products if it had a large, 1-piece surface. Get with it, guys!!
