We bought this tent as a replacement for one that got wrecked in a storm. This tent has withstood everything thrown at at. All-night Texas Thunderstorms, Death Valley Windstorms, Minnesota bugs, with no leaks or tears. The zippers do stick a little as noted by others, but once you accept how to accommodate, it's not a hassle. Good for short trips or those requiring short hikes or paddles, the durability has encouraged us to buy a larger Eddie Bauer for a more luxurious car camping tent.

I recently purchased this tent and took my 6 year old son on his first camping trip. We set it up on a windy night and it was not a problem(we did a trial run in the living room a few days before). At 3AM the wind picked up and it started to pour. The wind was blowing at about 30 knots. At times the tent would flex and be pushed down on top of us, but it would always return to it's proper shape. The storm lasted until 7:30 AM and only a small amount of water leaked in through the zipper pull until I adjustet it. I was surprised that the tent worked as well as it did. I had not yet sealed the seams and with the horizontal rain we didn't get a drop. My sons first camping trip could have been a disaster but this tent went above and beyond...

I'm not fond of camping very much but I love this tent. We received it as a wedding gift and have used it several times. Assembly is easy - the hubby loves throwing things together without using the instructions and with this tent that is quite do-able. Its also VERY easy to take down, fold up, and put away. Other reviews complain about the zippers which I can understand but if you make sure you zip and unzip slowly without snagging everything is fine. Its also very roomy, we have a queen size air mattress and still have room on the floor for our bags!

This tent was given to us as a wedding present. We took it camping and set it up for the first time in the woods (that was our first mistake). First off the tent fly was sewn wrong and it did not have a hole for the brace to go above the front door. We even had my Dad come and take a look at it since we thought maybe we had set it up wrong (we didn't). As soon as we were done camping, we took it straight back to Target (which they almost didn't let us return it because we had "used it") and got a 3-or-4 person tent from Coleman instead and are much happier with it.

We bought this tent a few years ago but have only started using it. Plenty of room for 2 people + gear. We even put a queen size air mattress in it and had enough room. Last time we used it, it rained for 36 hours straight and we hadn't sealed the seams or tethered the rain fly out...so it leaked a little. Really not that bad and I would have expected a lot worse in those conditions.
Overall, we have been VERY pleased with this tent would recommend it to anyone, especially novice campers like us!

This Tent Stinks

This tent is not worth the money. I bought this tent for my camping trip and it was very small (barely fit three girls under 12). Stakes were horrible as they bent with my foot pressing them into mud!!! Zippers snagged a lot. The roof of the tent reached my chest and I am 5' 10". After my trip, I rolled it up and threw it in the garbage. [...] This tent doesn't deserve a star.

I used this for over 2 months of camping in the past 3 years I have owned it. Minnesota tested and used for sea kayaking. This would not fit 4 adults unless they really like each other. The tent takes about 10 minutes to set up and get going, but once you have done it a few times you should be able to do it in less. There are 3 poles one is slightly shorter than the other 2 and you will have to mark it to find it fast. I have been in down pours and strong winds and this one held its own. It is good for the value and wont disappoint you. I would hope they have fixed the zipper issues by now.
Pro: Great ventilation without rain cover. You can unzip the window inside for cross ventilation at night. Has 3 exits to run out if the bugs come. Stood up to mama raccoon and her kids attack with no problem. She clawed really hard to get to a trail bar left in a pocket (hang your food!). Lots of tie downs, guy ropes, and stakes. You can get dressed inside, sitting of course. Good floor, never used a foot print and seems to stand up to anything with in reason. Never had a leak in this thing, except for the front door seems, but only slight dripping with heavy rain.
Cons: Rain flaps get stuck in zipper causing tears in fabric. Had to patch a few times, zippers will jam needing some patience to fix in the dark and have to use the bathroom. Very heavy for backpacker use. Lots of tie downs, guy ropes, and stakes. You can still here your noisy neighbors at 2 am smashing cans and playing loud music. Hard to climb out of after the first day or two of a long kayak trip. Stakes are not great and bend with ease. Rainfly does not cover the tent on some sides, but the is a minor for most people who camp.

This tent has sheltered us from The Rockies to The Great Lakes for almost 3 years. Through wind, rain and cold, it has kept us dry. The ventilation is good with all of the windows as well during warmer spells. It's not very spacious, but it works perfectly for my husband and me, our bags and our air mattress.

I have used this tent 5 or 6 times. Zippers always get stuck and the fly construction is terrible. If you plan to camp only durning spring or summer in perfect conditions, then for the price it is just okay. Shop around!

My husband bought this tent for our first camping trip. While he started the fire, I set up the tent. It was soo easy. It is large enough for three adults, but two adults and a kiddo allows for breathing room. It was well worth our money and I am looking forward to future trips.
