tough little tent April 2, 2004 Reviewer:  Jason (Texas)  See all my reviews >

The 1st weekend I tried out my new tent was about 2 years ago. It was raining hard the first night and water leaked though some of the seams and the bottom of the main door. OK, maybe I should have put the seam sealer and rain seal on it first. I recommend putting it on every camping trip just to be on the safe side. Last year was the worst storm I have ever camped through! It was the weekend before July 4th at Lake Greenbelt, TX and we even had reports of several spouts (water tornado) popping up on the lake. My tent took a beating of its life! Although the 80 mph winds were slapping the roof of my tent in my face, I stayed dry! That night I duct taped my rain flaps on the main door. The storm didn't rip, tear, or pull my rain tarp off the tent. For toughness.... Eddie Bauer lives up to their name. But as any tent you will buy, there will be a leaking problem unless you take extreme measures to prevent leakage. Hint: don't buy a cabin tent...EVER! The storm mentioned ripped apart my mother-in-law's tent into shreds. Which I thought was pretty funny. In the wilderness or at the lake...I will rely on Eddie Bauer for shelter.

POOR ZIPPER DESIGN September 9, 2003 Reviewer:  Frank Cooper (Bakersfield, CA.)  See all my reviews >

The first time I used the tent I was very happy with it. I have used this tent a total of three times. The zipper broke. I tried to fix it but it just got worse, then the zipper pull broke.

Do not buy this tent September 3, 2003 Reviewer:  Christine S. Hoffman Real Name (Akron, OH USA)  See all my reviews >

My husband and I received this tent as a gift for our wedding and promptly took it on our honeymoon. We might as well have been sleeping under the stars because this tent leaved horribly, and there was a 2 inch puddle of water under the air mattress when we finally abandoned ship.

This is a waste of money. Don't buy it.

FANTASTIC TENT FOR FAMILIES July 31, 2003 Reviewer:  Rich - Northern New Jersey (NORTHERN NEW JERSEY, USA)  See all my reviews >

I'M A REGULAR CAMPER (30 YEARS AND MORE) AND WE BOUGHT THIS TENT LAST YEAR FOR THE FAMILY. IT WORKS GREAT...WE HAVE 4 KIDS AND ITS BIG ENOUGH FOR ALL OF US WITH SOME ROOM TO SPARE. WE PUT AIR MATTRESSES IN EACH OF THE SIDE ROOMS AND THE KIDS DOUBLE UP 2 TO A SIDE. WE PUT A SLEEPING BAG INSIDE - UP ON THE FLOOR IN THE MIDDLE ROOM LIKE A CARPET (IN CASE SOMEONE CRAWLS OUT OF THE SLEEPING BAG DURING THE NIGHT). YES, IF IT RAINS YOU GET SOME WATER, BUT ONLY WHERE SOMETHING TOUCHES THE SIDES - THAT'S TYPICAL ON ANY TENT. OUR ONLY COMPLAINT WOULD BE THE ZIPPERS..THEY RUN TOP TO BOTTOM,THEY SHOULD GO BOTTOM TO TOP . THE SET UP IS NOT THAT COMPLICATED - IT DOES GET EASIER WHEN YOU'VE DONE IT A FEW TIMES.SO IS THE PACKING UP. WE CAMP SPRING, SUMMER AND FALL - WE'RE ON OUR SECOND SEASON WITH IT AND SO FAR VERY HAPPY. ITS A GREAT TENT. A LITTLE PRICY - BUT WORTH IT.

GREAT TENT July 11, 2003 Reviewer:  TOM (WARREN, MICHIGAN USA)  See all my reviews >

THIS IS THE FIRST TENT I HAVE EVER PURCHASED AND IT HAS YET TO LET ME DOWN. I HAVE CAMPED IN ABOUT EVERY TYPE OF WEATHER AND IT HAS DONE NOTHING BUT IMPRESS ME. THE MESH TOP REALLY HELPS KEEP COOL IN THE SUMMER AND THE RAIN FLY KEEPS YOU VERY DRY. I AM VERY SUPERISED AT EVERYONE THAT HAS HAD TROUBLES WITH THIS TENT LEAKING. IT'S CONSTRUCTION IS VERY STURDY AND ONE PERSON CAN SET IT UP EASILY. WITH BIG WINDOWS, TWO DOORS AND A SUN/MOON ROOF, AND THE PRICE IT'S HARD TO BEAT!!

Sand Fleas Welcome. June 21, 2003 Reviewer:  reid (Orlando, FL, USA)  See all my reviews >

Aren't tents meant to keep out two things: rain and bugs? This tent was manufactured with a major design flaw. The screens that act as windows are not a fine mesh, but a coarse one. Beach camping (especially in Florida) necessitates sand Flea protection. This tent allowed the fleas to walk right in and eat us alive. Surprisingly, my friends who bought a $30 tent seemed to fare a great deal better.

Rain May 27, 2003 Reviewer:  Steve (Western New York)  See all my reviews >

I purchased this tent just before Memorial Day and set it up like everyone posting her did, plus the directions said it would be a good idea. I took me a bit to set it up in the practice run but the second time I did it it was quicker. The only trouble I had the one night I used it was that it rained all night. I was even under a shelter from a camper. There was water in the tent when I went to get out of it. The water was near the main door and there was not a lot of it but any amount is annoying. I think when I opened the door to take a look outside that is when the water got in. In my opinion I think making the screens on the outside was not a good move at all. If they were on the inside everything would have stayed dry. As I type this the tent, rainfly and the tarp I had under it all is in garbage bags in the back of my car waiting for a sunny day to get dried out.

Outer Banks Fishing Trip November 26, 2002 Reviewer:  Grey B Mull (Charlotte, NC USA)  See all my reviews >

Used this tent last week for three days at Cape Lookout on the NC Outer Banks while doing some fishing. I setup the tent at home first and was able to do it in 15 mins by myself without problems. Setting up with two friends in the pouring rain took about 20 minutes. The tent performed flawlessly, much better than I expected. Kept us dry through one very stormy night. Quality is good, much better than I expected for the price - the rainfly works well and the tough duffel bag is a huge bonus. I would recommend this tent wholeheartedly with no reservations.

Great!! October 13, 2002 Reviewer:  Mike Sautter (Birmingham Al)  See all my reviews >

We started late and ended up setting the tent in the dark. The instructions were alright but not self explanitory. 20 minutes after we set up camp it thunderstormed!!! It was pretty bad, but we stayed dry even after a big tree limb feel on our tent. With this tent I look forward to rainy nights. Very spacious for two people.
