Great Potty Seat

This potty seat is great. The seat can be used on the "big potty," and it becomes a step stool just by closing the lid. We purchased two different seats, and this is the only one our daughter will use.

We decided on the Graco Soft Seat Trainer Potty Chair after alot of online searching and opening boxes are stores. Had good reviews and had the largest opening, slightly bigger than BabyBjorn's standard potty chair, definitely bigger than the Boon Potty Bench. Its lid flips down to be a step stool and has a large rubber shield that flips down to close the lid. A plus was that the shield stays on the seat, whereas on the Boon, it comes out with the basin to be emptied. It did slide under the Boon's frame on the way out, but to put it back in you'd have to touch it. At least it'd be clean then, right?
Another plus with the Graco is that the seat can be used separately on the toilet itself. And the base is wider at the bottom than the Safety 1st potty chairs, therefore it is stable and my son can't tip it over.
Only drawback is that the step stool is weight rated for kids (40lbs), not 300lbs like the Boon. But I'll take that over cleaning up my son's messes. My son is very big for his age (95% weight and 85% for height) and he fits on this potty chair.

I bought this potty chair after reading various reviews. I have to say I am pleased with it. My two year old girl loves sitting on it and it does not leak (A concern with some other potty chairs I looked at). It's easy to keep clean. I have one upstair and one downstairs and they both are holding up pretty well.

My son who will be 3 in Aug was acting interested but would only sit on the toilet and act like he was going but never did. Our son hated the potty chair my husband bought for him at another store for ten dollars, he would play with it and stand on it, but didn't like to sit on it because it was to small and uncomfortable. When we moved 1,000 miles away and I had some time to train him, I did alot of research on potty chairs and found the soft seat graco. It is amazing. The cup for the little boys is great and is big enough; it's made of soft rubber and flips down inside the bowl so he can shut the lid. The seat is just like the grown-ups use. I just got it yesterday and he's been using the "potty chair" ever since. He can also sit back far enough so as not to spray all over. I'd recommend this to anyone who is looking for a great potty chair. It's made my life alot easier to train a boy.

I bought this potty chair recently to start getting our daughter used to the idea of a potty chair. She loves it. We are just starting the concept of sitting on the potty. She enjoys sitting on it and playing (for now). Only time will tell if it is a good chair, but so far the critic loves to sit on it as a pretend potty. It appears sturdy and easy to clean. I like the idea of being able to use the small cushioned seat on the larger toilet in the future. Our daughter is tall for her age and is able to get on and off without any problems.

This seat was absolutely perfect for potty training my Daughter. She's almost completely potty trained at 18mos. This chair had helped tremendously because it has a removeable top that can be used on the regular potty as a potty seat. It has given her the choice (control) on where she wants to sit. Some days it's the potty chair on the floor other times she puts the top on the big potty and sits there using the chair as a step stool. This had definitely made training easier.
When training is a struggle it's often because the child wants control. This definately gives them a bit of control.
The potty has a nice large opening which is definitely larger then the other options out there. Thus reducing mishaps. The bowl is easy to empty and clean due to it's easy hold handle, pour spouts on each side make emptying spill free. It cleans up nicely with water and soap. We don't use the shield on our seat though it definitely is larger then those on other seats. The seat also transports well for on the go use. The wide base is also very stable. It even fits decently in our small bathroom.

Good seat with only two cons

My favorite thing (and my son's) about this potty is the removable seat that fits on the real toilet. The handles on that are great, too. My son was not at all interested in sitting on a little potty (not an issue with the chair; I think he just wanted to 'go' on the big potty instead). The seat is easy to clean and lightweight. And now the cons: the deflector comes off waaaaaay too easily and I have found myself cleaning many a mess because my son discovered that fact (and so did my younger daughter, who likes to go in the bathroom with us and is curious about this whole potty thing-you can imagine a two-toddler pee mess). However, the deflector is a good size and my big-for-his-age son sits and fits comfortably. The second con is that the handle on the back of the seat is just not good. If you try to pick up the whole rig with one hand you'll end up with parts all over the floor. These couple of negatives, though, have not outweighed the positives, and we continue to use this seat.

This seat is wonderful - simple is all I wanted at my house and this cleans like a breeze. We didn't want any bells or whistles distracting our guy while he's trying to learn to use the potty and this one was perfect.

This potty chair has a nice soft seat, and my daughter sat on it as soon as I brought it home. I like that it looks realistic and has a lid. However, it is much bigger than I expected. We have a small bathroom , and this potty chair seems to take up a lot of room. I wish I had researched the dimensions and thought about how crowded it would make our limited space. Overall happy so far though.

this potty lasted over a year...i never used the deflector, it just got in the way...easy to clean except if you leave toilet paper in it too long it sicks to the bottom so bad that you need a jackhammer to get if off...finally, the soft seat cushion has a big crack in it now so it's bye bye potty, unless i can get a replacement seat. i hope so cuz i like that this potty was affordable, and i love that it has a lid, a definate bonus. and i never used this as a stepstool, because it's not high enough to even get close to the sink, and also, because this potty is not kept in the bathroom so i wasn't about to carry it back and forth just to use as a stepstool, which, like i said, wasn't high enough anyway. but overall, it did it's job. and my daughter loves it.
