I bought this for my daughters after my divorce. This was the 1st thing I put together by myself. I found it very easy to do, just time consuming....especially with the kids running around. I would recommend using a power tool to help with the screws, it will save your hands! I have not had any problems with it tipping over & I have a 3 year old using it. I bought it 1 1/2 years ago & it still looks great. I have recently just added the dresser to the girls collection...they love it.

We bought this dresser for our toddler's room. Great price, fairly easy to assemble, looks good. Our only issue is how easily it tips over. Make sure you anchor the dresser if you have small children. We placed the heaviest items in the bottom drawer and only light items (clothing) in the other drawers. If you open the bottom two or three drawers and lightly tap the back of the dresser it falls over! It will do this with only one drawer open. Since the drawers open rather easily and begin to roll forward once the item tips slightly, the dresser tips much quicker and easier than you would think. Toddlers love to climb, so anchor it.

I was looking at the same exact chest in a name brand furniture store and their price was $300.00 dollars. So when I saw this dresser at Target it was an easy decision to make. The price was too good to pass up. Everyone who sees it just loves it and wants to know where I purchased it. Once I tell them Target they are shocked. It looks more expense than it actually is. And much more satisfying knowing I put it together with my own hands. I was a little leary about the assemble aspect since I had never assembled anything like this before, but I had no problems. The directions were extremely easy to understand. It only took me about 2 hours to put it all together. So it wasn't bad at all. So much easier than I thought it would be. Upon standing up it was still a little wobblely, so I just tightened the screws a bit more. That is my advice to anyone who buys this beautiful 5 Drawer Chest, make sure you tighten all the screws before applying the back w/ nails. It makes it so much more sturdy. Don't let the assembly stop you from buying this beautiful 5 Drawer Chest, it easier than you think. I have had no problems w/ the smell of any of these pieces, like in the other review. I have owned the 5 Drawer Chest and Armoire since November 2002. I plan on buying the Dresser with Doors and the Vertical Mirror for our guest bedroom. That is how much I love all the Country Lane pieces. But I will only buy them at Target, it is so much cheaper!

Everytime I walk into the spare room where this piece is, it makes me smile. Sure it took a little time to put it together but absolutely worth it. Drawers slide with ease, the design is great and it is sturdy. Buy it, you wont regret it. On a side note, it's been about 2 months since I put it together and it still has a new wood scent to it!
