I bought this for my two-year old, thinking it would get him through for a couple of years. Mistake. I've never heard of a dresser that simply doesn't work. You can't use the top two drawers because when you pull the drawers open, the front face of the drawers becomes dislodged and sort of dangles, hanging on for dear life by the cheap screws that you can see...and clearly don't work. Oh, and the bottom of the drawers comes out. Yeah, the BOTTOM...that I think is made of posterboard. When the cheap, pathetic drawer fronts aren't driving you nuts, the door is warped and will barely close...unless you figure out some kind of weird voodoo trick to get it to stick... I'm afraid of the bottom drawer...It may implode. So I just leave it alone, hollow and empty. This is the most miserable purchase I've ever made... I'm going to attempt to get my money back from Target...however, I know I could probably just as easily smuggle a whaling ship through JFK airport, than get a refund. I've had this monstrosity for 4 months. Disgraceful. A pox on society and my home. In the winter, we'll tear it down (actually, we wont need to, will we? as it's already collapsing and will probably be in toothpicks by January) and burn it for heat. If you see this ARMOIRE in the store and are tempted...turn and run. A cardboard box will suit you much better.

The armoire and nightstand are both lousy - unsturdy furniture, looks cheap. VERY DIFFICULT to assemble, definitely worth investing in furniture that is already assembled...not worth the money saved.

What I love about this armoire is that it's fairly compact. I've been searching all over for one but since my room is small I could never buy one b/c armoires tend to be bulky. My only complaint is that it doesnt seem like the sturdiest piece of furniture out there. It's well worth the money; I'm just afraid it's going to tip over. The drawer space is smaller then it appears, but it's still decent. I was afraid of the thick instruction manual, so I hired someone to come and put it together for an additional $80. I dont regret getting it; it's just beautiful.

Great for a baby's room

We bought this for our daughter's room. It looks fantastic in her room with all of the pastel colors. The wall anchor was a plus, as we've had to purchase them seperately for other pieces of furniture from the hardware store and that's a pain in the butt (our daughter is in the climbing everything phase :)). Make sure you invest in a power screwdriver or drill if you don't have one already, there are tons of screws to put in. But overall, it's a great piece of furniture, especially if it's going to hold very light stuff like baby clothes and blankets.

Half Full or Half Empty

After seeing the thickness of the instruction book, I insisted to my daughter that I did NOT want to know how many steps were required to put this item together. One step at a time and a couple of hours later, all the pieces and parts looked just like the picture on the box - very nice indeed. One detail was lacking, where is the drawer space?
From the face of the armoire, the drawers look deep enough to hold a good amount of clothing. However, the drawers are actually only half the depth of the drawer face. This results in the piece giving you only half the storage.
Given that, the half full or half empty armoire does look nice, fits in well with the other furnishings in the room and feels quite sturdy.
Are we happy with the purchase? Sure. But a full drawer would make me that much happier.

The look of $500 but only a fraction of the price

I was looking at the exact same Armoire in a name brand furniture store and their price was $500.00 dollars. So when I saw this Armoire at Target it was an easy decision to make. The price was too good to pass up. Everyone who sees it just loves it and wants to know where I purchased it. Once I tell them Target they are shocked. It looks more expense than it actually is. I was a little leary about the assemble aspect since I had never assembled anything like this before, but I had no problems. The directions were very easy to understand. It only took me about 3 hours to put it all together. So it wasn't too bad. So much easier than I thought it would be. Upon standing up it was still a little wobblely, so I just tightened the screws a bit more. That is my advice to anyone who buys this beautiful armoire, make sure you tighten all the screws. It makes it so much more sturdy. Don't let the assembly stop you from buying this beautiful armoire, it is easier than you think.

We bought this armoire for my daughter and the pine colored one for our son, they were easy to put together and look fantastic.
The only problem we found is they tip very very easily! Use the built in wall strap, my sons tipped over ON him twice. The small legs on these make them pretty top heavy..don't fool around use the wall strap!

How many broken parts can you get?

It took 4 different packages of this armoire to get all unbroken parts. Plus the fact that 2 weeks after I ordered it and paid $50 shipping, it showed up on the shelves. But a lasting problem are the legs. This armoire is made up of chipboard with vinyl covering. The design on the legs makes it so that there is NO support for them at all and that was the most frequently broken parts (in the package, mind you) that we had a hard time finding. That was without any weight or and scooting around like normal. At the very very back - last page - of the extensive assembly book (took 3 hours of intense work by my handy husband) it warns you not to move it unless you pick it up first. We ended up adding real wood supports to the legs in order for them not to break the first time someone pushes it. The back legs in particular are a must for adding real wood support. IF you can find them unbroken in the first place.

Disappointed

I just assembled the armoire and one of the vertical legs would not align correctly. It is due to the pre-drilled holes were not positioned correctly. Thus, there is a very noticable 1/8" gap where two pieces join together. I have assembled alot of particle board furniture so I expect better from Target and Thomasville.
