[...]--PLEASE READ January 7, 2008 Reviewer:  am (Minnesota, USA)  See all my reviews >

My son is 13 months old. He LOVES this toy.

Yesterday, he was playing with it and got very quiet. I looked over at him, and he had taken apart the hammer, and had the squeak device (a small, round object about the diameter of a hot dog and about 1 1/2" long) in his MOUTH.

I've emailed the company but have not yet received a reply.

Please, PLEASE check to make sure your hammer is securely assembled, or take it away.

GREAT TOY! December 5, 2008 Reviewer:  Sharit "Sharit" (Pennsylvania, USA)  See all my reviews >

OF COARSE IT MAKES NOISE & THE KIDS LIKE TO STICK STUFF IN IT, OTHERWISE IT WOULDN'T BE FUN AND KEEP THEM OCCUPIED. MY SONS HAVE LOVED IT FOR A LONG TIME & THERE HASN'T BEEN ANYTHING THAT WENT IN IT THAT WE HAVEN'T GOT OUT. IT'S DURABLE AND IT TEACHES COORDINATION AND CAUSE & EFFECT SKILLS.

Good idea, bad design December 2, 2008 Reviewer:  Emily E. Hoyt "Emily" (Phoenix, AZ)  See all my reviews >

I had this toy for my daughter... she constantly got other toys stuck inside it that were a pain to get back out. I ended up throwing it away with other toys still in it.

Well-made, colorful and fun! November 9, 2007 Reviewer:  Sissy (Knoxville, TN)  See all my reviews >

This toy is great. We've had it for about 2 years and have never had any issues. My child is 3 1/2 and still enjoys playing with it. It's durable and made to last. You would have to be extremely rough to break this toy.

Response to "Bad Design" review December 5, 2008 Reviewer:  Happy mom Erin D (Waco, TX United States)  See all my reviews >

The nice thing about this toy is that when other toys get stuck in it, which they will, you can simply unscrew the top with a screwdriver and retrieve them. I'm so glad they built it this way, and it's too bad that the reviewer threw away this toy with other toys still inside. We have had this for six years and it has been a hit with all three kids. After all the abuse we have given this toy, small parts of it have broken off or cracked. This is understandable, though, and we are actually about to buy a new one.

Good toy, could be designed a little better... November 24, 2008 Reviewer:  charlestonmom (South Carolina)  See all my reviews >

My son loved this toy - I got it for his 1st birthday...It entertains him very well, and he enjoys playing with it very much. It is very durable.....

What I don't like: The bottom (the red part shown in the picture) is not attached, and comes off easily, and without the base, the toy falls over. Also, the balls are very hard to get into the holes using the mallet. It takes some force, and frankly - my 1 year old cannot do it. (The good thing is that other balls from parent's choice toys are compatible, and for some reason, they fit better than the ones that comes with it). The only other bad thing that is irrelevant in the toy design (but something to think about) is that my son puts everything else in the holes too!!! (hot wheel cars, other balls, anything that will fit) - the good thing is that I have been able to get everything out up to this point...So, overall it is a good toy, could be designed a little better.....

Oh--the balls get backed up in the bottom, as there is not a slant, the base is flat. So they get backed up into the next level, and you have to pick it up and shake it to get them out.....not that hard to do, but your child may not be able to do it by him or herself, depending on age.

A MUST HAVE! November 15, 2008 Reviewer:  C. Bryson Real Name See all my reviews >

Over the last 6 years I have become a professional toy shopper... at least I feel like it. I have 3 boys and we've seen our fair share of toys come through the doors. This is one of the best toys we've ever owned. It's not super fancy, but the kids love it! They never really use the mallet, but they play forever just pushing them in. After a few years it ended up outside and left in the rain and filled with water etc.. and it's still going strong. A few of the screws have rusted (but what do you expect being out in the rain where it shouldn't be). It's a great toy. I also love that it doesn't take batteries or make electronic sounds. It's just good 'ol fashioned fun!

Fun, but no safe October 24, 2008 Reviewer:  Mom of One "Hollie" (Dickson, TN, USA)  See all my reviews >

My child received this for his first birthday and at first loved it. After using it a few times, the balls cracked in half. I had to take away the hammer due to it being a hazzard to him because he was sticking the handle down his throat. I heard good things about this toy from friends, but I had a bad exprience. If you decide to purchast this, just monitor your child while he/she plays with it.

Hard to pound balls in but easy for other toys to lodge in October 6, 2008 Reviewer:  beehappybee (Dallas, TX USA)  See all my reviews >

Initially this looked like a great toy however it didn't work well with my children. The mallet and balls are hard hollow plastic so they make a lot of noise when pounded. The balls are very hard to pound in with the mallet - even my 3 year old had touble with this. All kinds of other toys (cars, little people, ect), however, were easy to fit through the holes at the top but very hard to get back out again. We spent most of our time with this toy taking out lodged in toys and discouraging the use of the mallet on other items and people in the home. This toy was most interesting to my 1 year old, but my 3 year old was better able to get the balls in the toy. The most interesting part of this toy to both of my children was finding other toys to stick inside it. We have had this toy almost a full year and my children are just turning 2 and 3 1/2 years old.

SIMPLE BRILLIANT TOY August 19, 2008 Reviewer:  Mom x4 (Boston, MA)  See all my reviews >

Who'd think such a simple toy keeps toddler happy for so long! I can cook all of dinner while my 2 year old bangs and sorts and bangs and places, laughing every time! We've had this toy for almost a year and it's still a favorite.
