You get alot of play food for your money! I chose all wood food for my 17 month olds Kitchen. It is more durable and you can "cut" most of Melissa and Doug food items. We have been buying all of the sets. We simply love them. Thay don't get smashed when stepped on like plastic play food. The colors are bright and wonderful. You get much more food than other brand wooden toy food.

my kids both love this toy (2 years & 4 years) as well as the kids in our play group. it can be dropped and stepped on with out messing up. lots of fun and works with other toys.

My kids got this for Christmas and have played with it almost daily in the 4 months since. They mix and match the ingredients, take sandwich orders, etc. They love the velcro that holds the pieces together. Overall, kudos to Melissa and Doug!

We received this as a gift and to be very honest I'm just not impressed. We own several wooden play food items from other companies which I think look better aesthetically (the Melissa & Doug items are pretty blocky) and I'm just not impressed with their quality. I'd much rather have fewer items and be confident of their quality (or their sustainability for that matter) than this set.
