I LOVE this product. It works for normal, thick, shoulder length hair. I can't speak for incredibly long hair, but for the tight curls (small rollers) or doobie curl (bigger rollers) it's just what I needed. A whole lot better than putting direct heat from a curling iron on my hair. It doens't leave my hair frizzy and the curls stay all day long. It's fast and my rollers can get extremely hot, I leave them in while I get dressed for at least ten minutes so it can hold the curls. I wouldn't trade it for the world!

Great, but malfunctioned after minimal use.

First, if my review was on the product when working properly, I would definitely give it five stars. It's the first set of curlers I've ever had which doesn't tangle my long, thick, fine hair. The spring clips are so great and easy to use. The two door design helps keep the rollers you are not using hotter.
However, I don't know if Conair has a system wide quality control problem or not. After only minimal use, this unit began to arc on the end of the unit. (Electricity jumping between two separated points on the end of the unit) It sounds like a fly zapper when it's doing it. The unit is still useable when this happens, but my husband, the electrical engineer, says this is dangerous and that I should not use it.
Additionally, I have a Conair hair dryer, which has also started arcing. Company quality control problem?
In fairness, the company offered to replace it, if I sent it back, but I never got around to it. I loved this set so much, I'll probably try another one, but keep your receipt!

I bought these rollers after my old ones, which I LOVED, died. I have really thick, straight hair, so I let them heat up longer than instructed and left them in longer, too. They made a few waves at the end that fell out quickly. They may work if you have thinner hair or hair that takes curl better. Personally, I like the wax core rollers the best for hard-to-curl hair.

I have fine, thin hair. I tried these with and without product and they were terrible. They got hot all right, burned my fingers something awful. All they did was bend my hair and I left them in for over 20 minutes. Oh and the bend only stuck around for about 10 minutes.
I guess I need to continue my search.

After reading the reviews of this item, and thinking it was likely these would work on my hair (my hair is long and somewhat fine, but I have a little natural curl), I went out and purchased them. They did not work. While hair type may play into this, the biggest reason was the fact they simply did not get hot enough. I had them up to the hottest temperature and left them on to heat up for the specified amount of time (and more), and still I could hold them in my hand. My old rollers, having died after 11 years of use, were so hot that they burned my fingers. I tried them several times, but after a few days returned them to the store. The other problem was the clips left a dent in my hair. I also feel that the velvety exterior does not allow the heat to fully penetrate through the roller, so it does not reach the hair. I would not recommend these rollers if you are looking for bouncy, long-lasting curls.

After reading the reviews, I went out and got these rollers. I have pretty thick hair and curling irons just weren't working anymore. But these rollers are great. I thought I needed them to be at the hottest level, but they worked too well, so I have it at mid-heat and it is perfect. They also hold really well with a little gel and hairspray.
The different sizes are nice too. The clips are perfect. I have no trouble with the rollers holding the hair and the clips holding the rollers-even the large rollers. My hair came out smooth and shiny. I am so excited to finally have big, bouncy hair that doesn't fall within 30 minutes!!

I got the funky revlon rollers originally, but returned them for these. . . these are the BEST- I LOVE THEM!!! My hair is right in the middle as far as thickness and texture, and I don't know WHAT the girl (who said the clips don't hold well) was talking about! They work great- from big to small! They hold the curl extremely well too. I'm not one to use too terribly much hairspray either- I like movable bouncy curl, and this gave me the perfect results I desired!!!!

I have long hair and I am really unhappy with the clips that came with the set. They are too big for the smallest rollers and too small for the biggest rollers. They work great for the medium size. I had to use the old clips from my previous hot roller set.
The rollers get hot and the temperture is adjustable, a feature that I like. I really like the Ionic coating on the rollers, as my hair doesnt tangle on them and they do get hot.

I used these rollers getting ready for a party with a friend and can't wait to go out and get my own. I have fine thin hair that has natural curl and I LOVED THESE! I will get these as soon as i can get to the store as I don't want to wait for them in the mail! Can't understand why anyone would not like these rollers and find them so easy to use.

The clips hold well, and the rollers themselves get very hot. However, when it comes to actually keeping the curl, it doesn't work that well. I have to leave the rollers in my hair for about 30 minutes to get the desired effect. As well, I have to use a TON of hairspray to get the curls to set. My old rollers would set hair within ten minutes, and the curls would stay all day without an excess amount of hairspray. I'm slightly disappointed.
