I bought this machine about 10 years ago and it has not given me any problems until recently. I used this machine to make projects and clothes for my kids. I then used this machine when I was in college studying fashion design (used it all the time for my homework!). I used this machine after I graduated for more projects and while I was Costume Designing for a local professional theatre. It has never given me any problems until last week I finally had to buy a bobbin casing (that just wore out.) The only thing that I didn't like about the machine is that it is slow (which is great for beginners). The all metal workings & all of the extra presser feet make this a great deal for your first machine. Also it takes generic presser feet, and the parts are inexpensive. (I got an invisible zipper foot for 12.95 and the bobbin casing I had to replace was only 27.95 including shipping!) Like I said 10 years and still going strong!!!
