I came here to write my own review. However after reading the one written by mariesmist realized that she wrote exactly what I was going you say. I agree with every word written in her review.

I have a cat and bought it to use in my very large kitchen with linoleum floor. Here's how it goes: Turn it on and it jerks 45 degrees around, move it across the floor and the cat hair goes flying into the air with me reaching out for it, I have been able to catch some, but who knows where it (and any I missed) would have landed if I hadn't caught it, AND to finish, it is so loud that I have actually used ear plugs while trying to sweep with this item.

I should add that if I could find my receipt for this purchase, I would return it immediately and spend that money more wisely. It's just taking up valuable space where something much more useful could be stored.

This vacuum has too much power for its weight. When you turn it on, it jumps up from the floor due to the strong stream of air it emits from the back. It is also extremely loud. Otherwise, it is easy to assemble, operate, and empty. While the suction is pretty good, that air that comes out defeats the purpose of the vacuum because it blows any dust/dirt/pet hair up from the floor before it can be vacuumed! That is the deal breaker for me, as I got it to clean the cat hair not blow it all over the place.

This was my husband and I's first vacuum when we got married. I purchased it with the gift cards we received from our wedding, and thought it was a good find for the price, and would be great for our townhouse. It was horrible. The noise was incredibly loud, and it picked up hardly anything. I would go over small pieces of fragments on the carpet, and it would go right over it as if it weren't there. Although it was easy to assemble, and I dealt with it for the time being, it is now sitting solitarily in a corner of our house, while I whizz by with my newer (and much, much better Bissell Cleanview Vacuum). This may be good for someone who lives alone on a small island, because no one else could stand the noise of this thing. My husband has been trying to trash the vacuum behind my back for months now, but I'm trying to convince him that it's not a total loss, we can at least donate it to charity?

Don't waste your money on this one...

I can't stand this vacuum! Like the other reviews I have read, it is deafening! The cord is short, the suction is poor. Larger particles (ex. food crumbs) end up getting pushed around. It also blows air out so dust bunnies go flying around. So for a vacuum that is supposed to be for a quick clean up, you end up spending all your saved time plugging and unplugging, sweeping up missed particles, and chasing dust bunnies around. Don't bother!!

Easy to store. Really lightweight. Extremely loud. Doesn't suck up everything. It takes me a longer time to vaccum because when I think that I'm finished I find another crumb that wasn't sucked up. Save your money buy a better vaccum.

I really wanted to like and keep this vacuum because it has awesome suction, but it is simply TOO LOUD! My dog even ran from it which she has NEVER done. I literally could not hear anything else in my whole house when it was on...and when I turned it off, my ears were ringing and sore. Also, it blows crumbs, dirt, pet hair etc. around so it kind of makes vacuuming pointless! Once the dust settles you're either going to have to go over the same area again or bust out the broom & dust pan. Another thing is, it is too powerful to use on bathroom rugs and smaller area rugs. I literally could not push it back and forth over my bathroom rug because the suction was so strong. It just stuck to my rug and wouldn't budge. I'm probably repeating a lot of what others have said but I just wanted to be another voice of opposition.

This vacuum is DEAFENING! Don't buy unless you plan on buying a matching set of GOOD ear plugs for protection to go with it!!!

I bought this vacuum for my first apartment, thinking that it would be useful for vacuuming such a small area. I was wrong. It didn't pick up anything- not even a crumb. After about 5 months of trying to manually put stuff into it as I vacuumed, I splurged and bought the Bissel Velocity that had all of the great reviews on here. For like $70 more you can have a vacuum of Dyson quality that actually lasts.

i bought it for the price.. it's too loud and blows air on each side causing pet hair & dust to fly around. i find myself chasing it w/the vacuum. i'll probably be returning it.

I bought this for the upstairs so I would not have to lug the regular vac upstairs all the time. It's a waste of money. It doesnt work like a normal vac, it only sucks up dirt in a small 1" maybe 2" area. It is way more work than it should be.

Just bought this last week. This is my third stick vacuum and it is the best so far for hard floors. (Has largest coverage with best suction.) You can't expect a vacuum without brushes to do much on carpeted surfaces, however I use it also on several types of carpet mats around the house without problem. Yes it is loud - somewhat resembling an aircraft readying for take off. (Actually similar to a shop vac.) If noise may be an issue you may want to look at another model. Noise trade-off is worth it to me.
