So I really wanted this to be a great product, it's easy to assemble, cheap, streamlined, etc. But what everyone's been saying is true, it's VERY loud and blows air out in a way that makes it difficult to use. Things get blown around and you have to sort of chase after them. I wanted it for my hardwood floors, something better than sweeping up with a traditional broom, but now after one use I'm really hoping I can take it back and get something else! I realized that even though I wasn't making this decision consciously, I haven't used it again because of the noise! It's just too jarring and it freaked out my two little kittens not to mention me.

i have 2 dirt devils and i'm buying a 3rd. i constantly use them in the kitchen (white tiled floors...not my choice), in the bathroom, and in the entry hallway. they are what they are..."brooms" for hard floor surfaces. i have a large dog that constantly sheds...he should be "bald" by now and i am always vacuuming dog hairs. i leave one next to the fridge in the kitchen, one in the bath, the third will go in the hallway closet since i'm using it all the time. they are easily emptied and you don't need any bag. i should be on TV endorsing this little gem. they have fantastic suction and i don't care about the noise. they are super super super. that's all.

I bought this to battle the never-ending crumb,cheerio, and construction paper bits problem on my tiled kitchen floor, cleaning up after twin 5 year olds. The thing is loud, no doubt, but it had no problem picking up any and everything. It didn't blow stuff around as others have indicated in reviews of this product. I did not buy it to replace my conventional vacuum. To me, it functions like a dust buster but without having to bend over. I like it and am buying a second one for my beach house.

My ears are still muffled and ringing. My dh had to take the baby in the other room so her hearing wasn't damaged the first time I used this thing. I bought it for quickie pickup jobs now that my 8 month old crawls. Yikes. I don't think I'll use it for anything but really small jobs around the table because it is so loud.
The power is better than our old stick vac, but my dyson might be worth the size hassle (under the table) since it sucks so much better and isn't as loud. I might be better off saving up for the smaller dyson. I have been very happy with the Dyson brand. Oh yeah, the Dirt Devil filter on this is hard to clean out and is already partially clogged after the first use. I'm not so sure I'd choose this vacuum over another one. You get what you pay for! I think I might just buy a new cordless swiffer vac for the price point. At least it picks up more fine dust that this one. It ends up blowing a lot around because of the air off the back.

I am a college student living in a one bedroom apartment that is carpeted and I think this vacuum works quite well. True, it is loud, and it does blow out a lot of air (so I could see how this would be a problem when vacuuming hardwood floors) but it is extremely powerful and picks up even difficult things like hair. I would not recommend this for someone with a bigger home or budget, but for a college student or someone living in a small space, this is great.

I bought this vacuum to use on my hardwood floors. I love it. It has so much power that it practically jumps when I turn it on and it does a great job. I would not recommend it to use on wall to wall carpet, but it works great on throw rugs, it vacuums them without sucking them up like a regular vacuum does.

We bought this vac for our children to use on the tile floor so that they felt like they were helping clean, and being somewhat productive. It is light enough for our children to push around, however it is extreamly noisy and doesn't suck anything up at all. In fact it does the opposite. There are vents on both sides of the vac so it doesn't over heat. These these vents blow so much air that things are actually being blown across the floor. Awful vac!!
