My 3 1/2 son got this for Christmas. The music is catchy and he loves the fact that he can turn on the music switch and just dance, or switch it back so that it makes a thump when it is hit against something. The music can get slightly annoying but a great gift for those who love music or who have a beat. Even my 18 month old loves them!

Feb '06 I got these for my 3 yr olds birthday. Within the first week the blue plastic covers on the "speakers" on the end of the sticks had broken off a few pieces. The sticks were a lot of fun, but shortly after changing the batteries, the one with the music button stopped working. I tried many solutions. I think maybe they lasted 5 months. Also the movement sensor that triggers the sound and light was kinda wonky.
Good idea, poor execution.

My 5 1/2 yr old boy thought they had a "Korny" sound. They have an 80's sound to them. But, my 2 yr old girl loves them! Go figure?

My son instantly loved these. Then one of the sticks stopped working correctly. I returned them to a Target store and am now reordering them. We'll see if this pair lasts longer.

When the sticks come out, my girls love to have fun with them. It's great b/c they can make music on ANYTHING!! It's an easy toy to throw in the car and take anywhere. My husband and I play sand volleyball, and let the girls take them along, they end up FILLED with sand, and STILL work. BAD part, is they can get annoying, b/c the kids know that it will make music on ANYTHING, and I don't know about you, but that can go too far at times..lol!!?! We have had them for about a year now, and still working!

My 3 year old girl loves this toy. She didn't pick up on it at first because she's sensitive to noise but after she got used to it, she's been drumming with it when she wants. She's not much into the music that is in one of the sticks but she likes to listen to it on occasion. Unfortuanatly there is no way to turn it down some. The drumming beat can be changed to 2 other sounds by pressing two buttons on the bottom end near the speakers.
