Half of the table holds sand; the other half, with a convenient drain plug, holds water. The subtle faux wood-crafted finish blends well with outdoor residential landscapes. Includes 8-piece accessory kit with 1 umbrella, 2 bridges, 2 boats, 2 pots and 1 shovel. Lid stays secure with elastic tie-downs and has play area on top. Detachable legs for use at ground level. We got this for our daughter's 3rd birthday and gave it to her 2 weeks early when the warm weather really hit. Setting it up proved a bit more difficult than other toys because we had to drill the screw holes and put in 16 screws. We filled both sides with water to keep her nice and cool and to keep sand off our new deck. We had to caulk the part where the legs attach to the top because the water leaked a little on both sides, but that only took about 2 minutes! The bridges slide off easily, but the kids don't seem to mind. But don't let any negative stuff scare you off; it is WELL WORTH THE MONEY! It has gotten many, many hours of use already. We do really love the fact that the colors aren't bright and garish, as many kids' toys can be, so it blends in with our deck and patio furniture. The plastic legs even look like wood. Also, the umbrella is very big and pretty sturdy; we even borrowed it for our patio table one day when ours had broken. Our little one loves the table, even with just water, and so do all our guests' kids. A GREAT BUY. If this were lost, stolen, swooped away by a tornado, whatever, we would buy another one ASAP.

No doubt, this toy is really fun for the little ones. My two year old plays with it for 20 minutes in the morning and 20 minutes in the evening. I have no complaints about the toy itself at all.

The thing you should know though before you commit to buying it is how EXTREMELY messy your house will be. Forget about the fact they mix the water and sand together, no big deal in comparison to what follows. They start pouring the sand on the ground, on their bodies, up in the air, they throw it at each other with big smiles on their faces... They drag sand into the house. Since its sand AND water, their wet hands go into the sand so they get sand stuck on them from fingertips to elbows.. they have a great time, but just be prepared to always have to clean up after them. Oh yes, and make SURE you close the lid at night if you have cats around cuz they like to use it as a litter box..

My husband and I got this for my son when he was around 18 mos. My husband balked, but he now admits that this is THE BEST toy we have for our now 2 1/2 yr old. All his friends and cousins love it too... He will not out grow it for a long time. Umbrella is great during sunny days -- some may find they need a stabilizer for it... We only put water in the table-no sand- to save on messes, but we add bubbles, food coloring, rocks or shells, etc, to make it interesting. During the winter, bring it inside and fill it will rice, dried beans, cereal, cotton balls...have fun and a little imagination!

Bought this toy for my one year old twins and they LOVE it! We are not yet using sand but love to fill the entire table with water. It has provided hours of fun for our girls and their pals. It arrived quickly, was pretty easy to put together and is very sturdy. Love having the shade from the umbrella too.

I am a Mom of two very active boys ages 4 and 20 months. They LOVE this Sand and Water table. I never write reviews on products. We bought this in May as a special thing for the boys to play with in the backyard. Both boys love it. It encourages creative play. Plus, I have found that the texture play calms the kids and helps them to focus. I love the size of this table because whenever the boys have friends over- we have had as many as 6 kids playing at once. We added lots of match box cars, dump trucks, shovels, and just random things from the house. You will not be dissapointed!

My son loves this table! He got it for his birthday this weekend. The shipping on it is a little expensive at some retailers but it is impossible to find in store. I recommend shopping around to look for not only the best price but also the best deal on shipping. The toys that come with it are a little cheesy but I found some little tykes toys that are very nice. The cover is a little flimsier than I thought it would be but serves it's purpose. I am glad we decided to get him this toy.

My son loves his sand box! Plays with it all the time. Got it for his 1st birthday, couldn't be happier with the purchase. Hours of fun!

My only complaint is that I cannot get the water to stay in. It always leaks out.

I aksed for this for my daughter's 1st birthday after reading the good reviews it got. Plus, one of my friends got this for her son years ago and it's still his favorite toy. We're not ready to use sand yet because EVERYTHING still goes into her mouth so I filled both sides with water. Right away, it started leaking at the point where the legs "pop" into the table. There are actual holes in the table that the legs pop into. Granted, you get these little rubber gaskets to put over the legs that are supposed to act like a seal. Simple solution for the leaking - hot glue! I hot glued the the holes where the table legs met and voila...no more leaks. Overall, well work it. The size was also great. My daughter is very little but still able to stand next to it and play comfortably.

We've never actually put water in it, just sand on both sides - great size, good height for our toddler. Cover goes on easily and keeps water/critters out.

Both of my children have a blast with this! Sand, water or both creates minutes (if not hours) of messy fun. Just remember not to leave the umbrella unfurled, as I had to chase this down one time during a windy day. :^)
