Description
Preserve your car's upholstery from car seat damage with the clever Two-Stage Seatsaver by Prince Lionheart. Featuring a universally fitting, streamlined shape that works with and accommodates all LATCH-compatible car seat systems, the Seatsaver is constructed of high-density foam that prevents depression damage and a bottom tray with a deep, 1" lip to keep the Seatsaver in its proper position and the car seat level. A kick plate protects seat upholstery from shoe scuffs. The Seatsaver's design serves two stages of car seat use: Stage one uses only the bottom tray with rear-facing infant car seats; Stage two attaches the back via easy-close tabs to the bottom tray for use with forward-facing toddler and booster car seats, with flexible scores to conform the Seatsaver to your car's seat. The attractive tan color coordinates with many neutral car interiors. Imported.

doesn't fit in all vehicles

we recently purchased a honda odyssey, and i purchased two of these seatsavers (one to go under a booster seat and the other to go under an infant carrier). although the packaging says they fit any vehicle, they did not fit the middle row captain's chair-style seats where our children sit. in the odyssey, the seatbelt buckle comes directly out of the bottom of the seat. you can see in the photo of the product that the seat bottom is square, with no cutouts or indentations to accommodate such seatbelts. i tried to move it over so the bottom part was next to the seatbelt, but because that part is so wide, it interfered with the part of the harness that goes around my daughter's waist. these seatsavers seem much sturdier than others that i have seen, so i was disappointed that they didn't fit properly in my vehicle.

We bought this item to try and make sure that our car seat didn't leave any marks on our seats in our car. We couldn't get the seat in very tight, so we took it to our police department where there are trained policemen who put in the seats. They informed us that we should never use these types of products with any car seat, b/c in a crash they prevent the seat from being secured and your baby can be seriously injured. They suggested laying a piece of the rubbery shelving paper down under the infant car seat, which kept it from shifting and protected the seat, but was so thin it wouldn't interfere with the safety of the car seat.

I could not get this to work in three different cars. The car seat was never "correctly" installed, as they would slide several inches from side to side whenever we used this seat protector. I even had the folks that did car seat checks try and they couldn't get it to work well in my car either.

Buy one before you install the seat/base the 1st time!

We bought 2 of these. When I stumbled across these, I realized my leather seats & my husband's light, unpatterned upholstery would be easily torn or mashed unevenly by the carseat base. With a 2nd base in his car, we just put her in either car in the same infant seat (which also fits in the Graco SnugRide stroller frame) & never have to worry about wear & tear. The edge of the bottom section has a good lip on it & allows you to tuck in baby jacket without falling out.

A good buy if it works in your car

I bought this product for my son's seat. While it works wonderfully in our SUV, it doesn't do so hot in our sedan. It's like any other car seat protector in that you have to try it out first. My son is also in booster now which may also make a diffrence. This is not a seat protector I would purchase when trying to install a rear facing seat. Over all, this product is great if it works with your patricular vehicle.

Compromises Safety

If you look at any information on car seat safety you will know that seatsavers should NOT be used, ever. It gives one a false sense of security while giving you an unsecure install. Do not use a seatsaver with a car seat if you care about the safety of your child. Do the research!
A thin towel or shelf liner will do the trick if you absolutely need something to protect your seat.

A true seat saver!

This weekend was a true testament to what this seat saver does--on an out of town trip in our new car with leather seats, my toddler got sick and threw up in the car. The car seat was soaked and the car smelled, but the seat saver kept all of it off the car. All we had to do was pull out the car seat, clean out the seat saver, and put it back in. The folded edges kept the seats clean and protected, and we noticed after pulling out the seat saver that the indentations that were in the leather prior to us buying the seat saver had disappeared, and now the seats looked just like new again. Definitely worth the money.

The seat saver is absolutly wonderful! The "gripping" material is very nice and once its put on the seat it won't hardly move. I am currently using this under a britax companion and it works really well with the latch system. The other nice thing about this is that the size of the padding is actually bigger then the base of the seat so it protects more. Even though this is a "two-stage" protector I am using the whole product since the rebound bar of the companion base rests against the back of my seat and it works great. Definatly would recommend this.

This is our fourth seat saver from Prince Lionheart. It does a great job saving our leather seats and catches all the food crumbs from the kids. We would highly recommend this product!
