I got this for a birthday present 3 years ago and it works as well as day one! If you like your toast medium or dark, her cute little face is very clear. It's easy to clean and easy to use. It brightens my whole kitchen and heart-I've loved hello kitty since 1976. Extremely worth the purchase price.

When I pulled this out of the box I first had to dig the lever out because the pink knob was not on it, and during shipping the lever had shifted to the side. Once I got it out and attached the lever knob, I thought it was ready to go. The lever will not catch at the bottom. To toast I have to stand there and hold it down (yes I know they will only catch when plugged in, it was plugged in). I tried to exchange it (Still had the box but not receipt) and there were no more in the store b/c it was a Holiday Item. I'm going to try to get a friend to fix it.

This toaster works well but you can't really see the kitty face as well as the picture shows. It's more like a untoasted blob rather than the kitty face. Perhaps if you had really thick toast that was pressed up against the toasting plate, perhaps, but normal bread, it doesn't show up. Either way, it does a good job at toasting and makes you smile when using it.

This toaster works well. It is obvious that the face in the middle is not going to be very toasted. If it was, there would be no face!! But I really like it and if you like HK then it will be worth having your toast a little rare! Other than that it is a wonderful appliance.

This was such a cute christmas gift from my sister. I wanted this so bad and the stores FINALLY had them in stock for christmas. This is by far the cutest thing ever. I'd have to say though that the first couple of times that I tried it out, it burnt my toast badly. Do not use beyond the "1" setting when utilizing this toaster. The face doesn't show as much as I had hoped it would but honestly, if you're expecting an imprint in the middle, it's not going to toast it accordingly. Every single time I toast, it's visible, but you have to burn it to have it absolutely visible.

I love hello kitty but I would rather spend my money on merchandise that works. As you can see in the other reviews it doesn't toast a face, all it really does is toast around the center of the bread. It leaves a big circle untoasted in the middle. I could just as well buy a pink toaster and put hello kitty stickers on it. Whatever you do don't buy this for anyone get some other hello kitty item.

I love my hello kitty toaster. I agree with the other two reviewers about the face not showing up as well as it ought to but I think that it would work better for those who like dark or well toasted items. I love the bagel, defrost, and reheat features that are not common on regular toasters. The aesthetic design of it could not have been any cuter. I'd recommend it to anyone who loves hello kitty.

I didn't have any problem with the toaster. I bought it 3 months ago from Kitty offical website (more expensive than Target.) It is very cute, and very beautiful to put on the kitchen counter.

I didn't tune degree to "burn" (the seventh degree) for the kitty face. I just turned "five" and the kitty face came out with good sharp and perfect color--regular brown or light brown. I thought it could be depended on the quality of bread/loaf--better bread will get the better sharp.

I gave 4 stars because my toaster was not even color (or power) for the both slides. So, the other slide was not very clear for the kitty face. And, the toaster is for small size loaf (Japanese size.) For US "tall" size, it will give you an one inch space with white color.

No imprint of hello kitty for me either, but it does toast bread which was the main thing we were looking for. Asthetically pleasing design...I still love it.

I was so excited to get this toaster for my girls BUT it doesn't work! The image of Hello Kitty barely shows up! It does get darker on the second round of toasting but never becomes clear enough to make out what the image is! BUMMER! Big disappointment!
