I agree...my first toaster had to be returned as well. It is adorable, but you will never see kitty's face appear. You get a blob of lightness, and that's about it. I must say though it looks adorable on my kitchen counter.

This is cute looking but that's about it. It;s broken after using it for two weeks. It was a gift and I no longer have the box so I doubt I can return it. Like the other person said, it never imprinted the Hello Kitty face. Freaking LAME!

I got this toaster because I love Hellokitty, but I was very surprised and happy that this is the best toaster I ever owned. It works well, is well made/sturdy. At first my family kinda laughed that I got another Hellokitty appliance but now everyone uses it and like it too.

I had high hopes that this would be fun and useful. It was cute, yes, but within 5 days of my purchase the toaster stopped working altogether. In the short time it did work, it did not toast the Hello Kitty imprint on the toast, as shown in the picture online. Overall it was a big bummer.

I got this for my girlfriend for a Christmas gift as she loves Hello Kitty. It was then $15. It is a very nice toaster for the price. It does not work so well with whole wheat bread to show the face. It has several features that are helpful. One thing I really like about it is the cancel button. You can press that instead of lifting the lever on the side to pop the toast up. I also agree with the other previous reviewer that the face shows up better with the darker setting.

I received this toaster as a graduation gift since I love Hello Kitty. It works very well, and has convenient settings for different foods. However, if you want the face of Hello Kitty on your toast, it has to be on the darkest setting to see all the detail of her face (aka burnt toast). Might I also add that the part where her face is, tastes and feels like untoasted bread, which is precisely what it is. Other than that, I love it!
