Depends on the use March 19, 2006 Reviewer:  Mom of 1 (Jax, FL, USA)  See all my reviews >

If you need an area totally cut off this will work, the price is right. It's a pain to undo the whole gate and most of the time I have to hurdle it if I need to get over it quickly. Don't try to put it up and keep a child from getting into the room you don't want them in at the same time, you will lose because it's got to be adjusted just right. I has not aged well, after a few months of use it's creaky and really banged up. For a grandparent whose use would be occasional, it will keep sections blocked off if wedged in the doorspace tight enough. I am searching for a more practical gate.

Not a good investment for long term use December 4, 2005 Reviewer:  Mom of 4 "Missy S" (St Cloud, Minnesota)  See all my reviews >

I had bought this when I had my first child. It worked fine just to keep them in the room. Then I had my second and it is a problem when you are walking in and out and your hands are usually full. Buy the time I had my third child came the gate was already broke. I suggest the

"Parents Infant extra-Tall Wall-Thru Gate"

It cost a little more but you will be much happier.

Perfect for different doorway widths April 10, 2008 Reviewer:  Rachel's mom (Raleigh, NC, USA)  See all my reviews >

We have several different doorways, and I wanted a gate I could transfer amongst them. This gate is PERFECT for that. It shrinks small enough for the smallest door (30", but could go even smaller) and is large and stable enough for the 48" door. It's also great because it's easy to move and I can block the deck stairs with it when we play outside! Doesn't mar the walls, and is very easy to adjust and set up. We even took it on a trip. If I needed another gate, I'd definitely buy this one. Great gate for the price.

Its Good, for some purposes May 2, 2007 Reviewer:  Suzi "Suzi" (O'brien Florida)  See all my reviews >

My daughters arent climbers so this easy keeps them in the room I want them to be in. Although its nice because its kind of tall, Its really bad if you need to get over it, and dont want to move it....and your short like me. Besides having to undo and do it, this gate is great. I would go for something else, if you dont want to open it everytime though. And if you have a climber it probably wouldnt last long.

The baby gate isn't meant to keep cats in. March 11, 2009 Reviewer:  Chic_Mom "Lisa" (Sacramento, CA, USA)  See all my reviews >

The baby gate isn't meant to keep cats in.
Cats love to hunt and climb.
Was your baby able to climb over it?

My cats climbed up and over within seconds May 25, 2008 Reviewer:  26 "MESSINA" (orlando,FL)  See all my reviews >

So I just set up my gates and im a bit disapointed. I ordered two so that I could introduce my two new cats to the other cat I already have. But within seconds they were climbing up and over the gate completely defeating the purpose..obviously right! It is semi sturdy in the middle but rests firmly against the wall. So im not sure how great it would hold up for a child. agggghhh back to the drawing board i go!

GREAT FOR THE PRICE June 1, 2007 Reviewer:  AMBER (EUREKA, CA)  See all my reviews >

YES- I'M SHORT TOO. SO I WAS CONCERNED BECAUSE IT IS TALL. BUT, OUR STAIRS HAVE A METAL RAIL ON ONE SIDE AND A WALL ON THE OTHER AND IT WORKED PERFECT. I JUST HAVE TO REMEMBER WHAT NUMBER IT'S ON WHEN I TAKE IT DOWN, AND CLIMB OVER THE RAIL SIDE WHEN I DON'T.

tall enough to contain my 2 year old son and my adult german shepherd (though he COULD jump it if he really tried)

A slight hassle, but what we needed March 12, 2008 Reviewer:  New Mommy (Orlando, Fl, USA)  See all my reviews >

We bought this gate to keep our puppy out of certain rooms. Because we live in an apartment complex, we HAD to have a gate that would not require us to make holes in the walls. Even though our puppy had no trouble jumping over it (he's a german shepard), I'm sure our daughter will have a hard time when she starts walking. If you adjust it right, it is pretty sturdy. It will scratch your walls a little, though. Of course, it is a hassle to put up and down, but we don't have a choice since all the ones with swinging gates require you to put holes in your walls. But I can get away with stepping over it. I am 5'6", though, and anyone shorter might not be able to step over it (especially with a baby or anything else in your hands). Overall, good product for the money paid.

old school but just fine December 6, 2007 Reviewer:  starla (Buffalo)  See all my reviews >

Great for the price. Good old fashioned gate. Works if you have an uneven doorway. Keeps dogs where they should be- babies, too. Just take a marker and mark the setting it should be at and you can get it up in one second.

Sometimes the oldest model is the best. I have yet to find a gate that truly fits my needs but this is the simplest and best.
