Good sturdy construction - except the bucket itself, which my son tried to play as another drum, and didn't last long. The fish also came apart very early but after a little crazy glue hasn't had any further issues - and its been through a lot. My 2-year old loves every piece of this set. Be warned the wooden stick gets used on everything - especially the tambourine, but also everything else (trash can, cabinets, all other plastic buckets, etc.) And enthusiastic percussionists can really generate a lot of noise. (Personally, this is much preferred over the electronic kind.) In the meantime, I think he has actually developed a sense of rhythm...?

Egg shakers break too easily

My son has enjoyed this toy since he's had it about a yr ago at 15months old. He especially liked playing the fish from the beginning, which is also one of the more durable items. Problem is, one of the egg shakers broke soon after we bought it - my son had thrown in on the ground and it split in half, with hundreds of tiny beads rolling across the floor. I threw out the other one. Also, the kazoo seemed to 'break' & stopped playing well after a few uses. And I hit the tamborine too hard w/ the fish drumstick and tore a hole through it. While it's still fun to play with what's left, I'm not sure it's worth the cost.

Fun, but broke the first week

My 2 year old daughter loves making music. I thought this would be a great gift for her. Unfortunately, the fish broke the first week. Snapped right in half. I tried to contact the company to ask for a replacement, since I know she was not abusive to it, but the company never replied to any of my correspondence. The "wooden" kazoo that the package mentions is most definitely plastic. Cheap, easily breakable instruments from a crappy company that won't answer my complaints. Save yourself the money and heartbreak. Buy something else.

We originally purchased this toy when my oldest daughter was 2 1/2. She is now 4 1/2. She and my youngest (who is 2)still love this toy. The tamborine did rip, so I had to cut out the material. We still use it, but it's hollow. All in all this is one of their favorite toys. I never had a problem with the fish or the eggs...except for keeping track of where they are because they don't come with a case that is user friendly.
